The New River Land Trust (NRLT) is a non-profit conservation community service organization that has been helping landowners and other stakeholders conserve critical natural and cultural resources in Southwest Virginia since 2002. This work is carried out by the organization's staff with direction and oversight from a volunteer Board of Directors. Ferne Moschella is one of these directors who generously donate their time, expertise and inspiration to delivery of the organization's conservation services.
As a non-profit, the NRLT's conservation record of more than 57,000 acres conserved would not have been possible without financial support from individuals and businesses in the NRLT's service area. Starting in 2016, some of the community support has been set aside as an endowment to help ensure the NRLT's growth and sustainability. The endowment has helped the NRLT increase and diversify its conservation efforts.
Ferne's video and the series of other videos created and posted in 2024 are intended to generate awareness of the NRLT's conservation projects and encourage support for the organization including through the planned giving options outlined on the NRLT's website.
