Hi Maureen, I decided to watch this video over two days as it was a little long to fit in with other things during my day. I found this one an interesting experiment and was so surprised to see all the colour appearing on the watercolour papers. When you sprinkled the mica powder I was wondering if you had enough as I was unable to see it clearly on screen. WOW... all it needed was some of God's good rain to bring the colours to life. You sure did it the hard way though didn't you as it would be so much easier to spritz the pages with a fine mist water spray. Knowing you though... I know you would much prefer the interesting way... LOL! 🤣 I don't own any of those mica powders or sprays and clearly, I am missing out, aren't I? Since I lack imagination what other things can you do using the mica powders? This looks a fun technique, and very effective on the cards that you made, and I am certain that the recipients including your dad will love and treasure their cards. You mentioned that your dad was a Vietnam veteran, while my dad served in the Royal Australian Air Force in World War 2. My father lied about his age so he could enlist in the AirForce. A parent signature was required, and so dad asked his landlady to sign his mother's signature on the enlisting documents. My dad must have been a bit of a rebel as he actually had a manpower job in Sydney at the time, and those that had manpower jobs were required to stay put and were not eligible to enlist. My father disliked the manpower job that he was doing... saying that it was too boring! Dad was very young and thought this was an opportunity for him to go on an adventure!!! He had to go through a process to be relieved from his job to enlist in which he was successful. My father fought over in Borneo. Since my father is no longer living, I had to try and recall all that he told me. Take care my friend, and as always happy crafting (experimenting!). Gods' blessings, love and hugs to you from your Aussie friend. 🩷🌻

Hi Maureen, how cute is this card! Critter cards are gorgeous and playful, and oddly enough I do not make cards like this despite having critter stamps in my craft studio. Yes, I have Koala critters and have never used them!!! Maybe it is because I don't want to colour them in, but as they are simply outline stamps, I just had a thought that I could stamp them on watercolour paper and treat them like AI stamps. I might have to investigate further to see if it is possible. At the beginning of this vid when you were cutting all the papers I was getting rather confused with where you were going even though I was able to see the sketch on screen. Measurements usually baffle me, and I simply just go with the flow which works for me... LOL! 🤣 While it is a lovely card that you made it would have been wonderful if the raindrops were in blue... I thought that all while I was watching you create this card, but of course sometimes we have to use what we have, don't we? Actually, I just checked, and I have a raindrop stencil by Lawn Fawn that would work! Maureen, I notice you use a lot of Stampin Up products, do you have a Stampin Up demonstrator near you? There is no one near me, and I have not ever used their products although they do look nice quality. I love watching your videos Maureen... mistakes and all, and let's face it we all make mistakes. The fun part is finding ways to cover the mistakes up. Take care my friend and shall see you in the next vid, but until then happy crafting! God's blessings, love and hugs from your Aussie friend! 🩷

Hi Gloria - I will admit that Critter cards are some of my favorite to make. I love to color them and make fun cards with them. Some of my favorites are by Lawn Fawn, Mama Elephant, Hello Bluebird and Pink & Main. I am always careful when I purchase new ones to make sure that they range in sizes that will work with the ones I already have so I can intermix and mingle the critters together on a single card. This card was a little rough from the start and I never expected to have the paper cutting difficulties that I did, especially given that I had the directions right there in front of me! ha ha! Stampin' Up! Yes, I do have a demonstrator although she is not local to me. Her name is Lisa Curcio (Lisa's Stamp Studio on UA-cam). I found her by accident on UA-cam when I was looking for a demonstrator. I liked how she teaches and she seemed like a genuinly nice person (she is), so I started ordering from her. She partners a couple times a year with Kylie Bertucci and Bruno Bertucci from Australia to hold online cardmaking retreats. Their next one is coming up later this month (onlinestampingretreat.com/about/). I have done a couple of them and they are a nice way to spend the day, learning and playing along! Look to see if Kylie and Bruno are anywhere close to you! When I started getting back into cardmaking, I did a bunch of research on cardstock, inks and stamps. At the time it made sense to use one company for the cardstocks and inks, so they would color coordinate. Although their products are great quality, I bought a good selection of their products over a few years but have since drifted away from their stampsets, as they all started to look similar with each years offerings. The ones that I did purchase, I made sure the designs were "timeless" so they could be used for years to come and not become outdated. I cannot tell you the last time I bought a Stampin' Up stampset. There will be videos coming later this year that feature Stampin' Up sets because I do still enjoy using the ones I purchased and some of them have not seen much love in recent years so it is time to cycle through them again. Until next time, my friend, Happy crafting to you!

Hi Maureen, you made a very pretty card, and I am sure the recipient will love it. 💜 Regarding the small white dot that was left after stamping the base colour of the flower, could you apply some colour carefully with a paint brush to fill it in? I don't have a stamp wheel, but after seeing you use it, I wish I had one. I have many Altenew layering stamp sets that I have yet to use as I am unsure how use them correctly, and as you know I have limited die ink pads, and certainly not the colours to use on this type of floral stamps... sigh!!! It makes me want all the stampin up ink pads no matter how awkward they are to open and close without getting ink on your fingers as they appear to have a beautiful range of colours. Maureen, I hear you when you get disappointed with the ink stains on your stamps and sticky mats as I have the same feelings. I like perfection, but to have perfection you wouldn't use the stamp sets or sticky mat at all. At least the ink-stained stamps do not affect future stamping. God's blessings to you my friend and sent with lots of love and hugs. 🩷🌻

Hi Gloria - Thank you for coming by to see this one! The card was well received and very much liked (it was for my parents anniversary). You are right, looking back I probably could have fixed the white spot left behind from that stamp. I will keep that in mind for the next time. Thank you for the ideas on that, as I am sure this stampset will be one I reach for again! The stampwheel is nice. I actually prefer it over some other platforms for a number of reasons, but it mainly depends what i am doing as to which one I reach for. The Misti I have has a smaller footprint and a smaller working area. I could have done this card using the Misti and it would have turned out the same. I just wanted to try it out on th Stampwheel. I will be using the Stampwheel in opcoming videos to show how to use layering stamps better and also to make some wreath or circle designs with misc stamps in my stash. That's a little harder in the Misti unless you have something like Gina K's Wreath Builder (which you can easily make on your own once you take a look at her product). I totally hear you on the inks. Normally I am not a full set syndrome type of person for anything (like copics - I own roughly 160 of 365 colors and I hand picked each and every one of my colors. I wont ever buy any other colors because the set I hand picked works perfectly for the things I like to color). Ink pads, I never intended to own the full set of Stampin' Up. It happened by happy :pre-planned" accident mostly. My demonstrator offers free gifts for purchases of $50 or more. She sends out an email of things to choose from. There is always an ink pad/refill in the offering. So when I placed orders, I always picked the Ink pad/refill over other things like embellishment packs. Thats how I got most of my colors. Stampin' Up also does certain sales throughout the year too (like free shipping days) so I would use the free shipping day to stock up on cardstock (because it is heavier to ship than most things) and then for my free gift, again I would choose the ink pad/reflll. I did buy a few ink pads/refills here and there to finish out an order to meet that $50 limit. I have a printed chart that I used to keep track of what I had and what I ordered so as to not order duplicates. I very much doubt that I will ever buy the full set of any other brand of ink pads. And since I have all of the refills for the SU ones, it will take years for these to need to be replaced. I do have plans to add a few more Catherine Pooler inks to my collection of those, just to round out what I have and make it seem like a full set, when really it will be far from the full set of colors she offers. I use her inks alot differently than I use the SU inks. As far as the ink on my fingers from opening the SU ink pads, I will happily take their cases any day over what all of the other brands offer. If you knew how many times I have fumbled ink pads onto my desk and floor because the lids just sit on them and don't snap closed. It's a worry everytime I pick up another brand's ink pads. SU has the best cases and they don't dry out nearly as much as the others because of their case design. Gods blessings to you my crafty Aussie friend. I hope you're getting some water color painting time in while the weather is suitable these days!

Hi Maureen, my goodness you have a lot of background papers and precut images to make cards for many years! I think I must be the only cardmaking crafter that makes to order and has no backgrounds etc... in my craft studio. Now I have given some thought as to why I do not use the sketches when I make my cards, and seeing your sketches in this video I now realise why. They appear to be for A2 size cards, and here in Australia our card sizes are slightly different. I am sure it is possibly possible to alter the measurements, but who wants to do that every time you make a card??? Sometimes it is confusing with centimetres, millimetres and inches ... 🙃 Maureen, you are so right the dot above the letters i and j is called tittle... how funny is that? Who would have thought that the dot actually has a specific name. I stumbled across that several months ago while watching a quiz programme. Happy crafting and use up some of those backgrounds... LOL! God's blessings, love and hugs from your Aussie friend down under! 🩷🌻

Hi Gloria! Thank you for watching this video! ❤️ On the topic of pre-cut colored images, before I got back into cardmaking, I made the switch from scrapbooking to coloring in adult coloring books. And then I moved to learning how to color with copic markers. I started out with coloring hundreds of free digital images that I printed from Pinterest. Then I bought my first new stampsets since 2005 and I stamped a ton of those so I could continue practicing with the Copics. Over two to three years of practicing coloring, I accumulated a massive box of images. That’s when I decided that some of them were “good enough” to use on cards, so I jumped back into cardmaking making. I’m still using those images to make cards plus I have another box that still has a pile of uncolored images just waiting their turn to be colored and made into cards. As I pick up new stampsets, I stamp them out and add to the uncolored images box, which means there will always be a supply of images for cards! So I guess you could say that coloring snowballed back into cardmaking and I’m so thankful that it did. I have made cards off and on since 1989 but never as my main hobby until roughly 2017. 😊

I truly prefer Copic markers to Zig or Stampin Up. They last FOREVER! I like having 3 shades of color to use over light and dark. Im pretty sure my future markers will be primarily Copic. Such a fun video Maureen!

Hi Betty! Copics are my definite go to for alcohol markers. I also have a small set of ohuhu that I’ve been trying to learn to color with and eventually hope to incorporate those into a couple of videos as I know many people have them because they’re less expensive than Copics. I’ve recently started coloring more again after being away from it for several months! I find it very relaxing plus it’s generating lots more images for future cards!

Hey Maureen, it was a pleasant surprise to find this video waiting for me. I loved watching you work, and chat while you did so. I really do need to purchase some dye ink pads as I really don't have many but still don't know which brand or colours to get. Unfortunately, I am a person that thinks they need every colour in the collection, and I know that it is not necessary besides that would be way expensive especially if you purchase the re-inkers as well. The Simon Hurley blue colour almost looks black on the screen. Do they still make foam pads??? I know in the olden days that they had the pigment ink pads with foam. As the pad got a little older it started to look awful!!! Instead of using the foam finger daubers to colour in those tiny circles on the stencil would the tiny brushes that look like finger daubers work better. I usually do not do busy backgrounds because they really don't fit with the type of cards that I make. I recently went through my 6" x 6" paper pads and removed all the larger images and those that looked too busy or the wrong colours. I bundled them up and will be taking them down to the charity shop along with a few more items that I have removed from my craft studio. I enjoy a cleanout occasionally. Now Maureen, you said that you don't like wearing yellow, and I had to laugh!!! Truthfully, I do not like wearing yellow either, but when I was in senior high school the girls summer uniform was a bright yellow. Obviously, we had no choice as wearing uniforms to school here in Australia is compulsory, (I know you guys in the US don't wear school uniforms!) but our yellow dresses back in the 70's were absolutely hideous!!! Thankfully we were only wearing them for two of our schooling years. Take care my friend and sending lots of love and hugs your way! 🩷🌻

Hi Gloria! Thank you for coming by to watch this one! Oh ink pads... the market is so saturated with ink pads (pun intended!), it seems every company has their own set of colors. I can tell you the the majority of the ink pads in the US are made in a few different plants. So pretty much if a company has dye inks, they are made where other companies are getting their dye inks. Same as pigment inks. The shapes of the containers are pretty much what differs. Some companies still do foam (Catherine Pooler) but most others I have seen are felt. I am not familiar with every companies ink pads so I am sure there are others out there that are foam too. I have only had my colored inks a few years. When I decided I wanted to start picking up colored inks, I bought the cubes from a couple different companies to try them out because I didn't want to make a huge investment into something that I may not have liked. At the same time that I was researching ink, I was also researching colored cardstock. Up to that point I had primarily used Michael's Recollections brand and some Bazzil that I got from Scrapbook.com. Back then, I was a scrapbooker and cardstock weight was not as important. I had a friend who was into Stampin' Up and I got to try some Stampin up card stock, which I immediately loved because of how heavy it was. The Recollections brand is decent card stock but not for anything more than layers. It is not thick enough to make a nice card base in my opinion but I still use it for layers to keep weight down due to postage. So I researched the Stampin Up colors alot... alot, alot, alot... to make sure I really liked their colors for the kinds of cards I wanted to make. I found a Stampin' Up demo that offers "incentives" when you make a purchase. So I would pick up a couple packs of paper and some ink spots (blank ink cubes" as well as reinkers to try out the colors of ink). As an incentive for my purchase, she would offer other products as a free gift. So I would then pick up a full size ink pad of a color I liked. I acquired many of my full size Stampin up Ink pads as free incentive gifts for buying cardstock packs in their many colors. I do have the full set of colors from Stampin Up, before they changed their color palettes a year or so ago. These are my go to inks. I mainly use Stampin Up colored card stock, which matches the inks perfectly. As I have been depleting some colors of the cardstock (because I have not bought any in almost two years), I have been making my own by ink swiping onto white cardstock and because the colors are so perfectly matched, it's like having the colored cardstock. SU does their color matching perfectly. Now then, SU inks cannot do everything and it was only because I saw some interesting techniques being done by Simon, that I decided to try out his inks. The purchase of the Scrapbook.com inks was because they were offering them on a special and I was curious as to if you could do the same techniques with those too (the pricing is a factor between the two and like I said, I was curious). The colors are slightly different between the two brands and the ink pads are different too. I think both are good inks but I need to play with them alot more before deciding if I will invest further in either. So the SU inks will remain my primary until I can no longer get ink refills for them (some are not available now but I stocked up when they changed their palettes). I think it is good to try out other brands without making a full investment and buying the 3 primaries will give you a full rainbow (minus pink unless you stamp off first), so just buying 3 to try out is how I do things. Oh I do have 2 sets of the Catherine Pooler inks as well and love those for other reasons. I have a medium shade of the rainbow and a darker shade of the rainbow for hers, Eventually when I can no longer get refills for my SU ones, then I will seriously continue the research of which ones to invest in next, be it Catherine Pooler, Simon Hurley, Scrapbook.com or another brand. I will tell you that it took me almost a full year of tryin individual ink cubes from a couple of companies before I made the decision to buy the full line, full size of Stampin' Up because I wanted to be sure I would love using them every day and not dread then for one reason or another. It's not a decision that I made lightly because of the investment I knew would be involved. (Side note, I also have a limited color selection of Distress Inks and Distress Oxides but those are a whole other discussion for another day!) Which brands have you tried out or is this something your starting to think about doing? I promise you that full set is not necessary. There are some SU ink pads that I could have not purchased and never noticed they were missing from the set. Having the full set has really taught me which colors I reach for the most and which ones go untouched for months and I know that I wont ever buy the full set of inks from any company again. Expensive lesson to be learned but totally worth it in my opinion.

@@CampHappyMail Oh my goodness Maureen you wrote an epistle above, and I loved reading every word! 🥰 Regarding dye inks I have a few memento colours as well as distress inks, and that is about it. Usually with the dye inks I usually only use black or dark blue. Pigment inks I have Versafine Clair (and re-inkers) in rainbow colours - light, mid and dark colours as well as the complete collection of distress oxides and re-inkers. I tend to gravitate to the pigment inks more than the dye inks, and I don't know why... oh yes, I do... I frequently heat emboss! I would love to purchase some good quality dye inks and re-inkers, but I cannot make up my mind which ones to purchase. Mind you it depends upon availability here in Australia, and the craft stores sell the ink pads but often not the re-inkers. Therefore, I usually struggle with what I have, and maybe one day I might take the plunge although I am in no hurry. I agree it is best to start with the primary colours, and I would also definitely have to get a pink etc... 🩷

G'day Maureen, how cute is this card? As I have gotten older, I have fallen in love with the colour pink and pink would have to be my favourite colour. As a young child back in the 70's I loved purple and orange, and I was adamant that I was going to have a purple and orange wedding dress one day!!! Thankfully that didn't come to pass, and by the time I got married my favourite colour was red, and no, I didn't have a red wedding dress but chose a beautiful whitish cream silk jacket and slimline skirt. Whoops... I am certainly getting off the topic aren't I... LOL! 🤣 I have seen you do that before, and I have also seen others where they remove the centre out of special paper so they can use in another project rather than covering it up with an image. It is great that you share these small tips to help other crafters do the same. Well Maureen, I think I have now caught up on all your videos and am looking to what you have next for us. God's blessings, love and hugs from your Aussie friend. 🩷💐

Oh Gloria - isn't color a wonderful thing? I love that you wanted to have a purple and orange wedding dress! That would have been spectacular! I love also that by the time you got married you loved Red but didn't have a red dress! My wedding "outfit" was black and light sage green. We had not picked "colors" for our wedding but instead I picked out a lovely light sage green dress shirt for Jeff to go with his suit and then we went looking for a blouse of the same color for me, knowing I was wearing a black pant suit and not a wedding dress. Colors have always been a big part of my life. I grew up in a house with pure white walls and I always said when I had my own house, each room would be painted a different color of the rainbow. It almost happened! But I met Jeff while in the process of house hunting for myself and once we were together, those plans of living by myself in a house of many colors changed, and I let those dreams of a "room of every color" go. Our house has pure white walls but I never lost my love of color. My craft space has multiple things in it that are rainbow colors and that makes it a truly happy place to be, even though my walls are pure white. :) Thank you for sharing about your intended wedding dress colors, reading about that truly made me smile. Hugs and blessings to you!

Hi there Maureen, you would have to be known as the crafty lady who makes very bright envelopes... LOL! 🤣 I am amazed at how juicy your stamp pads are, and the colours are so vivid. One thing that came to mind as I was watching you apply the colours to the envelope... I was wondering if the ink goes right through the envelope paper, or does it remain white inside? I think it is a cute idea that the piece that you use to cover up where you will put the recipient's address will be used as a seal for the back of the envelope... clever you! I was also impressed that you were able to pull of several prints from the residual ink that was left on the stencil. I am certain that they would make excellent backgrounds for your future cards. Take care my friend and enjoy playing and experimenting in your craft happy space! Blessings, love and hugs from your Aussie friend! 🥰❤☕🍰💐

Hi Gloria- I have to tell you, my local small town post office loves seeing the happy mail envelopes coming through! They've often told me that it would be fun if everyone decorated their envelopes because that would make sorting the mail so much more fun as well (our post office is so small that they don't have automated machinery and everything is hand sorted - so they are physically touching every piece of mail that comes in and goes out!). I love to decorate the envelopes when I have time because I know along the way they bring joy to others who get to see them as well. And I am still surprised that the envelope I sent to you actually made it through your postal service to you with the envelope decorated! That made me so happy to hear! And yes, I will be doing that again - because we know it can be done! Oh and those prints that I pulled are just waiting to be made into cards! I made so many stencil envelopes over a couple of days and I pulled "prints" from each of the inky stencils! (I just can't waste the ink by washing it all down the sink drain!) I can't wait to get back into the studio and make the cards from those! They will definitely be one of a kind! I hope you are getting some quality watercolor time in your studio now that winter has passed! Take care my Aussie Friend!

Hi Gloria! This box definitely included such a fun variety of things in it and I am especially excited about the critters and the shaker bits! I do enjoy making shaker cards - although this boxes contents with the acetate shaker circles proved to be an adventure and I will probably go back to making them the other ways I know how that are not as cumbersome. I have some "kits" by another company that are made for making shaker cards and so I will probably put the shaker bits to good use with those products in combination with the critters from this box. I love when products can be easily be mixed and matched! Do you like to make shaker cards? If you do, what do you like to put in yours for the shaker bits? I am going to venture a guess that you probably don't make these because they don't really fit into the beautiful realm of water color cards that you make. I wonder what it would be like to combine the two? I may have to experiment with that - after I figure out how to watercolor of course! Much love and higs to you my friend! Happy Crafting!!

@@CampHappyMail Hey Maureen, I have NEVER made a shaker card, and while they appear fun with all the little bits inside rattling around, I just can't see myself making them. I have never purchased any shaker bits, as to me they seem as annoying as glitter...LOL! 🤣 Perhaps another concern is their thickness, and the card going through Aust Post... or any postal service for that matter. Also, a note of concern is that the shaker card could easily get damaged on route!!! There you go Maureen, another experiment for you combining watercolours with a shaker card. My concern about that would be as watercolours are so small and detailed that the shaker component would hide the beautiful watercolour painting. The beauty of card making is that no one is wrong, and new processes are discovered through lovely people like you that are willing to do all the hard work. Lots of love and hugs back to you. 🩷💐

Hey Maureen, this looks to be a very useful die, and I love the versatility of die sentiments. This 'Make a wish' looks fun, and I am looking forward to seeing what it is like once cut onto a piece of cardstock. I have several alphabet die sets, and of course the letters are all separate, and is a lot of extra work cutting out each letter individually and creating words and sentiments. I have pushed them to the back and rarely use them!!! Take care my friend. With love and hugs from across the pond! 🩷🌻

    • @CampHappyMail

Hi Gloria- I have to say, the way they did the word dies is really nice. To not have a bunch of fiddly individual letters to fuss with is a blessing. And I can tell you that had the letters not been joined, the dies would not have earned a place in my craftroom. I am terrible with fussy little things because I simply don't have the patience. Yes, that's 100% on me for sure. I had some wood mounted rubber stamps that were individual letter and I wouldn't line them up to save my life. I ended up gifting them to a friend who had small children who I knew would use them to spell things but not be as concerned about lining up the letters perfectly. But on the other hand, I do have 2 sets of alphabet dies that are individual letters and also one set of numbers and I can tell you precisely how many times I have used any of them in the last year: 0. They are one of the only things I have kept that I have never used because I somehow keep convincing myself that It would be great to use them to spell out whatever I want but yet, I have yet to take the time to do it. I just seem to be stuck on donating these away and I can't put my finger on why. The letters are nothing fancy, just typical plain bold letters and there really is no reason I shouldn't be able to part with them but yet, here they remain in my stash, to go anothr year not being used. I need some magical elves to come into my craftroom and just remove them - I probably wouldn't even notice! ha ha! Why are we like this with hanging onto things that we cant bring ourselves to be bothered to use?

@@CampHappyMail We usually hang onto things... "just in case." Might I add that the words 'just in case' is a declutterer's nightmare!!! 😲 Perhaps it is easier to keep the item/s with the possibility of not using them, but as soon as you let something go that is when you want it! I have used my alphabet dies only once, and it was a little time consuming and fiddley to use, but I know that I will keep them, because I wouldn't want to purchase them again. I never know when I might need them! 🙃

Good question Gloria! They seem to be made out of plastic that has a metallic or shiny coating on them. I have not taken them out of the package yet (you know I will have them all over the place ha ha). I need to find a little container to put them into to make using them easier than dumping them out of the little zippy pouch that they came in. I can see these being used as shaker bits or as stand alone dots glued onto a card front (like sequence). I plan to try both options with them and see what works best. These are "new to me" too but I can guarantee you will be seeing these on upcoming cards! I wish you were closer because I would definitely invite you over to play and experiment with these!

Hi Maureen, I am so happy that you have the dies for the Koala stamp set. The stamps look easy to fussy cut, but why should you?! I am sure you will get a lot of use out of these P&M stamp and die sets. Yes, Maureen, I agree with you that every stamp set should also have matching dies. Perhaps what I don't like about the matching dies is that they leave a white border around the image. It is okay for some stamps, but if I fussy cut I like to have no white showing. Take care of you, and with lots of love and hugs from your Aussie friend. 🩷🐨

Hi Gloria - oh that pesky white outline is something I am not fond of either. I think it messes with the look of some cards, like scene cards with cute critters. I like to cut out the images on my scan N cut but I will tell you that I hold my breath everytime I use that machine to cut images because I have had it mess up and cut where it shouldn't which is truly heartbreaking after investing the time to color the images. I have also been known to use a die to cut the images and then I go in and do the last trimming off of the white outline. Yes it's still fussy cutting but not nearly as intimidating as cutting into the whole sheep of paper to cut out the images. Weird I know... but it just seems to make it more do-able. I am looking forward to making some cards with the Koala because it is my only koala in my whole collection. I have always loved koalas and even had some stuffed animals and jacket pins of koalas as a kid. I think the stamp will make some cute cards! I would bet at least one of those cards will make it's way to you in Austrialia as well! :)

In the past when I used it, I was finding it weeks after!!! I would often get it all over my face although I wonder how as I don't put my face near the stuff. HI Gloria - the only answer for how to use glitter without making a mess is You Don't! ha ha! OK, honestly, I have seen a few techniques after researching it and I will be trying some when I get back into the studio. There is a possibility that this container of glitter will not become a permanent member of my crafty stash because like you, I end up with it everywhere and I am far to pale to be walking out in this world with turquoise sparkly glitter all over my face! :) I may have to look into shimmer pens, do you have a brand you like? I have found some glitter paper from Memory Box (used on the one card in this video) that does not shed and I really like it, it is nice and thick and easy to work with. I recently found some glitter paper from amazon also does not shed and is super nice to work with. but Shimmer pens sound fun and I may have to do some research on those! I’m glad that you like my videos, that means so much to me! The clearance section@ scrapbook.com is one of my favorite places. A lot of times I will put things onto my wish list that may be brand new or products that have been around for a while and then I periodically go back to see if anything is on sale or in clearance And then that’s when I buy it. A few years ago I picked up almost everything I owned by Altenew by doing it that way, and that saved me a tremendous amount of money. I’m currently working through those products for my AECP classes. Etsy and eBay are also great places to find older things and I will admit that I have found some great deals on both of those for wood mounted rubber stamps that are now discontinued. G'day Maureen, oooooooooooooooooh how wonderful that you now have a koala stamp, and yes very Australian! 🐨 YAY!!! Can I please just say here in a kind way that Koala's are not bears. I know that many people refer to them as bears, because I suppose they do look like a bear but that is incorrect. Koalas are marsupials, and their closest relations are the wombat which is also another gorgeous Australian native animal. We have some rather unique wildlife and flora here in Australia. Sadly, the koala population is decreasing, and many things are contributing to this... eg - the obvious are bushfires, gum trees are being bulldozed down and removed, koalas walking onto roads at night and being run over etc... etc... I remember reading an article recently about a company being fined a massive amount of money as they flattened bushland to make way for a runway, and they destroyed the natural habitat for koalas and other Aussie wildlife. 🐨 Now back to your lovely stamp set... I can make a guess that tomorrow you will be receiving the co-ordinating dies for this lovely stamp set... happy days! I hope you have lots of fun with your koala stamp!!! God's blessings, love and hugs from your Aussie friend down under!!! 🩷🐨🦘 P.S - Here in Aussieland we have Koalas in zoos as well as in the wild! They are probably found in zoos in countries around the world as well! 🐨

You are correct! Koala's are not bears although they look kinda bearish. I guess thats why as kids, it was easier for us to be told they were bears because no kid understands what a marsupial is. I have heard that they can be quite mean. I have never met one in person, so I cannot say for sure! Regardless, I am planning to put this Koala to good use on some future cards!! :)

I make well over 100 birthday cards each year so this box of goodies was truly a great investment and addition to my stash! I am pretty certain that I wont be playing much more with the foiling elements, as it is just not in my wheelhouse quite honestly. I think I will stick to heat embossing and die cutting from metallic/glitter paper to get similar looks! Thank you for coming by and leaving me sweet comments on all of videos! I appreciate you!

I am in agreeance with you. I already decided that there will be very little "new" things purchased in 2025 because I have so much already and really have zero desire to take anything else on. There are so many things that can be made with the things I have and I really want to get back to using alot of what I have. So foiling is a no-go for me. It's messy and fidgety and there are other ways to achieve pretty metallic looks on things. I will be gifting the foiling things to a friend that I know has the equipment and enjoys it.

Hi Maureen, my goodness me there are a lot of elements in this this package of foilables. I watched a P&M video on how to use these foilables, and yes it appears that you need a machine to run them through. While the results are simply stunning these are certainly not for me as I too do not want to purchase another piece of expensive crafting equipment. Perhaps storage isn't an issue for me as I do have a designated craft studio, but I feel that I have more than enough gadgets to play around with. I do hope you are able to find a way to use these birthday elements, and I look forward to seeing how you use them. God's blessings, love and hugs from your Aussie friend across the pond!!! 🌞🍒🌻🩷

@@gloriaonesimus6244 hi Gloria - yes indeed it does seem the easiest and intended way to use these is with a foiling machine or laminator. My husband offered to get me one but I declined. I know it’s not something I would use a lot. I have two more ways that I want to try before just passing these foiling things on to my friend who enjoys foiling. At some point I’ll try the ideas on camera so others can see and decide for themselves, their thoughts on foiling. I’m happy P&M included these items as it’s been interesting to give it a go! Thank you for coming back to check this one out!

Yay!! I have to agree...the die cut images are so much prettier than fussy cut images. I dont mind fussy cutting at all, but if I dont have to that's a plus!😁✂️

@@bettyjamieson1039 I’m with you 100%. I do love my SU scissors and they do a great job for fussy cutting but I would much rather use dies or my scan n cut for a much nicer look. Thank you for watching this one and leaving me your feedback on fussy cutting! We are much alike my friend!

Round shakers are not easy but this product definitely helps! I need to practice some more with it! It was easier than doing it using foam strips. I hope this is something they add to their website!

Hi Maureen, oh my goodness you have a cheeky laugh, and I love it! Yes, I agree that we are 'campers' of your crafty YT family, and I love that you continue to produce such fun videos. I know you don't usually like unboxing videos, but I love them. It is lovely seeing what other crafters use, and of course what they do with their new products. I had forgotten that you received the lion stamp set in day 13, and when you spoke about hopefully receiving the dies so you wouldn't have to fussy cut... of course the dies were going to be inside day 14!!! Maureen, you are certainly gathering a lovely collection of crafty products from P&M. Also, now that you are at day 14... there are not many days to go! Your box is getting very empty...sigh...! I am looking forward to seeing what is in day 15!!! Take care of you and will see you in tomorrow's video. God's blessings, love and hugs from your Aussie friend. 🥰❤☕🍰🍒🌻

@@gloriaonesimus6244 hehehe my goofy little laugh sometimes comes out sounding like I’m a little kid! These packages make me feel like a little kid at Christmas! And the whole campers thing just caught me by surprise when it escaped my mouth! Haha! As for unboxings, I’ve not done them prior to this and I think that’s mainly because I don’t want to make people feel like they have to go out and buy whatever I’m using or whatever I bought. I don’t watch a lot of unboxings because they tend to overwhelm me and a lot of times of something does catch my interest, by the time I watch the unboxing, the items are already sold out everywhere. That’s also something I don’t want people to encounter, although I realize most of the advent calendar isn’t available on their website now. It’s a delima for sure. I appreciate your input on this topic! Thank you for sharing with me!

Hey Maureen, LOL... 🤣I think of us being crafty campers, or more specifically your crafty campers!!! Whoever brought this advent calendar together was very thoughtful with all the elements so far, and all the stamp sets so far could be used together, and the individual stamps within the sets also matched well. I think the size of the animals, gifts and sentiments are perfect to create gorgeous and varied cards. The sky is the limit, and you never know there are still plenty of days to find another stamp set or two!!! With these cute creatures you could make a fun birthday slimline card... YAY!!! 🐯🦁🦝🐼 Take care my friend and will see you in tomorrow's video. With love, hugs and God's richest blessings. 🩷⭐🌻

Hi Gloria - obviously I was getting a bit punchy from filming so many short videos lol! I truly had a good time with this group of videos for the Advent Calendar. Oh and the contents of this calendar were brought together by Michelle, the owner of Pink and Main. She truly did a fantastic job with this one and I am still excited that I got in on it. I cannot wait to make birthday cards from it all year!

Hey Maureen, these nesting stars are a wonderful addition to your ever growing P&M collection, and I am certain that you will get a lot of use out of them. I have many nesting die sets but realised that I do not have any stars. When I was purchasing my nesting die sets, I stopped at the stars wondering if I would ever have a need for them. Perhaps the smaller ones yes (just like the ones you received today) but the larger stars I really wouldn't know what to do with them. Mind you on saying that I haven't used all the dies in my existing nesting sets!!! Take care my friend and will see you in your next video. God's blessings, love and hugs. 🩷💫⭐💫

Hi Gloria - I agree with you on the different shapes of some dies. I mainly use my rectangles and circles the most however, I have really started to enjoy the hexagon sets that I recently picked up. I have another set of stars (with pointed tips) that I have ideas for but have not played with much. A good source for nested dies is Scrapbook.com. They have a nice variety for a realistic price. I have a few sets of theirs that I really enjoy using. I am looking forward to using this smaller set of rounded tip stars and think it will be fun to use them with the birthday contents of this box. I think they could make some fun shaker cards! Thank you for coming by to see this video!
