Nice smooth flow, awesome balance in the footwork especially with the fancy spins. And those Zwerchs looked clean!

A year late, but for anyone interested, Pin Oats are also called Steel Cut Oats. The oats are cut/ground by steel burrs as opposed to being essentially smashed like the oats people are used to getting. Steel Cut has a much better texture and tooth. I had to laugh at the butter churning. When I was a wee lad back in the 60s mom would skim the cream off the milk that was delivered in bottles. I thought it was cool at first to shake the quart jar to make butter. That got old. When I was between 2nd and 3rd grade we moved to a farm that came with a Gurnsey milk cow. I still did the churning part but with a Daisy hand-cranked churn. A LOT easier. I still have that Daisy and the one that was my MIL's. Being an old country boy has its advantages when it comes to old, keep-you-alive, and basic skills. Thanks for doing some historical meals. I'm 30% Scot by DNA so it's a nice touch.

In England they feed oats to their horses and they have the world's finest horses. In Scotland,we feed oats to our men ...

This is excellent. Your sense of rhythm and timing is really good, but equally impressive to me is the control and dynamics. I hope you're still drumming away!

Sitting here trying to pause at a good time to see which Krieger sentinel blade you have haha. Guessing the R2. Beautiful sword Also great information, never knew that before but it makes a lot of sense. The old sagas have so much cool stuff in them that later times drew from.

Meanwhile Swedes are banned from wearing pocket knives in public spaces on pain of six months in prison. Because of imported criminal gangs waging turf wars with Ak's, hand grenades and bombs. Makes total sense.

One of the first armed martial arts styles I learned was espada y daga in fma. Funny thing is that prior machete skill translates beautifully to falchion when I got into buhurt 😂

the SCOTTISH DIRK is similar in shape and size to various types of bayonets in the early 20 century and they can be used with similar techniques in the hand

Nice video, though the Bollock dagger might have been one influence, some researchers also see the Irish Skean as another. The movements shown here look familiar to me 😁so this might be her own research or basing on what is shown in the videos I made together with Fandanidozi channel. However if someone wants to pick up the Scottish Dirk and train, there is a complete video lesson series, which I offer in my channel.

If you can get Paul Wagners “Highland Broadsword”, you’ll have a better foundation than “ScottishFencing” can possibly provide. The book is out of print, but I’ve seen it on Etsy. Henry Angelo’s Highland Broadswoed 10 exercises chart is hands-down the best place to begin training in Highland Broadsword. I’ve been training and interpreting historical fencing texts since 2005, and Angelo was the easiest place to cut my teeth for this particular weapon.

You use an open technique, like many others, but the Bukijutsu technique opens up these weapons much more widely. There is even a technique for countering automatic firearms. It doesn’t help against artillery shelling, but it has helped many times to free hostages in Ukraine. It’s generally nonsense when a country’s troops take their own population hostage, and this happens all the time there.
