Mock up complete and finalization of wiring in place. Here's a video with the passenger side wiring complete.
Awesome, it’s really nice to see the difference back to back and I’m sure it translates a lot at the shifter given its distance. I bought an e90 and wanted to tighten up the shifting. I came to the conclusion before this video that doing this upgrade along with replacing the socket bushing itself would be the easiest improvements and this just reinforces it! I’m sure the transmission side of the linkage could use some love too but I’ll start with this along with a fluid change and see how much of a difference it makes.
Drugs and violence 😂😂😂
Thank you for recording this from the vantage point. I also have this installed on my e90 m3 but currently experiencing a squeak when shifting when the transmission is warmed up. I can see from your video that the metal housing does move ever so slightly so I'm thinking thats the culprit. Here's my video of the issue: ua-cam.com/users/shortsC3LkPoex3uE
Glad I could help, I never had a squeak with mine.
Where do you pump the smoke into? The throttle body or any other place on the manifold?
Into TB elbow. You need to make a “cap” with a port so it can hold 1-2psi
That's it? You're not showing the work? What's the point of making a video of you spinning a pulley? Good God. Waste of time.
www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?2306435-S54-gt-Hellrot-E36-328I/page4 Video goes along with build thread. Front bearing into cover --> bearing backet/brace --> press stator into front bearing --> press rear bearing on --> install magnetic coil ring with clamps --> bolt rear half cover on --> solder 3 leads --> install VR --> rear plastic cover --> front pulley / DONE.
What improvements did you notice when driving with the TMS Poly bushing?
No NVH. Sharper shifting. I like it
@@RGAredgarage Thanks for the feedback. I have one I haven't installed yet.
@@934hifive no problem. Depending on your actual shifter and it’s age, bmw injects some rubber buffer in the handle that also adds slop. You can cross drill through and bolt/nut it and that adds more stability.
@@RGAredgarage I have a 2013 335i F30. I don't notice any slop in the handle itself. Do you have tips for installing this bushing? I've read it's pain to install since polyurethane is significantly stiffer than rubber.
Valve cover bolt grommet thing
What was it?
Can you make a video on how to retrofit the sport button on s54 swaped e36
very interesting to see what the Bush actually does 👍
Who tuned it?
Did the bushing add any NVH?
We're you able to engage R 1&2 with no bushing? Looks like it's not making it far enough over, I think I have this problem
Yes, easily. It was just “mushy”. The video shows N- R-1-2-3-4-5. You may need your detents serviced. I did mine and it was a world of difference. That or it’s internal to worn forks.
Sounds glorious!
7th gear :O
Harness was made by Andrew on R3Vlimited.
Thanks for sharing your Veido.Did you do the wire harness yourself or you bout it from eBay
It's a direct fit. The S54Z3M is considered an E36. If you can find one, get it, they're rare.
mdrus03 how extensive is the wiring?
Would this work for a m54 swap?
How much/where did you have to trim it to get it to fit?
Yes no more engine light after correcting the leak on the motor.
Hey man just wanted to see if it ended up fixing it or not thanks would help a lot
sweet!
Was the harness install a difficult task?
NIIIICE!!!
Cool man thanks, check bimmer forums and M3F for the in depth look. Itll help alot!
Awesome. Been following you and can't wait to do it to my e36 m next!!!
Issue was bent selector Rod
Excellent video! Thanks for posting Mdrus03. I am a bit puzzled by the "y" and the two lines going in though. I think just your bubbler line will do the job and simplify it further.
Added a few more videos of use to my page recently. Worked flawlessly and allowed me to find a lose valve cover bolt grommet.
check out the big brain on brett. Nice job dude. Thanks for sharing the idea.
I like the idea of a vacum check valve great idea... that way it will only flow one way and hold the pressure introduced into the system.
Pretty damn good
Can you do a video of what's inside the bottle to see where everything comes In. Like how much baby oil. Is there a tube going to the bottom from the top fitting. Just trying to understand how it works
just wondering what diesel vehicle the glow plug is out of for ease of going to the store and getting one. Not familiar with diesels.
Its true, I used a delco not sure what application it was from anymore. Ive used the machine to find a few more evap leaks since. Make sure you have a good flash light too.
Ever thought of making an extra one and selling it for $100?
LOL @ burnin' the baby fluid. Nice work man, very simple, best and easiest one I've come across. Thanks for sharing.
Turns out its a sticky lifer! Thanks
Interesting but I'm confused why you need TWO sources of air ?? I mean just the "bubbler" line will pressurize the bottle, no ? How full to you fill it when you use ?
Glad everyone's working it out.
Did you say you are using baby oil? Is that what you would recommend or would using something else work better? The way you have it works perfectly. The only thing I don't "see" is a regulator. But you did mention to regulate it at 2 psi. Are you doing that with an actual regulator or are you controlling it my modulating the air gun?
made mine out of a big monster can works like a charm ty
@sympatheticsun yes, it's just an aluminum drinking bottle and it will run as long as there is fluid and a power source.
@sympatheticsun
its just a standard aluminum pressure bottle for coffee or tea and cold beverages
There have been some concerns about introducing oxygen (air) into fuel vapors. Some claim it could be creating bomb. Have you come across this issue? I would think a check valve to prevent the fumes from hitting the ignition source (glow plug) might be a good safety feature.
gud vid bro, could you tell me what bottle you used? I am getting bit confused with the choice of the container or the bottle. And if you want to run the machine for long one go , then How long can it run without any interruption?
