not legal unless connected through a reverse safety switch, ie. impossible to turn on unless the vehicle is in reverse. At least that was the law in PA where I had to upgrade the BS reverse lights on my Monty Carlo with basically rear facing white foglights. But I did wire them directly to the reverse lights which meant they were switched by the safety switch and was legal enough to pass Pittsburgh safety inspection

Maybe check your brights or the lights of the person next to you. I have one hidden on my truck for assholes behind me with brights. It’s also my backup light cause I work in the dark a lot with window tint on my truck 😂

I drive a tow truck that has a spot light facing backwards. I’ve forgotten to turn it off and have made it way too far down a busy road before I noticed 😅 I feel terrible every time.

No not legal Chance they don’t know their own. I’ve got a led sign for tailgaters that can flip you off or wave thank you and sometimes I forget the middle finger light is on. As a full sized truck driver we do have big issues with people running up our asses so having rear facing lights on a switch is handy at times.
