In addition to the steam special, the Pacific also hauls freight from time to time. The Railroad's only customer at this point is the @#$%÷=/ Gravel Paint in Gainestown, which supplies Gravel to Indiana Southern in Petersburg.

Very cool that all the shots are in the same location. Wish those old cantilevers were still there. It doesn't have the same old coal country vibe anymore. Maybe it's the camera quality but it always seemed like a liminal space. Greg Scholl will be missed.
"Chicago & Northwestern Mainline West" was a staple of my childhood. I'd pop it in the VCR probably a good two to three times every month. One of my favorite railroad documentaries ever. Rest in peace, Mr. Scholl.

The first time I heard a steam loco was the Freedom train going by at track speed when I was on the C&O canal. I've been hooked ever since.

Oh he had FAR more then 3 steamers filmed. 614, 611, 3985, 844, 1218, 2101, 4449, 2472, and others are all found in GSVP films.

You should visit Japan. Go with eyes and mind open. I first went to Japan 12 years ago. I had some expectations but generally didn't know what to expect. Japan will change you and challenge you in many ways. I live my life differently now and I am a different person - I am more disciplined, more conscious of others and the world around me. @@evangaines2303
