Damn I'm confused what's the definitive Tenchu 1!? I checked gamehacking and I see SLPS-01901 (I got and think it's *the* one?) then a newer identifier SLPS-02400. My 01901 I've been waiting to write is named Rittai Ninja Katsugeki - Tenchu - Shinobi Gaisen (Japan), gamehacking says 02400 as Tenchu - Shinobi Hyakusen

This is actually one hell of a hard game. Those bosses are hard if you don't have the right tools. I remember replaying the first mission like 20 times so I had enough stuff to keep going. Getting one spotted by a pit of doom is the worst. I remember mission 3 making me plenty salty.

I played this game for a very long time, Rin of the Beniya and Ayame of the Azuma Ninja Clan are top female assassins. Also, regarding Futaba, she has all the traits of a killer, but she has some weaknesses, and here they are: 1- she can't stay still in the shadows, that's why Ayame can predict Futaba's movements so easily. 2- She can't control her breathing, she tried to sneak up behind Zennosuke the head of Muzen, a group of assassins for hire the employed Tesshu Fujioka

I love how they made Ayame look older with almost no change at all in this game. Her clothing is less revealing; she wears earrings now. Most noticeably, the hair is longer in her ponytail... all signs of wizening with age, while being the same person. Less formal, far less hesitant and more experienced; surer of herself and every move she makes... ... and just as deadly, if not several times more. EDIT: (due to wanting to say more, after watching more) Rikimaru was, has and always will be Lord Gohda's shinobi -- most honorable and masterful of the Azuma. Ayame chose to follow Rikimaru, after they had lost all of their clan... but didn't have to. She also served Lord Gohda for quite some time, and has just as many years mastering the arts of the Azuma Ninja. Even after what befell the Azuma Ninja Clan, Rikimaru excelled beyond all others in treating Ayame as what she was -- her own person, and a masterful ninja in her own right. Even in the days of Lord Matsunoshin Gohda's rise to power amidst the coup orchestrated by his dear uncle; Ayame was always running after Princess Kiku, saving her, returning her home and guarding her against all threats; even her only ally when she believed Rikimaru to have been compromised. Rikimaru is Lord Gohda's shinobi, but Ayame was, has and always will be Princess Kiku's Shinobi. This focus on Rin... it doesn't suit Ayame. The Story leads us to expect Ayame to have some sort of compassion for Rin, but it is hollow; unearned. Unrefined and wily as Rin is, it is fitting for Ayame to be cold to Rin -- the fact that her origins begin similarly to Ayame's earns her nothing. ... After all, Ayame shed all the tears she had in life, when she was half Rin's size. 42:25 they gave this jobber more character in like 20 seconds than they've given to Rin throughout. No flowy exposition, no elevated status with the Plot -- just saying one thing and then showing you what he's about. I wanna see what Kichigorou brings to the land of Gohda more than Rin, for sure...

23:20 the flaw in the writting is how tesshe would know that rikimaru would be in the castle ? rikimaru could be in the azuma ninja village or in any other place doin another mission for his lord.

I liked playing with Tesshu more than I did the main characters. My man was SURGICAL with the kills. Wish he had a longer game play. Revive this game and have Tesshu as a main character and have Mizu (Blue Eye Samurai-Netflix) as a guest character.

I remember playing some kind of multiplayer versus mode with my friend and brother when I was young. I remember being able to choose a bunch of different characters, and they all had their own unique abilities. I vividly remember picking some guy with a gun and my friend being like "WTF? Why do you get a GUN?! That's not fair..." lol
