Invisible Disability/Illnesses. Sympathy is unwanted, empathy and respect are craved. We are called "attention seekers", our home is in desperate needed help at times. Our doctors grieve we have no friends or family to help, No one will talk to us about life. We smile, we are great actors - faking being well. We are lonely & wish we weren't here. We're responsible for what we do/say, ie. a brain injury. Love & protection isn't there like Alzheimer's. Pain, to much to explain, body pain. We smile, as we don't have cancer. Deep pain & solidary life, we learn to cope, with darts flying our way. We can't open up & talk to process and let go. What we say is taken wrong. That's complaining & of no interest. More education for the public taken seriously, healing would come faster, listening = healing, less suicide (all researched). Some give up - Faking it gets hard & realizing no one cares causes us to rely on exceptional doctors. For 22 yrs smiling. I'm a good actress. A+ Thriver!

Married to young, love never left. Through bittersweet heart aches and joy, their lives came back together when HE was 43 and SHE was 38. Again, they are together, although it hurt. It wasn't a choice they expected, and with mixed emotions they began to start their relationship again. AND happiness abounds. She has always respected us with great love, early morning coffee talks... we are thrill...

Part 2. The choir is spoiling me... standing ovations every time (twice)... They are a wonderful group- and all over 60, too!! This is an Invisible Disability at its best. I could hardly stand for weeks. I'd been to ER hospital and Nurse Practitioners at my home. I had given up. But, I wanted the choir to be proud!! Sometimes it's others who cause us to give our best! Not only was it a success,...

Our Community programs have ages 55 and over. Many are 70 . They sound beautiful, and hope you enjoy! This Channel is showing you - as someone with an invisible disability and pain - to keep pushing yourself if at all possible. Being asked to be the director, I doubt most know what I have been through and what I hide. But that's why I like hearing "But you look good"! A great program, a great c...

The Root of Customer and Patient Satisfaction
Переглядів 88 місяців тому
Doctors have asked for a patients view of healthcare. We hear of burnout, and it is a problem. It was a surprise when I saw much of the problem was simple. Satisfaction has a root, and thankfully I was trained by T Berry Brazelton, as his training encompasses all aspects. Work, home, relationships, etc. Much to work on... Cathy Healthcare educator
The Mask of Chronic Illness

People say "she is very sick", people say "she can't do much", even her family has said the same. I wonder if anyone really believes her? She looks good, she smiles, she is always in a good mood. What a faker! Yes, I am a faker. I fake being well all the time. Why? Because I discovered no one wants to understand, no one wants to discuss our ups and downs. In reality, it appears no one cares. I ...

Woah ....you guys are cute ..
You mean we should be modeling instead of doing what we are doing??? Great, in our 60's and discovered we were in the wrong business! lol. Thanks!
@@WoundedThrivers You guys look so amazing in your 60s..
Amen.
Thank you. I appreciate it as it's been a long journey. You might look at the you tube "Evidence of Harm". We all need to be educated.
@@WoundedThrivers Absolutely .

Healing comes from support. This was a great disappointment from my doctors. One needs help to do the things that will help us.l This is what I did to EXPRESS myself.
Many do not understand why those with ANY type of brain injury/issue may not be able to handle a crowd (crowd can be just a few people to a heavily populated restaurant). When a computer has too many tabs open -- it freezes! Maybe we should put the term "BRAIN FREEZE" in this incident! When the brain can't process all noise etc... it shuts down. Personally, I become very sleepy and it takes all I have NOT to fall asleep (which I'm not always successful). A neuro-service dog will typically alert their person before this situation happens. After getting my Service Dog, any situation like this, I was alerted BEFORE it hit me and could get out before this issue became evident. Unfortunately, it appears like a "drunk" and is embarrassing to the person and many times, the family. I have a husband who doesn't care and is protective of my "identity". It can embarrass others and children if they are not educated on TBI. Which is why I advocate for education for friends and family - to keep the patient and others from uncomfortable situations like this. If you have TBI, your comments are appreciated. If you do not have TBI...your observations and opinions are appreciated. Respectful language is only accepted.
Anyone would have a difficult time in that noisy place.
Well, it's just an ordinary restaurant! But it does sound bad on the video! :) Thanks for watching and responding!
You are a brave woman. I understand what you are saying and feeling. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you..... takes a while to not be embarrassed. Helping others gets more important.
Day Time Sleepiness or Silent Seizures?
I have had two TBIs with DI...no fun. Car accident the first time, then a neurologist didn't believe me, told me to close my eyes and he'd catch me...and he didn't. No fun. So I am a Rev. now, so I still get to teach and heal the sick. Taking a retreat to 'catch up' on my energy; starting again on Oct 10. You're invited, both of you! Just look under my "Collections" on my Profile Page, and catch a service or two.....hope you are uplifted! Rev. Margaret Aranda, MD, Ph.D.
Well, someday I'll tell my story of the SAME doctor (lol) who didn't believe me either. I knew I had a few days left to live, so had funeral plans. The only reason I am here is a new PA came in the room, and walked out and got Dr. Burton! Dr. B went into high mode and sure enough - after he did surgery and pulled out a inflammatory mass that was already getting necrotic - (hello sepsis!) he wasn't happy and I sure wasn't! I would LOVE to teach a class "How to talk to patients who are normal human beings!! Two plus years later, and we are still trying to get things under control. Dr. B felt horrible, and was very understanding when I began to experience rage. He knew what to do, and tho I was not really for it, I'm glad he was experienced enough to know what I needed! Most docs don't believe! Or even have a clue! I went to the ER to have a look at a gash to my bone with broken glass. When I showed them my "grocery list" (I never can remember what is all wrong with me), he said "don't worry , you will get better and be good as new"! WHAT...?? After 15 years, I'm happy to be stable! He was trying to be comforting. So the next class would be "How to TALK to someone with a Chronic Illness"!" Yes, I've seen your new endeavor ! I'll have to say, the medical field is missing a great doctor, but I understand!
