Debunking Myths: Bryan Caplan's Truth About Open Borders
Yeah no 😂 the number of hard working, intelligent MBAs in America that are serving tables with massive student loan debt is the only evidence you need to see that universities don’t actually care about your success outside of school. Eventually maybe we will stop perpetuating the myth that higher education is obviously a good and helpful thing to spend money on.
That’s the problem, chief: unreasonable inequality. We want to incentivise the bread maker to continue making bread because I can go to work and be rewarded for doing that work rather than spending my time making bread. The economy benefits as a whole. However, if the bread making corporation is incentivised more to produce profits for the shareholders rather than providing reasonably priced bread, leading to highly priced bread such that I question whether going to work is worth it anymore when I can just stay home and make my own bread. Thus, the economy will suffer while a small minority benefit disproportionately.
Yeah but usualy I’d like to pay for bread that’s within the price range that corrosponds to my paycheck.. So yknow- I can buy bread and sleep on a bed with a roof overhead?
Capitalism doesn’t eliminate monopolies….. energy companies are a great example of this and internet search engines are a second
What? Is this guy getting paid to say this?
what?
His end had nothing to do with his start lmao
Capitalism is opposite to morality
true
Mate your disrespecting one of the greatest economists that ever lived. What did you achieve ? Nothing you sob
Start bribing.... that ship sailed with the founding fathers.
Likewise in Finland 10% of taxpayers pay 50% of income tax The rest 50% is divided by the rest Year after year Finland is declared happiest people of the world or what have you. 90 % vote that try are very happy and content about taxes Guess how the 10% feel Right on Democratic rule that the 10% have to pay for the most of the tax ”We are verry happy to spend mostly your money for the benefit of us and feel great about that”
Sad how people can be happy stealing other's money.
Ahh yes. It’s the poor who bully the rich. This man is clearly not a brainwashed idiot.
🇺🇸
These are great lectures by great minds. I am following you from Ethiopia, east Africa. Thank you!
You are most welcome!
Thats stupid
What a great lecture. You speak about the things I'm always thinking about yet I never hear spoken.
This is why we are here!
Great lecture, thanks! Helped me to figure out a lot about myself and my friendships!
Thank you for your feedback! I'm so glad that you got something worthwhile from watching this video.
Absolutely true
Thanks!
which is?
Nope, that would be market socialism, but neither can solve, market problems, such as overproduction and climate change, democratic socialist planned economy can save us
As long as prices are free to fluctuate, when has there been overproduction except for the error of a businesses judgement? Why wouldn't elected leaders be subject to the same type of errors?
@@TheAcademyonCapitalismTVthere is always overproduction under capitalism, markets care only about profit and not the peoples needs, thats why things like planned obsolescence exist, there will alway be erors ofcourse, but also, capitalism and markets in general cant solve inequality, its not important just for everyone to have enough but also that noone has too much, political and economic power should be spread equaly if we want to have democratic soceity, markets also have externalities, and bum and bust, and they are undemocratic also, because democracy mean that people afected by decions make them themselves, and we all know that markwt crisis afect us all, and yet we have no say in markets, because in markets one dollar is one vote not the one person.
Thats just marriage among the common people. Kings, nobility, and the wealthy married for political and economic reasons.
That's true. I think that is consistent with what he says - people did not marry for love. It sounds like it was true of the wealthy as well. Thanks for pointing that out.
how to say nothing in under 10 seconds..
Just keep drinking your starbees With your head up your own ass, nothing to see here people. Let's just keep it moving.
In theory, that's absolutely true. In practice, there are too many scammers, liars, and control freaks in positions of power. And NO........... I don't have an easy answer to fix it.
Democracy is the gateway to all forms of communism. It is incompatible with a republic bc the mob will always infringe upon the rights & property of the individual
But they dont listen . Wont hold each other in account . Cause they are Their own group . YOUR NOT INVITED
This is just propaganda for corporate welfare.
The system is designed for a moral people. If the system is to survive, it must adapt to effectively eliminate the corruption introduced by immorality.
💯👍
It's over.
Andrew is a brilliant man
Truth bomb
And taking your money to put in their pockets with the excuse they are helping the poor…does not help the poor.
What a great evidence-based argument. And what a gut-punch of a chart!
Never heard of this sounds like bs
This is one hundred percent false
BS
If you got your last paycheck from your job yet have your pay slip 🤷♂️
Congress just did that in. Now they don't need a warrent.
turning back into highwaymen
Hmmmmm after 50 yrs of it😂
In my opinion, you are right. Never allow a search without a search warrant. Basic civil rights. Use them, don't lose them!
So....
Was about ppl's safety
Parrahub will connect Sydney to Melbourne with a Japanese SC maglev that is economical by having overnight container trains. It can be driven in two years with 60 Chinese TBM balancing Australia/China trade and creating peace in the south China sea.
Oh yes it is. You are so wrong.
The traditional family still exist. But it is much harder today than in my working years. I'm just saying things that I believe our youth should know; I'm over 60. Put your bills on paper. Scratch what you can live without; that's half your income. Cell Phone, full insurance on things paid for, $10 app fee here, $20 app fee there. Club dues, driving when you can walk, Shopping at the top shelf. It's all a waste and attempt to take what you have. Turn the tied, SAVE! put it in safe or in the ground. Forget investing. KEEP YOUR STUFF AND YOUR MONEY!
Because history started in the fifties.. 8^/
Are you telling me the pre 1950s Little House books were wrong?
The normal family mum & dad and children. Single parents family is part of normality . What's abnormal is same sex couples
