Oh my god, this is awesome
Where did you get all the bushings from? Great video!!!
Hey mate. We got everything from the rock auto website
@@accelerateauto374 awesome!!! Thanks, im all the way from the netherlands, these cars are 10 in my whole country😅 its gonna be tough to get all the parts i need😉 i realy preciate your help buddy🤘🤘 ill bd following your vids💯
HI. Thanks for your videos. I swapped also a 2.3 for a 2.0L. mine is mazda 5 2007. I changed the crankshaft pulley and the camshaft for matching the ckp and cmp sensors. the time kit is set on right. But the check engine light is on and sending the P0012 code. Camshaft position over-retard. is there another modification I forgott for?
Can you do the opposite? change from 2.0 to 2.3?
Hey bro, could U please list in order what things U did to remove the motor, thz
How you do the crank sensor
Was the lf originally a vvt or did you convert it to vvt using the l3 vvt parts like cam and solenoid and also is it still running the l3 vvt fuel set up or running lf injectors and fuel regulatior and pump?
Yup the LF was originally vvti, I just swapped over the cam shaft from the L3. The camshaft had a different trigger wheel for the cam sensor. I uses the L3 injectors and rail, inlet manifold etc. Everything the was matched to the L3 ecu was used
Thanks for the quick reply genius work u have done there man i have a mazda 6/atenza 2004 was originally 2.3 vvt l3ve motor with 4 speed auto but has had a lfde 2.0 non vvt put in it running the original l3 4 speed auto transmission wanting to convert the lfde to vvt by using an l3ve vvt head but il also have to swap the crankshaft and currently having issues with the 4 speed auto going into limp mode whenever i try use manual shift mode and also no speedometer signal a/t light comes up and check engine and i get dtc for "vehicle speed sensor circuit malfunction" have checked the wiring and rhe sensor and theyre all fine
@toddbrown5988 I think from memory they have a speed sensor on top of the trans that is known for failing, not sure if you have checked that? Is it still running the original ecu for the car?
@toddbrown5988 also, what's different with the crankshaft?
Yup ur bang on there man on my gearbox which is the 4NES 4 speed from the 2.3 vvt that was in it they have a speed sensor in the differential on the gearbox and also a turbine input speed sensor on top of gearbox think that reads the speed of either the input shaft or torque convertor its runnin the ecu from the donor car which the previous owner had no details of iv gathered from info on the net that is a 2007 lfde non vvt motor because the engine number starts with lf4 but i may be wrong as it has an LF78 18 881F ecu which is from a 2004 lfde 4 speed auto whereas a 2007 lfde would have a 5 speed auto fnr5 transmission the guy that put it in is pretty clueless iv been going through the car checking every single wire cos he missed some out some times it comes up with dtc for no communication with canbus or abs something like that its motor wont run on the l3ve 2.3 vvt ecu because the lf i have isnt vvt like urs id say the fact theres no vvt it would have been confused lol he was also running the 2.3 vvt l3 2 stage variable intake and never tweaked that coolant pipe like u did and the hose rubbed against the back of the intake and split (by the way how did u tweak that pipe? Just twist it or something?) And the 2.3 crank is alot bigger and has balancing shaft or something like that on it i think that was to do with the longer stroke also reason why the l3 has a taller deck that the lf to accommodate the extra stroke to make the extra 300cc of displacement over the 2litre lf id say they done that because it would have been easier to redesign the block to still be compatible with all the parts from lf and l8 all 3 motors are almost identical internally i think apart from cams and timing chains when it comes to vvt versus non vvt but dont quote me on that lol iv downloaded a couple of workshop manuals from online one has over 2000 pages and covers all 3 l series motors the 1.8 2.0 and 2.3 il b fitting the correct intake for the lf motor when i put it all back together currently have it apart for that hose issue while waiting for the part and removing old aftermarket alarm wiring and fitting a new alarm and sorting engine bay wiring
Waiting 7 minutes for the pertinent information. Then rush through the process. Thanks.
Drift ute 😅
Hello. I have a mazda 6/atenza 2.0 with LF Engine 2008 model. Can I swap the LF with L3 engine?
Does the same procedure also apply to the 2006 - 2016 MPV LY model, and could the MPV engine be pulled out from the top ? - thanks for any info
Hey mate. I don't see why it wouldn't work ay, they're all much the same set up. From memory, the engine has to be dropped out the bottom, or you can take the front off and bring the engine out forward. The only issue with bringing the engine forward is the air con has to be recovered then refilled so it adds a little extra cost
How long did it take you?
The actual engine removal and refit is a couple hours
Hello, is this the 2L LF-VD with DISI?
Hey mate. Nah it's just the Lf with standard fuel injection
Hey buddy who's the best to deal with for lincoln continental parts ...great job by the way 🎉
Hey mate. Have you been on rockauto.com? They have everything and it's all dirt cheap including freight
how is the driving experience with the new 2.0? despite the drop in displacement, you gain lower centre of gravity and better rod ratio, high rev smoothness??
In all honesty mate, if you didnt know it was a 2.0lt in there, you wouldnt know any different haha it was pretty much the same
Did you use the 2.3 ecm mines not getting spark with the 2.3L ecm
@Tyler smith yeah mate. I used the 2.3 ecu, inlet cam, crank pulley then had to make a bracket to move the crank sensor closer to the crank pulley. The 2.3 crank pulley is smaller diameter and has a different tooth count to the 2.0lt
@@accelerateauto374 because mines getting fuel just no spark still could that be because of the crank sensor
Inlet cam is front cam right?
Without a hoist is it possible to pull from top with front off?I guessing more to take off n longer.
Hey mate. Yup thats how I've done it in the past, more to take off but they make it easy enough to do
They really thought abt it.lol.must of known.poor maintainance as usual.🤦
lol yeah pretty much. Makes my job easier though lol
Hello 👋
Great Videos brother!😃👍 Where abouts in NZ are you based? Also how long did this take you roughly from start to finish? I'm thinking about tackling the same engine swap soon, my 05 Atenzas on its way😅 but I also may take it into the shop aswell depending. Cheers bro👍
Hey mate. I'm in Manawatu. Because I have the hoist I can get this swap done in a day, including running it up to bleed the cooling system etc, they're a piece of cake to do
My mate owns this now, siezed the d15v. B16a2 been slapped in. Now i have a shuttle im efi converting and watching this for a bit of inspirarion
Oh nice, I have a b16 I was going to put in it but decided to go with the d series. I wish I did more videos on it, so many people have wanted to see how I did a few things on it
Hopefully the videos I did do help somewhat
Any new content on the ef shuttle my man?
Hey mate. Nah sorry, someone wanted the shuttle before I was able to finish it so ended up selling it
@@accelerateauto374 you made the work on the shuttle look so easy I wanted to get one for myself! Would you ever consider shipping one out the country? I will pay accordingly of course. I saw a few civics up on trademe I’d be willing to buy.
Awesome i think i saw your post on the Porsche transaxle page
Nice. Possibly the owner shared the video to that page
I quiet dont get the American Quality mentioning by americans, like America is doing Quality stuff. 😂 They do good design but Quality, not so much. 😂
Im from NZ mate
Is it true ya have to take the full body loom with the efi motor for this swap or just the engine 🤔. Cheers
Hey mate. Nah I just adapted the engine loom to the car loom
My mazda is so disturbing here in Uganda. Do you think that I should swap it with ipsum engine or premio. Then goes on front wheels only. What's your advice. It's a mazda premacy 2005
How did you wire up the efi motor
will it need cert for going from carb to efi wana do an efi swap on my sedan
I'm a huge fan of shuttles can't wait to see next vid
Do a skid bro...
Well, now I've been givin permission 🤷♂️ lol
Nice work looks like you can get the job done no matter how much bush there is
🤣🤣🤣🤣
If theres bush that needs doing...I'll do it 👍
Nice work. Exhaust sounds glorious haha
There he is.... Awesome job bro keep it up !!
Cheers maaate. Been a good way to kill some time during this lock down haha
Nice work mate making good progress
It's coming up good. I look forward to the panel work being done
👍
Are you in Auckland mate thanks
Nah I'm in Manawatu man
last premacy motor I pulled, I left the trans in. it's tight but will just squeeze out.
Really? Haha I've never thought to try that
@@accelerateauto374 I need an engine swap for my Mazda 5 it has a ford engine, can you do it.
Nice content man. Is it an orignally EFI body?
Cheers man. Nah it was carby. The wiring is going have me scratching my head for a bit haha
@@accelerateauto374 haha wiring is never fun but I'm sure you will smash it out
all right ebay turbo time 🤙
The clock is ticking haha
all right ebay turbo time 🤙
all right ebay turbo time 🤙
Loving the videos bro. I thought you have to change fuel lines and fuel tank or run external fuel pump since you've gone from Carby to fuel injected?
Yeah mate I'll be running an external pump and efi fuel filter. I was told the lines need to be changed, but I measured and compared them to an eg civic and they're the same size. So I'm not sure if there are just certain models that have smaller lines 🤷♂️
@@accelerateauto374 I've been told and read online that the fuel lines have to be changed as they won't handle the pressure from a fuel injected engine
Nah they should be fine, they're steel just like injected lines. I'll change the short bits of rubber hose but the steel lines will be fine
@@accelerateauto374 oh ok. I wonder if the fuel lines on my dc1 will be steel then too? Want to do a fuel injected swap, sick of the dual caby
Yup they're steel. They're just like all other vehicles that have rubber hose going from the steel line to the carby fuel pump etc and to the tank. That rubber hose needs to be replaced with efi hose
Nice man 👌 looking forward to more vids
yea mate throw the van footage up 🤙
Going up tomorrow haha
telling the water blaster to shut up 👌 Awesom bro🤙
Haha cant have it talking over me
First video 👌 Wicked
