The 1UP USA Trailer Hitch Bike Rack! Review!
This is a review on the 1UP USA trailer Hitch bike rack. This is the only rack you need to carry your bike around. The rack makes carrying my mountain bike around easy. For the bang for your buck the 1up trailer hitch bike rack truly delivers. The 1up USA trailer hitch rack is highly recommend and it will be the last rack you will buy. This rack is good for any kind of cycling and not just mountain biking.

how fast you were going when you were testing out the yakima frontloader
Nice bike. At 2:50, your tool lever (inserted into the axel) should point backward. Yours is forward and if you catch a branch down there it will yank you off your bike and also cause potential damage to your axel.
I travelled Europe for a year with a caravan and pickup last year. We had 2 of those Thule bike racks over the cargo bay. At different times both wheel clamps failed. We had a cable lock on each bike that saved them from wrecking. Highly recommend using a bungee cord wrapped on bike forks and wheels clamp to prevent clamp failure.
amazing
Ya kinda rode it backwards. All those would be more fun in the opposite direction. Try it again.
i did the medium one but i couldn’t the the tallest one 😢
Bad video!
Are you still using it? Any issues at all? I just got one and I am a bit concerned about the side to side wobbling, and thinking about using the around the bar mounts instead to get a larger contact area to the crossbars. The crossbars themselves will also bend, of course. That said, usually Thule knows their stuff. Play in itself is not a problem; overstressing the rack or crossbars could be but that is harder than you'd be inclined to think 🙂
Thanks for the catch!
Thanks for the heads up! Just bought a brand new one and sure enough that bolt was loose. It had blue threadlocker but I added more and torqued it to about 3 Nm. I also added blue threadlocker to the other bolt too. Why not. Haha
Got these at a thrift store brand new for 25$ I was apprehensive on buying them because they were a half size smaller then my normal shoes but after trying them on they got like a glove
When i go there I’m just send itt!!!
I ended up going with the Yakima HighRoad V2, similar concept but i think the design is better, plus it looks nicer too. Your video was helpful but
how is it ? I'm also checking that
@@RonaXYakima looks more aerodynamic in the front but honestly you can’t go wrong with this Thule one
I just finally committed to that one last weekend it’s hard to just to it but once you get over the fear of looking downs it’s really easy keep it up man
01:22 😨
Anychancw you can provide the link of the exact mount you have and roof rack bars?
you forgot show lock the clipper on the front bike.
😮😮😮
Thank you so much for this video! Just bought an upride today and after I saw this I was going to check if the screw in mine was tight enough. To my surprise there was no screw at all! And I was about to put a heavy e-bike on the rack. I hope I can find a spare part from a local hardware store.
@canyonero987 How did it work with an ebike for you in the end? I have a 21.7kg Canyon ebike and the max load for this rack is 20kg. I am just afraid it is going to flip from the roof.
@@bankouski mine weighs about 24kg. I've driven about 3500 km without problems so far. But I have not been pushing it. Low speed in tight corners and bad roads, no breaking hard etc.
@@Canyonero987 Thanks for the reply! I think I am going to try it but will be removing the battery to comply with the weight limits. How does it behave on the freeway for you? I know the limit is normally 120km/h in Europe (80miles/h). Do you ever get the feeling that the bike is going to fly away/flip? :)
@@bankouski on freeway it is just fine. The worst roads are small roads with potholes, bumps and such. They make the bike to oscillate from side to side. I've mounted the rack on a sports car with hard suspension and it may be different on some other car. Dunno
What's not helping the stability is the short gap between the crossbars.
I think it's partly because the crossbars were not that wide enough apart.
Great idea! O changed out my sealant the other day. Totally cleaned all the old sealant and so talked new sealant. I manually seated the bead on my rims and had zero problem pumping them up. I would suggest everyone learn how to manually seating the dead. It isn’t hard and takes very little time (maybe two minutes). Works great! I use a regular, cheap floor pump with no issues.
Great video and detailed explanation. Thanks a lot man. 👍
In Your opinion Thule Upride or Yakima Frontloader that You tested earlier? Im looking for some solution for lightweight XC Full bike.
The Thule Upride felt more secure than the Yakima Front Loader.
I think part of the issue is that with the aero cross bars and the way the rack slides in, it only has the two connection points (vs if you were sandwiching around a different bar with all 4 bolt holes it would be more secure). I zip tied through those and it helped a bit. But there’s other issues with this rack especially in cold weather - the two arms don’t always lock tougher, the plastic is brittle ….
Damn, thanks for posting this. I know you didn't crash on purpose, but happen to catch it on your helmet cam. Seeing this lets me know id ruin my watch pretty quick, I'm kinda a rough and tumble kinda guy too so it would get smashed pretty quick. Damnit this means the only option is the Ultra....argh $$$!!! lol
Thule UpRide or ProRide - which one is better/stable for MTB Hardtail? Thanks!
Hi there!! Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts on the 1UP bike rack!! We have 2 ebikes, so are looking for a double rack that has the ebike capacity. Their super duty does that ! We also take our bikes with us on our travel trailer trips. And, 1UP is one of the few racks that guarantees travel trailer compatability! Safe riding to you....and have a great weekend!
And that, boys and girls, is why you ALWAYS carry a multi tool.
Lesson learned!
I'll stick to the Yakima fork lock type ...mutch safer, more sturdy and the wheel housing for the front wheels...they look cool too...
Boyscout is not gnarly!
You don’t gotta fall to drop test it my man but we appreciate it 👍😂
you should get the stainless steel model, that has a sapphire screen instead of glass
Excellent vid! Thank you!!
I have this rack took it out the first time and the rack creeks idk if this is normal when the bike shakes side to side
Where did you get the roof bars from im buying the same bike rack and I have a 9th gen but I can’t find the bars
KE precio tiene ésa Scott en dólares
Rock shox
great video man...just a heades up transporting your bike like you have in the beginning is not good for your forks. Dirt bike forks are no big deal but mtb you can blow them out
Cool video! Thanks 🙏🏼
I ate it on the mile towards the end lol fell in poison oak. I need to conquer it!
I have 950 from 2020 and it is really good bike. I replaced srema NX RD and shifter with shimano XT M8100 and brake levers from mt 4100 to XT M8000 adn I love it. Bike can do anything, climbing, downhill, long rides, just great bike for money.
You didn’t have to go though all that to prove the Apple Watch series 7 scratches easily, you could have just put the watch in your pocket with a set of keys and walked around a bit, the series 7 has the worst screen ever made for an Apple Watch, but they are designed that way, how are they going to get you to buy the series 8.
Insurance my dude. I wear them until they’re so banged up I can’t stand it anymore then get a new one.
Getting it tomorrow, hope for some good rides
The wobble at 2.01 WOW. CONCERNING FOR ME.
Excellent review. I have one, but learned some things from your video. Cheers!
Jekdjeb ? Hjdk lab delib zjav 😆
Great video. Glad I stumbled upon it. I think after watching this video and a few others I may not go with this rack. I’m gonna go with the Yakima front loader instead.
How’s the front loader? I was looking at the high ride but maybe front loader is ok too
Yakoma dront loader
Link for the parts??
I knew it would get scratched up before watching the video 😂 love my Series 7 but they need gorilla glass
They need something for that much money we spend on them 😉
That is basically gorilla glas even tho not the newest, there is one with sapphire tho
I use a screen protector + a spigen case 🤷🏻♂️
