2013 Lincoln MKX AC Problem
Переглядів 32 тис.6 років тому
Driver seat hot air blowing out while passenger seat blowing cold air.
Yeah I would've like to see you actually do it, this battery is kinda different
Hi there! I found your video several years ago… I was on a road trip traveling out west in the middle of a desert when this problem occurred- life saver!!! Fast forward a to present day- years later I am experiencing same issues and I went desperately looking for your video again- after tons of more current videos instructing to replace parts and etc. I found your video again 🙏 I’m aware that if problem persist I may have to replace part- but in the meantime this quick easy trick does the job!! Thank you so much for this and saving me and my family time and money. God bless you ❤
Love from Connecticut it works 🎉🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶
I found an egg inside mine.
It would be best if you just show us during the video
Just unclamp the top of the air cleaner top and move it forward. This gives you enough room to get the battery out and in. Remember to reposition the air cleaner top and reclamp it after you get the new battery into position.
Actually do it bro wtf
This 3 and a half minute video saved me from certain heat stroke on a long summer trip across the south. Thank you for your help.
This applies to the MKS as well????
Thank you! Saved me again! Arizona summers are brutal! Easy fix!
Thanks!! Worked for me!
Thank you so much it works🥰🥰
Man it will just happen again at a later date, you did it fix anything. It needs to be replaced because it’s a bad design. Had you just shut the car off and come back a hour later you would have gotten the same result. You might as well order one and keep it on hand until it fails permanently. Good luck!
No, I have done this fix before. Lasted about a year and cost nothing. The blend door motor looses it's "zero" and then the system goes wonky.
Me too. Did this fix on mother inlaws MKX and it worked for about a year. Then I did it again and it worked for another year.
Just had the same problem and this fixed it on the drivers side...thanks. I guess if it happens on the passenger side you have to do the same thing after pulling out the glove compartment.
Ridiculous to have such a nice beautiful new car in these kind of problems you can't buy any car decent today I guess ugh!
Lincoln MKX is a great car but it has a couple of crappy parts on it like the blend door actuator and the shifter position switch.
My air touch screen stuck on high heat
My problem was a bit different. Blows cold air on the drivers side and hot air on the passenger side, despite jacking up the temp. on both sides to max heat. I disconnected the green connector on the drivers side and this fixed the problem....the 1st time. Its been almost a year and now the same problem has occurred, but this easy fix will no longer work. From other UA-cam posts, it appears that the drivers side actuator that the green plug goes into may now be failed....for good. These actuators for the blend doors (there are a few of them, including the passenger side) are known to fail. Go to Rockauto.com and look up Lincoln MKX for the parts, under the heat and air conditioning sub section.
Holy crap. That worked!
I went in the My Info system on dash and went to settings, then Master reset. Told it to reset, and both actuators started working properly. Hope this helps and saves you a few $$$. Let’s see how long that lasts. Just for back ground... passenger side started blowing hot air, then drivers side. Could both fail at same time? Who knows...
Update... lasted about two weeks. Then, it was drivers side hot, then passenger side hot, etc. I had blend doors functionality checked and I learned there is a software update from Ford dealership that’s corrects the issue. Had update installed... no problems for a month now. Fingers crossed.
Nov.12th... still functions as the should.
omg! this just worked, just bought this car used, and i have been so sad there was something wrong. thank you so much!!
@@bobsedoris4760 how did you update the software?
@@MsMinnie63 following!
Thank you so very much!!!!
Thanks so much! My husband did the power button and defrost button technique and it worked. (2012 MKX) Side note: my husband noticed before even doing this that when he used the remote start the ac was blowing on both sides so we were pretty confident that the problem you described here was the issue and not the compressor.
After reading your comment I started pressing my power and defrost button and my ac worked good thank you!!
@@luckyleo24 happy to hear! I’ve been having to do it rather frequently so I know it’s time to get the part changed.
Actually if you hold the power button and the defrost button-down together for at least a minute it will reset it as well
What power button? The ac or car?
@@PGriffith502 I held the power to air and defrost together and it worked for me after a couple tries. I did it just now (night time) it cycled through ambient floor lighting colors after. When I switched back to AC blowing to front, presto. Problem fixed. Good luck
Wow! I just tried this and it worked. I can’t hardly believe it. I actually have bought a passenger side blend door actuator and was not looking forward to replacing it because it look like a pain in the butt. The green wire thing didn’t work at least not at first but the power button and defrost thing did thanks again so so much.
Thank you soooo much 'love great places' this worked like a charm!
Now that this works so well for me (2013 Lincoln MKX Passenger Side blowing hot) I thought I’d add a little detail. Unfortunately, for me this summer I’ve had to do this reset too many times but I’m thankful that it’s easy to do and it works. I have found that holding the defrost and the AC power only works IF while holding it the defrost is NOT running. Takes a couple of tries to catch it right. Also I found I don’t need to hold it for a minute about 30 seconds is enough. You know it worked when you let go and the system is kind of confused and takes about five or 10 seconds to fire back up.
This is BRILLIANT !!!
Tried this with my Dad’s 2014 Lincoln MKX, DID NOT WORK. Driver’s side still blows hot air. It was worth a try though.
I just tried and it doesn’t work ! The driver side is blowing super hot 🥵 air and the driver side is cold 🥶 And it’s summer any other ways
Just happened on my 2015 MKX. Unplug then re-plug green connector. Worked like a charm. You are the man!!!!
What exactly is that connector?
Derek it connects to the blend door actuator on the drivers side. Ford/Lincoln blend door motors tend to go and need replacing
@@stevew1268 so hard to replace. The passenger side. Struggling atm
thank it's work thank so munch
Worked brilliantly! Thanks!
You are a life saver! Thank you so much! 😘
So far it’s working nice
not work for me in 2013 mkx
How you fix yours
@@yungforeignerg194 nothing ' the car automatically fix itself
Also you can hold the a/c power button and the defrost button (at the same time) for 5 seconds then release both at the same time. It resets the a/c and will work fine. You’re welcome hehe
It worked! Thank You!!! What happened in the first place? Is something going bad?
Andrew Martinez Is that with the engine off? Or with the key on? Or with the car running?
Great! Thank you. It works now, That saved a $100 service call.
Thank you - the heat is working now, but now I can't get the air to come back on, lol. Do you think the wire is loose of something?
Thank you, it worked!
