To get the nitpicky stuff out of the way first - 1) You don't actually need to replay the Marshes of Awakening, as it was made optional prior to the first mask. You don't need to visit it until after the first visit to the Shell Level - hence why the Cave of Bad Dreams was moved to the end. 2) The cutscene at the end of The Prison Ship wasn't added for Revolution, it first debuted in the Dreamcast version. 3) The Sanctuary of Stone and Fire is NOT boring! It is superb! However, you started by saying that the PS1 version is underrated. Therefore, it's a 10/10 from me 😁

ubisoft just recently announced that rayman will be getting a new instalment soon. It's either a remaster of of one of the 2 3d games or a brand new rayman game in general. you should watch one of corkben's latest videos where he talks about rayman making a comeback

as much as i love rayman i feel of that one as too repetitive and getting boring in the middle of the game, is just green jungle, green, beach, and green some jumping and temples with boring stupid orbs, the most nothing bosses i've ever seen, there is almost no enemies types, just that one type of pirates with just different colors and lenght of lifebar. the vibe is cool, kinda gets too same through the game tho, movement is clanky, especially with the Shell/ walking missle. But overall good game but i had more fun with rayman 3.

I love rayman, Especially the first game. The first game just had an unique artstyle and charming characters. The only problem was that I couldnt play it because I was not gonna ask someone "hey could you buy this game for me." So my only option was to either pirate the game (which thank god I didnt) or to play a little fangsme called rayman redemption. Its like rayman one but better. New levels, bosses, and heck! You even get to fight mr dark. Something you couldnt even do in the original and had to just fight a boss rush instead. Theres also alot post game content too like challenges or getting all the skins. Theres also some bzzit stages too. I genuinely recommend you try this game as its one of the best rayman fangame I ever played.

My only issue with Rayman 1 is that you are required to get all the cages in order to even get to the last level. But otherwise the game isn't that difficult as many point out.

I actually have a lot of respect for your opinion. I always said that RRR was sad to have in comparison to have Rayman 4. And my point still stands, but I definitely agree that RRR on its own has some charm (but not the sequels, those are bad) I think with the technology we have today, Rayman 4 could be great

According to the creator (who is... reportedly not the best manager, granted) the Dreamcast version is the difinitive version and what they envisioned. Doesn't mean it's the best version for you, but it's the closest to what they wanted to create.
