When i was in automotive school they had flood vehicles that had been donated. They were great because they always had new problems to diagnose. Its not the water that causes the true damage. Its the minerals the water leaves behind that causes corrosion in the wiring. Endless problems popping up more and more over time.

Buying a GM with flood damage is not a very smart move. GM's already have a million electrical problems and now you add flood water and corrosion that thing is gonna be a nightmare

Detailing alone on the interior is in the hundreds (300 or so). And that is usually a glorified wipe down. These guys did so much more to this truck and the truck is worth more then $1000. I drove a Ford truck and it had 300k miles. The engine was still good the brake system broke down. Just to get a place to look at it and towing is in the hundreds again. To potentially pay $2k+. So i junked it. But the engine was good still.
