Janet Williams, joined by Jane Harris and DeeDee Holt, presented information about the Chatham Climate Action Network, including the founding of C-CAN, its organization, purpose, and mission. Janet shared highlights of some of the events and activities they’ve organized, and urged us all to get informed, get engaged, come to upcoming events (such as the Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative's "Net Zero 2024" Conference entitled "Climate Actions for Everyone - reducing emissions, building resilience" on October 24, 2024 in Hyannis from 8:00 to 3:00 - register for free at capecodclimate.org/nz-24/), and meet people from other Cape Cod towns who are working in this area. Janet concluded the talk by suggesting that we all start showing up. "Make your voice heard. Go to select board hearings and zoning and conservation commission hearings that are impacting the resources that we are trying to protect. Ask tough questions. Be heard. Support the solutions... and get involved. Together, we can address these threats." (October 13, 2024)
