DVD & BLU RAY UPDATE | October 2024
Here’s everything that I picked up in October 2024
Please ignore the slight hum in the background of the video, the basement has a dehumidifying unit that runs when needed. Gotta keep the collection fresh and free of damp.

Hi James, Fine update buddy, "Furiosa- A Mad Max saga" is a decent movie if one forgets about Mad Max, entertaining it was & Chris Hemsworth is excellent in it, you gotta love "Action Jackson" a missed opportunity with Carl Weathers who could of been a very good action star as he certainly looked the part. If you like Roy Scheider in movies i"d recommend "The Seven ups" or "52 pick up" if not seen buddy. Hope all is well buddy.
Great pick ups there mate 👍🏻 Love Insomnia! That Nic Cage box set is brilliant, I picked it up years back mostly for Adaptation, but pretty much anything in there is brilliant. I had very similar to u about longlegs. Started off with great vibe but by the time it ended I was underwhelmed 😶
Yeah, I really wish long legs maintain the energy started with if it had done I think it would’ve been one of the all-time greats I’m looking forward to getting stuck into that box set mate. Thanks for watching Ash. I hope you and yours are well.
If your happy with dvd it's your choice 👍🏻🤔🤔 the island is soooooo crazy but sooooo entertaining 😅nice pickups mate 👍🏻
Thanks, buddy. Appreciate you watching yes the island is a crazy film, but I loved it. I couldn’t help but think at the end though how is Michael Caine going to explain all this to the Coast Guard? 🤣🤣 I hope you’re keeping well, mate ?
Hi James thanks for sharing, a movie fan"s exhibition & for sure a worthy video on the channel, looks like yourself & Laura had a great day at this Batman unmasked exhibition , cool footage buddy 👍
Thank you, Carlos mate appreciate that, it was a great day and really something special to be in the same room as so many of the iconic props and set pieces from some of my favourite films
Hi James, A superb finale of the building of your movie cave, all the hard work & money put into has been all worth it, so super congrats ! I expected to see some Indiana Jones & Bond bits as you"re a huge fan, thanks for sharing, grand job James. 👍
Some comments.....comments, comments, comments, comments, comments 😆😆
Just wow..
Don’t bother buying DVDs anymore mate stick to 4k and blu ray, proper waste like
Great video champ ! Dagon is a film ive wanted to watch for yonks, which is one I'll defiantly be picking up uo at some point to add to my physical catalogue of media.
@@AllThingsFilmWithYamYam me too mate it was my friends copy. But I’d definitely watch it again
Enjoyed watching this one through guys . Be interested to see it on a regular basis when you have your movie night's 😎👍 Likewise I've not seen Dagon so I've added it to my list 😁
We’ve been having these nights since we were about 14 (so bloody long time) and I don’t know why it’s taken us all these years to consider filming it. But I definitely would be up for doing more. Now that we’re all busy with lives and families we don’t see each other anywhere near as often as we used to do so I can’t see it being a regular series. But definitely something that I would happily upload when we get together.
@@JTATTHEMOVIES yes that'd still be cool to watch from time to time.. me and my mate James do the From Horror to Hollywood episodes randomly and also joint pickups video from time to time and they always seem to go down well 😎👍
Great video. This would make a great series for your channel
I thoroughly enjoyed it too, and the thought had crossed my mind. Lyndon and my other friend James who usually joins us are welcome any time on the channel. Due to our busy lives we don’t see each other as often as we might like so I can’t see becoming a regular thing but they will definitely return I could potentially spin it into a series with different guests. As I have plenty of other friends that watch movies as well. This might have sparked an idea, mate. Thank you for your comment.
I am looking forward to the next time already my friend. A lifelong tradition that will live on forever. After rewatching Mulholand drive I have completely changed my mind but, Until the next time
Dagon reminds me of the Game Resident Evil 4
Started doing this at least on mass produced studio films. Using the djois/t3l brand. They actually look pretty nice in these covers. Plus I heard that over time original plastic cases can start to degrade and it's not great for the discs.
Funko pop tastic 😍
4:57 You can't beat a good shitty shark movie lol they can't all be JAWS 😁 10:52 Have you seen Brian De Palma's Body Double? same sort of movie but way better
I have seen it a long time ago and remember enjoying it! Thanks for watching
26:53 oooh I've also got an LG blu-ray player their BP250 what's your model? I'm thinking of getting a region free version of the model as it's a great little player
9:57 WOW James, that is a lovely sight, I'm so inspired, yeah it's very reminiscent of Cinema Sickness i loved Dave's basement library unfortunately it doesn't exist anymore but hey there's always you, I've just discovered your channel, Spiderman Strikes Back wow I remember going to see that as a double feature with Sinbad's and The Eye Of The Tiger, I particularly love that you still hold on to the DVD copy of the movies after you upgrade to blu-ray, me too 😁 21:02 cool mask, what a fantastic place to just hang out in, all the best SharreI 😍😍😍😍 25:00 Jeremy Bullock didn't actually do the voice James lol it was Jason Wingreen
Where do you get plastic sleeves for dvds out of case?
Amazon buddy! amzn.eu/d/1fQgx8P
Hi James, I felt the same about Furiosa, I went in thinking it was going to be average and was pleasantly surprised 🧐 yeah Action Jackson is a tongue twister to me too 🤣 I thoroughly enjoyed Sting (but I used to breed tarantulas, so love a big spider) Disturbia is underrated, it’s a solid watch 👌 Single White Female is a very good psychological thriller and it aged very well 👍I will be grabbing Late Night With The Devil, nice one mate, take care👍😃👍
Some very nice grabs there matey.. I really enjoyed First Omen so that's ill grab at some point for the collection and a rewatch 😎👍 Only recently watched Peeping Tom but really enjoyed it so definitely one I'll try to grab in my local HMV whilst that offers on 😎👍
Thank you for watching my friend. Hope you’re keeping well. 😄
And I think I’m going to watch both of those films this month given that it’s spooky season
Some great pick ups 👍 I’m a fairly new subscriber, but I love your content already. Love the movie cave too! You create a very chilled atmosphere. Take care. 😊
@@h_loves_movies thank you buddy for this lovely comment and for subscribing that really means a lot. I’m glad you like the cave. I’m very proud of it. I must say. Cheers James
Some top pick ups mate 👌🏻
@@popcornandhorror thank you Ash. Hope you’re keeping well, mate.
Do you have a letterboxd i can follow?
I haven’t used it in years sorry 😞
Lovely gifts from Carlos.. See No Evil and Stir Crazy are X2 of my all time fav comedies 😎👍
Hi James, I’ve recently watched both Gold and Shout At The Devil, both films are a lot of fun, I’ve been discovering a lot of Roger Moores films lately 🧐 Tulsa King is very cool, season 2 has just started airing on Paramount Plus. Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor were so funny together, 👌I’ve not seen We Were Soldiers in ages, one that could do with a revisit 🤔 Carlos is a generous man 🙌 nice one James, take care mate👍😃👍
Hi James, We all have our chill out cartoons, movies & tv shows to sometimes switch off, original Looney tunes, Tom & Jerry & the Laurel & Hardy movies are among my switch off material to make my bad day become great again with laughter, i will say the original Scooby Doo series was my fav, Scrappy was a okay add on but then became quite annoying after a while for me. Something different to the channel indeed.
Hi James, We"ve all missed some essential movies along the way & the odd few skipped us by for some reason, "Saturday night fever" was always on tv back in the day but i"d always watched the theatrical cut until i found that there was a more of a adult version & its a much different & surprised me. 😮Not seen "Cool Hand Luke" its a absolute classic & a top 10 movie for me, so many iconic & famous scenes & the car washing scene is hilarious, George Kennedy 🤣🤣🤣every time, you"ll have a blast with that classic. I too haven"t seen "Lawrence of Arabia" mainly because the running time has put me off for some reason & its my no.1 must see movie in full as i have watched bits before, "One flew over the cuckoo"s nest" a classic & you"ll highly rate afterwards i"m sure. "Scarface" a gangster classic for sure, get watching i say at some point ha, ha !!!
Hi James, Looking great with the new set up, cool contact you have now with the local wharehouse of movies 😎👍, of course you being a huge Bond fan that edition you had to get for the collection. ‘Firefox” “Space Cowboys” 👍👍, Good bargain prices on those “Gone with the wind” & “The Maltese Falcon” steelbooks .
Hi James, On a catch up on your vids, the hard & costly work makes it all worthwhile 😎& perfectly made for a movie man cave 👍
Very generous gifts. See no evil hear no evil is an absolute classic, I like stor crazy but much prefer see no evil hear now evil. I've never seen Tulsa king, I never knew Stallone did a telly series to be honest so that'd be an interesting one to check out. Also I've never seen gold or shout of the devil, I've actually only seen 1 film with roger Moore in and that's "the quest" i also have "man who haunted himself" so i may check that one out soon. And "we were soldiers" is great, it's actually my all-time favourite war film. With Clint Eastwood's heartbreak ridge as my second. Great gifts champ, hopefully you'll enjoy them.
Hi James, Thanks for your kind words buddy, of course I know these movies are going to a genuine movie fan & to a good home, I’m sure those Roger Moore movies will be worthwhile watches & the much underrated “We were soldiers” is one those war movies that is kind of forgotten these days which I’m sure you’ll like too, take care & we’ll speak soon 😎👊👍
Thanks for this lovely comment mate and again for the generous gift.

Hi James and Laura, excellent video, the BatMan Tumbler is an incredible vehicle, I’d love to have a drive in it. Cool exhibit, I’d love to visit 👌 thanks for the look around, take care👍😃👍
Thanks for watching Alan! I hope you’re keeping well, mate. The exhibition moved to London in September, which is a bit closer to you though I’m not sure how long it’s running. It was a really great day out and as a lifelong Batman fan it was a dream come true to see some of this stuff in person😊
Looks amazing mate, new sub! I know what it’s like everything changing when you become a new dad! Only difference I had no other room to move in so had to get proper creative storing a 4600+ movie collection 😂 should be extremely proud mate looks amazing!
Thank you son much mate, really appreciate these kind words
Amazing I'm so jealous well done brother well done.
If I flatten the sleeves, how can I read what movie it is?
I try and keep them alphabetical and then flip through them like LPs Cheers
We did that with about 40 percent of our collection. But year later find myself putting them back in cases.
Fair enough mate, I suppose that is the beauty of doing this. it can be easily reversed if we change our preferences Cheers
Hi mate Just started watching your content as I have started collecting myself. What do you do with the card sleeves that many media come in ?
Hiya, I keep most on the actual cases on the shelf but any that I have removed due to size restrictions etc are just in a draw in the TV cabinet - cheers
We loved watching this James! We’re super jealous but so pleased for you. It’s a dream of ours too so I can imagine what it means to you to have this. I loved all the stories behind your different pieces and the sentimental reasons for parts of your collection. The room is looking fabulous!!! Thanks so much for bringing us on your journey! 🙂
Looks great 👍
Awesome collection room James, looks fantastic, congrats. New of your videos I’ve seen. Subscribed and will check out your others. All the best, cheers.
Thank you for this kind comment Adam. I’m glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for subscribing to the channel as well 😃
Very nice. Hard to believe its the same room from the first video.
It’s really crazy isn’t it, I can’t believe the transformation either every time I go down there. Cheers for watching
@@JTATTHEMOVIES it really is, and your welcome champ.
Brilliant video James 🤩🍿🙌🎸🎶 So much cool memorabilia and displays and shelves; really awesome tour; you done this Movie room cave absolute justice; looks amazing; well done on 800 subs; hope you having a class Bank Holiday buddy 😀🍿🎸🎶
Thank you Sam mate appreciate your kind word and support matey 😃
I have a sealed 4K of cool hand luke I still need to get around to watching
I know I have unwatched movies sitting on my shelves but I started watching the backlog last year and I'm slowly catching up
Great tour mate 👍🏻 looks brilliant 😎👍🏻 just got myself a similar tv, not bad at all for the money. Great work mate 👍🏻
Cheers, Ash! Yes, I’m very happy with it undoubtedly there are better models out there, as somebody’s pointed out to me in the comments of this video. But for the money, it’s bloody fantastic. Cheers mate, hope you’re keeping well
@JTATTHEMOVIES yeah doing great mate thanks, 👍🏻
Liam here, can we watch 1408 please instead of rubber again
Which cut mate, there’s 2 and ones shit haha 😝
@@JTATTHEMOVIES the shit one please
Great room and collection, but all that effort and (i assume) money and you go for a Hisense TV? The room deserves better!
Very nice matey.. loving all the XFiles stuff... Massive fan over the years hence my UA-cam name lol Haven't seen Lone Gunmen in years so definitely need to rewatch that coming up soon 😎👍
@@XFile2708 I enjoyed TLG but not as much as the main show which is my favourite show of all time Glad you enjoyed the tour my mate! 😁
