Thanks Man this was Very helpful!!!!
Good exercise but this should be with a warning. Do not do this with “any weight you choose” as stated. Because at 0:25, if you accidentally go too far outside, you can damage your wrist (near the little bone at the outside). Even with a low weight that could happen. It’s better to do this exercise with the forearm leaning on the leg, holding the dumbell at a 45 degree angle maximum, then rotate inwards to a vertical position and back to 45 degrees. Or even better: don’t use a dumbell, but a belt with some weights attached to it. By using a dumbell the weight is at a larger distance from the wrist (which makes injuries very likely to happen). Instead, keep the weight as close to the wrist as possible (horizontally).
even with no weights it can feel strange, i'd definitely only do this with like 5-10lbs
What does this target?
thanks moot
Very very helpful and insightful. Great video Chris!
Thanks
Hey! This vid is so full of knowledge! I have been trying to look for a UA-cam vid similar to yours that really teaches the topics in this video. 🙌Your lesson is similar to the vids of Doctor Ethan. Dr Ethan's tips are for sure useful and he helped me on my studies. He is the helpful Doctor on UA-cam and he teaches vaccines. Go check his YT out and give the Dr a subscribe! ➡️ #DrEthanEducation
Thanks g
Couldn't you also do that with your body weight?
You could, but it wouldn't be resistance training.

What combination of these moves should we combine into a post or pre run workout? Is there a certain amount of repetitions we should do?
Great exercise! In terms of running and muscles used, what does this work on? And what should be the focus during the exercise?
What kind of pylometrics would you recommend along with the Olympic lifts? Anything specific?
What exercises (muscular endurance, hypertrophy, strength, power) do you prioritize throughout each phase of a training block (off-season, preseason, competition, post-season)?
Yuta, that is a great question. It depends largely on the Indivudual athlete. Off season my priority is always motor control and movement pattern / quality. Hypertrophy is not a priority unless specifically needed to rehab a muscle. We actually focus alot on "power endurance," as athletics is usually repetitive bouts of power movements. We use a mix of traditional strength endurance and explosive work together during the pre/in season training phase!
Strength training routines for high school distance runners?
Hey! Yeah, we're actually planning out our strength training programs for running, including distance. We'll be sending out surveys and beta testing invitations in the near future - you can join our mailing list to be notified when that happens at www.kinesisintegrated.com. Thanks!
Do a video with the tin man demonstrating a lift wo
Yeah we'll get some shoots with the Tinman guys, thanks!
Very informative! Thank you for posting.
Great video. Any specific weight endurance runners should lift? Also, any upper body strength training needed? Thanks
Very informative! Thank you for posting.
Kevin! You're welcome thanks for watching and commenting!
Hey what did you major in college?
Hey Travis. I majored in physical education and then switched to exercise physiology!
Super informative. Keep it up! Throwing you a subscribe
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! We are putting out more for sure! Let us know if there is anything you want to hear about!
Thanks, hope you find this helpful! Questions - 1. What are the differences in strength workouts and drills between different training phases? 0:49 2. Plyometrics? Their usefulness/necessity? 6:29 3: What type of power or Olympic lifts do you have them doing? - 11:08 4: How often do you have your guys in circuit? And what time of the year do you hit it hard? 13:45 5. How to train and training philosophy - 15:30
Thanks for answering all our questions Chris! Always interesting to hear how to min/max strength training for competitive running. Looking forward to some training vids!
