Havana is a dead city...no joy and no more throngs of good looking girls walking around....what is left is just the remaining dregs of society...most of the nice folks have already left the island.

Yes it is ! Unfortunately the drone doesn’t really do it justice. Osmena Peak is a beautiful place not that challenging of a hike , and worth the view !

@@bigdreamsphilippines We both love it here. Just waiting on her visa to USA. If she dont get it we are going to Da Nang Vietnam. One of the issues I have with the Philippines is there are no Big Cities right on the ocean with nice beaches. You either live in a city or a beach with little to no amenities.
@@solointhephilippines Da Nang will be a great choice ! Inexpensive housing , food and great beach ! Infrastructure is very good also !

Am guessing you are staying in Moalboal, how do you like the area of Moalboal to stay at? Know that there are a lot of tourists in that area. Have a great day!
Thanks for watching. I always appreciate your comments ! Osmena is a steep hike but if you take your time it’s not bad . The view from the top is amazing. The camera just can’t really do it justice . Moalboal is a great place but it can get a bit hectic. The great thing is everything you need is there . I’ve stayed there several times now and I love that it’s a great “hub for southern Cebu “ you can take day trips and go to mountains waterfalls and many other beautiful places. On my next trip in a few weeks I’ll be exploring some of the more remote islands of northern Cebu also. Take care my friend!

I spent a week in Havana recently and I found much of what you described in your video, amazing people in an amazing city.

Cuba is charming in spite of its poverty … and maybe, because of it. But it is misunderstood by most Americans and Europeans. Keep in mind that 98% of Cubans who approach a tourist are what are known as “Jinateros” (pronounced Hee-Ne-Tero). It means Jockey…only in this case, they ride the tourists. While your friend here does not appear to be of the dangerous variety of Jinetero (the worst of them can be very dangerous), he is not exactly with you out of the goodness of his heart. He is hoping to sell you something, anything… even if it is just for being a tour guide. The downside of this is that half the things he told you in this video are, at best, wrong. The rest was a mix of terrible English and a lot of (BS. You had assumed that when he said “Bleating” that it was a Spanish word for “Barrio” when in fact what he was trying to say was “building” but with his poor English, it came out as “Bleating”. He also was saying that Cuba was safe when it is actually experiencing a surge in violent crime, including murder. Mind you, it’s still safer than parts of LA or Chicago but it is not a place you want to walk alone late at night, especially if you have been drinking. You were, in a sense, lucky. This walkway you went to is merely called “Prado”…but like many streets and locations, it can have 2 or 3 names, many being PRE-revolution and POST-revolution. A bit confusing to the tourists…and sometimes, even to the Cubans themselves. Personally I can take Havana for about 3 days and then, I have to get out of there and go to the provinces. Havana is intense and a hustle. Trinidad is my favorite place, about a five hour taxi (or bus) ride. Many of these taxis (or “collectivos” because you share it with other passengers), have become expensive and more rare because of Cuba’s fuel shortages. I enjoyed your openness and kindness in this video. You are a fellow traveler and like myself, you prefer the the other parts of Cuba which have little to do with the circus and ugliness of tourism. I go to Cuba quite often. If you ever go back, I would be glad to walk Havana with you and share what I know! Take care, comrade!

I recently visited Havana and it’s like nowhere else in the world, it’s stunningly beautiful.
I totally agree it’s like stepping back in time . Havana feels like a living museum of vibrant history and culture. I’ll be honest I fell in love with the place from a visual perspective. I realize the people are struggling and I helped a few but felt I could have done more ! I had no idea until I talked with Cubans of the daily struggle there . I am planning the next trip. And I will take many more supplies for the people. Thx for your comment.

@@RealMaxwell thank you 🙏🏻. We have definitely been mislead. Cuba 🇨🇺 is definitely one ☝️ of my go to locations going forward. The biggest drawback is the fact our cards don’t work and , feeling terrible for the people there .They are struggling. But us going there helps .
Just got back from old Havana yesterday. It was great! The Cuban art factory was amazing! It’s a great weekend trip to just get away.
One of my regrets is that I did not make it to Cuban Art Factory. I was so exhausted from walking all day I basically stayed in my neighborhood (Centro Havana ) at night which was awesome. I wish I had found Cuba earlier. What a great place , I’ll definitely be back ! Thanks for watching and commenting ! Have a great day !
