If you’ve been having trouble finding video to change a broken backup camera on your Sonata hopefully this will help you. Here’s a link on eBay, but there are others also: www.ebay.ca/itm/Genuine-Rear-View-Backup-Reverse-Camera-j-For-11-14-HYUNDAI-Sonata-95760-3S102/323898584284?fits=Year:2011|Model:Sonata|Make:Hyundai|Trim:2.0T Limited Sedan 4-Door|Engine:2.0L 1998CC 122Cu. I replaced my backup camera for $37.55. For anyone checking how to do this, my car was made for America. The Hyundai on this video was made for Canada. There are several differences in this video than my hybrid. I didn’t have a screw to undo before taking the imitation Crome piece off, but I did have two long plastic pieces to squeeze together which will release the Crome piece. After that was off the rest was similar to this video. Thanks for posting
I got my backup cam from ali express for just $18 bucks 🤣
6 years ago the camera I could find was more expensive, glad it’s cheaper hope the video helped 👍
Cameras 40$ on Amazon
👍 not six years ago, though
i cant reach the side i need from the inside thank you video helps i just cant with my model it just sucks for me man 😂😂😂😂
Thank you! This is super helpful, especially going over the screws and what parts need to be removed.
Great video on all but did you just say $200 for a backup camera is a great deal?
Great video, do u know if this install is the same for 2012 Hyundai Sonata?
I’m fairly sure it would be exactly the same , the car design didn’t change between years from what I can see
Thank you!
thank god for this specific video. i didn’t even realize the back side was welded😂 i was struggling
Glad it helped 🙂
Please tell how and where to instal camera in hyndai sonata 2011(not replacement) and where to attach the connector. Thanks.
Watch my video.. I don’t understand your question
Your the best man. I watched your video and I'm able to install my camera myself and save a few hundred dollars. Keep up with the videos bro. Thanks for the vid.
Glad I could help 👍
Really so how do you hook it up to the radio in dash. What wires etc. missed half the steps.
Video was to replace camera only
PB Blaster is way better than WD40. Try it! Available at big box stores.
Very well done...folliwed what you did and IT worked perfect. I used plastic auto tools to remove silver thing...better way of doing that.
Glad it helped 👍👍
thanks for the vedeo its awsome
Glad it could help 👍😊
I’m getting a black screen with no line overlay, it was “scrambled” now it’s just black with no lines. Any thoughts?
I would suspect your display is the issue if screen is black ..
Hi I see u're in Montreal. Can you replace my camera and I pay you. I don't have a garage so I would love it if you can replace or clean mine( Mine works when it doesnt rain so I think its just some moisture in it). If you can. Email me at y_bargui @ hotmail .com I live in rive sud btw
Sorry, no can do
Great vid! Did you have to do any updates to the center screen computer/display? The one you got, you had to put sealant around it? Thank you 🤓
J. Lietka - no changes to the in car display , I just connected the new camera , which I sealed with silicone to keep out the road salt and water , glad it helped 👍
@@cfergyman i looked at where the camera mounts, but on my sonata, there isnt a camera to begin with. Thank you 🤓
I just bought a Hyundai Sonata Limited 2011 and 10 minutes off the dealership lot the camera stopped working and her shows a solid blue screen but the line pop up. Obvs Im beyond pissed, I set up a service appointment to get it looked at and fixed, I really hope it can be fixed that day but I guess that is unlikely if a part needs to be purchased. And they better be paying for it, I called right away and was like what the heck, I was promised this and it worked when test drove it so 100% they should be paying for it.. wish me luck!
Miriam I hope it works out! With a problem so soon after pulling out of the dealer I would assume they will cover this, again the part is not expensive and it’s easy to change, good luck
Hi Craig what is the part number or how would i find on ebay what you bought and hopefully you are happy with Thanks
Dale edmunds hello I Put a link in the description of the video also at 3:05 in the video you can see a part number there
Removing the old camera connector , which way does it slide out?
Mike Bulanda to the left
Thanks so much for the video, although I did not replace my camera, I did use the video to disassemble and clean the connection. I used electronic contact cleaner then a layer of dielectric grease on the connection, and everything is working again. The video was instrumental in taking it all apart though, definitely would have screwed it up without it!
Peggy Beahm glad it helped you 👍👍🙂
Dielectric grease - great idea! Thank you 🤓
Thank you for the excellent video. Some lessons learned from my experience. I replaced camera on 2013 Limited. 1) I did not have paint scraper to remove trim. I was able to easily access the outer clips (where lights removed and push those out. The next set of clips in can accessed with a long tool and popped up. Once a few were out it was easy to pull up on the whole piece. 2) The tray (shown at 2:40) was harder to remove than the trim. The tray penetrates the trunk frame in 4 places; two silver colored studs (the nuts for which were removed at 2:10) and two black plastic fins. The fin on the left (shown at 2:57) does not pass through the hole in the frame. I had to clear the studs and other black fin and then slide the tray to the right slightly and then pull out. Installation was opposite. 3) The camera power connection (3:41) is tricky. To disconnect properly you need to depress the tab on the right side and slide the power connection left. I didn't realize this and broke it off the slide. Did not really affect reassembly.
Fantastic video - I've just replaced the camera in a (new to me) 2012 2.0T Limited and this made it foolproof. Dealer wanted $500 - I bought an OEM camera from Amazon for $170 and did the rest myself following your steps. Cheers!
Mindfreak5150 glad I could help 👍
Can you send the amazon link please
@@jataysiahitchcock1053 This is the one I bought. Note that Amazon says it doesn't fit this vehicle but it was an exact replacement for mine. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EPXEW8O
What is the link for the part on Ebay.

No way in hell I would have been able to replace my 2013 camera without your help. Thanks for the great job. p.s. the trim piece is a bitch.
I had trouble getting the chrome piece off and was't sure what to do with the key lock for the truck but otherwise this is a great video. Thanks.
thanks for making this video!
My camera number is 95760-3S100 and the number on the new one is 95760-3S102 will it work because the dealer said there are 2 cameras and I have the more expensive one?
Frank Laprocina check online it depends on the year , mine is a 2011 sonata turbo limited. I. read this some where online-“ you do have the right part # but it has been replaced by 95760-3S102 Parts system does not tell the reason why its been replaced with a new part. so its up to you if you wanna go with the original or buy the "updated" part. “
@@cfergyman Mine is a 2011 limited non turbo I guess it should work
Thank you posting this video. I had a blue screen on my 2013 Sonata. About 30 minutes of work, less than $100 for the part, and now it works. I can't imagine what it would cost at the dealership.
David Gotwals They told me 800 for the camera at the dealer 😱
I have a blue screen on my sonata .i changed the camera that i got on ebay and i still have a blue screen.do you think the new camera is doa or it might be something else??
Patrick Cleroux was it an original Hyundai part ? Also you could double check the wiring harness for corrosion, and the new part is plugged in tightly. Don’t put it all back together to see if it works just check your screen. While you troubleshoot it , hope that helps
what is the link to the camera you purchased on eBay?

Thanks for the video!
Hi Craig! Can you tell me what tool you used to remove the chrome trim? Thanks
I used a paint scraper tool👍
Thank you for the video it is very helpful. The only part I am nervous about is removing the trim at the 2:15 mark. What tool is that you are using and do you have any other advise now that you have taken one off? Thank you.
It’s a paint scraper tool available at any hardware store 👍
Thank you for posting your success. Very helpful, and much appreciated. I need to check out my daughters, 2012 elantra, but the dealer says it's her monitor. Not sure how they troubleshot it. Her screen goes black, (in rev.), with the colored square borders only hi-lited. Curious how to isolate the camera.
What was wrong with your camera, my sonata is giving me a blue screen when i put it in reverse, issue into tend to kick in in winter, works fine in summer...not sure what it could be.
Hi, issue was I had a blue screen permanently, because of the salt from the road that got into the camera housing and corroded all the wires. If you look close at the camera there is a gap that salt and water can get through, after I replaced the camera I caulked the gap with silicone. Once you replace the camera the blue screen disappears and it’s fine, hope that helps
I have the same issue with my 2012 sonata. Seems to flicker... I'll try the repair once the weather gets warmer
cfergyman My uncle’s 2011 Sonata Limited has the blue screen as well but he’s not planning to fix it because he’s planning to buy a new car soon and I have a 2015 Kia Optima sxl and nothing seems to wrong with it I heard that it’s an newer updated backup camera
