Robert's Super Password Saga from the 80's
A compilation of the time I went on Super Password and won $38,600. Nice haul, no? The show's host of course was Bert Convy, Broadway's original Perchik in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. Having played the role in major productions, Bert & I chatted in the commercial breaks about our time in Anatevka.

You were marvelous, Robert! Well done! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much, Brent!
Oct 24 25 28 and 29 1985 were the airdates.
BRILLIANT 🎉🎉🎉🏆🏆🏆💰💰💰
So tame, so dumb, so much fun🎉
❤❤love
Just wondering she should sing you must love me
Sexy Robert....this is a hoot
Is there nothing she can't do?
😊
Lovely singing!
I can sing this thing effortlessly. It's been in my head since it first aired. If I'm ever defrosted 1000 years from now and they ask for details about our culture, this may be the first thing I talk about.
Well, L@@K at you... doing a a time step and shuffle!! Wasn't this around the time when you and I were cast as singers on that swank cruise line? ...which you ended up doing. 💕
No, this was later. I was cast on Crystal in late 1999. This show above was 2003. I had finished my contracts with the ship by then. As for the time step and shuffle, this was my very first time in tap shoes, ever! 😁
Robert, yes, I saw your post about that! Well done!! How great someone recorded this.
@@2TheResQ_Adoptions Clearly that was shot from the stage manager's booth for archival purposes. I have a sneaky friend who had a copy. and shared it with me.
Everyone is talking about Jodi's performance, as they should, but I also love the production as well. I'm a sucker for props and sets that move on their own for scene transitions (even though that was obviously a stage hand getting rid of the chair still seen from behind the curtain at this camera angle) and the chess board lights going out in segments via the musical stings near the end of the song are a nice touch.
He's great!
Company isn't a very good musical which contains within it the greatest duet in the history of American musical theater.
For those of you who just know her as the voice of Ariel, this is a really big and pleasant surprise! I had no idea she did a production of Chess
One of the best story-telling of this song that I've heard. Bravo 👏
Thank you so much.
Absolutely stunning! I could absolutely picture this in an actual production of Peter Pan. It was acted perfectly and sung beautifully.
Thank you! I did actually get to sing that in a production overseen by the Bernstein Estate. It was originally written for a post-Broadway run tour that never happened.
This is fabulous!
Thank you!
Her voice is so pointed and a great example of singing in your mask, even if it’s at the cost of a warm tone. Astounding really!
Her breath control is astonishing.
Holy crap! Three Disney princesses have played Florence.
Hauntingly amazing voice actress. Ariel, Patsy Smiles, what else?
This is a musical that should have happened.
Does anyone know what year this is from?
Yes, this production was done in the Fall of 1990.
@@yackorama thank you so much for replying!!
Thank you for this. She’s incredible.
holy crap i never seen this before... what an incredible performance
Man…do they still make broadway singers like Robert Yacko? Thanks for sharing! Also, such an underrated show.
Bless you, Dean. So kind. I loved singing that score.
So fuckin funny 😂🤣😂
Cute
It must be so wonderful to open your mouth and sound like that!! What a gift. I can carry a tune but I’d never call it singing. She does a great job with this song.
I may be blind drunk on cheap malt liquor but bless your heart for posting this.
I really wish she never did that riff on 'someone elses life' and 'take my chances' but other than that. Amazing
Wow she is just smashing that out. Massive wall of sound. Incredicble I can only imagine what it was like to be there
"I'm a giraffe" has been living rent-free in my head for around 30 years. Any trip to the zoo, every time one of my children brings me a toy giraffe, I start singing this song. Thanks for sharing this.
I love that! I've never been the ear worm before (Idon't think so anyway). The whole show still makes me laugh and we had the best time on that set. I worked with Sam Robards again in the theater about 14 years later, and when I re-introduced myself, he said,, "I remember. you You were the giraffe!"
Gorgeous!
there's now way there wasn't a bunch of LSD being consumed on the set. greatest show ever
Wow! This is just fantastic! Where was this done????
The Pasadena Presbyterian Church, I believe. It's a music-centered church, where Georgia attended when she and Jason lived in LA,
I've been on a Jason Robert Brown wormhole today, finding some wonderful things, including this. Thanks, Robert!
@@burtihal Jason has 2 more numbers from this concert on his UA-cam channel, - Music of Heaven & Hear My Song (I am in the chorus for those).
All silliness aside, the Animals Staring song actually sounded pretty good... 3:28 🤔
I knew she could sing but I had no idea she could sing like this!
😂😂😂
Veanne is an underrated actress and comedian. This role, along with playing C'inderella's step-sister, and playing Margie to Danny Burnstein in "Follies" are all supporting roles where she broke through and made them more than that. Mr. Yacko, you nail this role along with the other roles you get in a long, impressive career.
Bless you and thank you! Veanne was brilliant as Amy. She helped me understand the Paul & Amy relationship by being her wonderfully kooky self while being absolutely irresistibly lovable. I agree - she is indeed highly underrated. Many thanks for your kind comments about me. I have been blessed over the years and still love what I get to do.
What’s it like to have been a part of one of the funniest moments in television history?
It was four days of fun and roller skating and some Improv. Chris is one of the nicest guys and at one point he asked me "What's that word they use in Cats all the time?" I said "You mean, Jellicle?" "Yeah, thanks" he said. Then on the next take with a day player, he said to her, "Don't be sad ,poor old Jellicle Hippo...". It was allI could do not to laugh. And watching Bob Elliott deliver a line like "Shoot me, Gladys, I'll give you a million bucks, just shoot me" was priceless.
Can you post the deal from this production?
The deal?
Now Tied with "Part Of Your World", "Someone Else's Story" stays stuck in my head!. Jodi gives such an emotive performance of both.
Very nice
She’s the most underrated icon we have
I have a recording of this on my phone with Veanna glad I was able to find a clip of it live this is a great cast
One of the best shows of all times! “
Too cute...
