The narration is excellent, however the Cinderella storyline,with all her baggage that she drags about like a billboard is tiresome. It seems to be a crossover between Cinderella,Snow White and little Red Riding Hood ,all rolled into one big catastrophic alliance .We can assume for the romantic story line's sake ,that they will be a happy ever after😢. However we do know of that forever tragic ending of Cinderella after her marriage with Prince Charming .

Just finished. Exciting story. Perfect narrator. So many twists and turns. Adore the two main characters. ❤

Amazing the lady chose to become a paid mistress ( actually) trollop,and refusing the offer to become a singer or return to Charles. Actually Jane has the character of a brothel mistress, negotiating the terms of sexual favors,in case of pregnancy, and monies to be given until her 25 birthday.After 25 she will receive her inheritance . After enjoying much coitus with His Grace , she then wants a virginal coming out party .By that time , the mask was off and Jane had completely turned into the haughty floozie she always was .A floozie for a flounder , may I say.Narration was excellent .

Excellent story and narration

34 min and 50 seconds, and I can't take it one second longer. Not sure if it's the writing or the narration, neither of which is "amiable," as they would have put it way back then. Very disappointing.

Beautiful storytelling, beautifully done.Our hero is absolutely 1st class.Lady G is presented unrealistically as a beautiful, mature woman who men are still attracted to,which was important for the story.However in the Ton a hobbling lady with such a disability would have been hidden away by her family because such disabilities were considered horrible.A woman especially with a titke would not be out dancing at a ball with gentleman seeking her company. I didn't know why lady G , in her 6th month of pregnancy would be out jumping hedges on a horse.I guess I read the book for enjoyment not for logic. 😂

This is such a beautiful story of love and overcoming pain and delightful reaching out and loving across the wide divide of class differences . I've listened to this very successful audio serveral times. Thank you for posting this lovely audio. Would you take a listen to the other "Survival" videos, especially "Only a kiss". These books have great depth of understanding of the brutality of war, and the overcoming of the brokenness.

The story is interesting so I'm sticking. The narrator is ok, a little different but that's fine. Bookmark 1.37

“The Group; Survivors Club” Possibly one of the best studies in human sciences I’ve had good fortune of reading/listening. “The Proposal” is such good no, great beginning. My husband & I married between Tours of VietNam, he ret’d (1) mo after the end of “TET” wicked terrible year of fighting. Most of our contemporaries were killed or maimed & his Battalion knew on returning, in (5) mos they’d return. He’s a Civil Engineer & drafted immediately after college graduation. Our group was based in Narragansett, RI @ Seabee Base, the only arm of service which served (2) Tours in NAM. So relationship of Survivors Club was much like our time together 250+ yrs later, but no differently due to plague of War. I thank you Mary Balogh’s, so useful a tool for all the times of conflict brought home, expected to go on living. Each of the books in the series shares them all healing, ❤️‍🩹

Unbelievably no remarks!? … writings by one of the Best Authors of our time plus a “free theatre” for use of my imagination. Best of all (1) of a series explains the strengths of Women of the time as second class to men & how they overcome that dubious belief. Harboring their secrets in the excellence of Mary Balogh’s “words” & brilliance of the Narrative by a wondrous Narrator AND ALL FOR FREE⁉️

This book was such a disappointment. First ,the narration with that scratchy, sounded like Dracula with a sore throat. Secondly, the story and characters are boring.The story doesn't work with all the sex.You need a good plot, which this book is missing.

You know i have listened to so many audiobooks, be it mafia rom, paranormal rom and the likes but this one made me cry. It was such a beautiful heartwrenching story. The manipulation, the cruel sadistic psychopathic characters was so real life. Thank you for this.

I have always been one to read a book, I understood the idea behind the audiobook but never had wanted to try one. I got this book and made it to chapter 8 and got stuck unable to continue to read. Listening to this narration was amazing. Thank you for getting me over the hump and allowing me to really enjoy this book. Thank you

What a pleasure is to listen to this audio.

He is one of the great narrators. Other voices i can identify straight away are connor crais, jacob webber and all his pseudonyms, joe arden and of course Sebastian york. I especially appreciate their talent for female and child voices.
