      @@WinterPlatinum Thank you! It can be challenging to execute the technique and make smooth turns like you do. I have been using the Burton Custom X for 15 years and recently purchased the new 2025 wide version. The board is incredibly stable, but I find it difficult to replicate the "edging closer" your smoothness in my own riding. Perhaps in the future, you could consider posting a video tutorial outlining the steps to master the flow. Thank you once again and have a great day!

    Do you recommend the "extra wide" carving boards or go steeper on stance angles? And why are Oxess boards so expensive? I ride Kessler and SG and am pretty happy with them. Im curious to try Oxess though😅

    • @WinterPlatinum
      @WinterPlatinum 23 дні тому

      Difficult question - I like wide boards, but if I just focus on carving, I‘d rather go higher angles. It makes the whole riding more fluid. With Oxess, there are no production boards (unlike Kessler and SG). Everything is custom, build to order and handmade in Switzerland.

    Hi, sorry to bother you, but I'm about to buy an Oxes CX 162 snowboard and I'm torn between the 176mm and 162mm wide models. I'm not sure which one to choose. My current board is 260mm wide, but with my angles (+32/+21), I can feel the discomfort of my bindings in contact with the snow, and it's destroying my bindings and boot. My shoe size is EU 42 (27cm), my boot footprint is about 32cm, I weigh 66kg, and I'm 1.80m tall. I know with these measurements, maybe the most sensible thing would be to get a 262mm wide board, but I don't know if the 276mm is going to be too much and I won't be able make the most of the board (you can see my carving level in my videos). What do you recommend? I still think that a 260mm will continue to destroy my boots and equipment.

    • @WinterPlatinum
      @WinterPlatinum Місяць тому

      I would say it mainly depends on your binding angle at the back foot. If you don‘t mind higher angles, I ride 24 on the back foot with a 42 size, you can ride the 262mm waist. If you want to ride lower angles or being able to mix it up a bit, you need the 276mm waist. I rode both and enjoyed both a lot. But as I ride the CX almost exclusively for carving (since I ride a lot of boards) I chose the narrower option. But both work fine for my 42 size! About the destroying - I never had problems with my boots (as they are protected on both sides by parts of the binding). But the bindings - you have to turn around the toe strap on your back binding, so that the ratchet is on the inside. Then everything slides smoothly across the snow surface.

    • @adriapalaciosgorga5044
      @adriapalaciosgorga5044 Місяць тому

      Thank you very much for your time. So you don't think a 276 size is too large for someone weighing 66kg? That's what worries me the most. I had a similar experience with my previous 260mm wide board where I used +45 and +30 degree angles, and I encountered the same issue. That's why I'm hesitant

    • @adriapalaciosgorga5044
      @adriapalaciosgorga5044 Місяць тому

      And yeah, just to be clear, I'll only be using this board for carving. I've got 4 other boards, and 2 of them are also for carving, but they're not as technical.

    • @WinterPlatinum
      @WinterPlatinum Місяць тому

      I think you would have no problem with the 276mm, but as you use pretty high angles, I would recommend the 262mm. It feels a little bit more nimble. Although the room the wider one gives you is nice as well 🤷🏼‍♂️😇

      @@WinterPlatinum I am 188 cm. tall, about 70-72 kg without gear but planning to get heavier as it really helped with loading the Cafe Racer (Titanal) that I have, I had my eyes on the 165 length with 276mm waist. But damn, just noticed the prices of CX went back to maximum. Why did I assume that amazing discount will stay forever.

    • @WinterPlatinum
      @WinterPlatinum 5 місяців тому

      165 is great! I was riding it the whole season. You can feel the bigger radius. It helps at higher speeds. Grip is a real step up from the Cafe Racer (but had only a few runs at a demo!). Price is steep, but boards are really next level in quality and performance.

    • @mooncake1429
      @mooncake1429 5 місяців тому

      @@WinterPlatinum That's the reason I get it for, it's time for some hammerhead shape and longer effective edge. I upgraded from Pencil to the CR Titanal and the Titanal was amazing, I will never go back to regular boards. The grip difference was already noticeable so I have no patience to get even further. Thank you for the info!

    Very nice carving. Are those Mountain Slope boots much different than UPZ?

    • @WinterPlatinum
      @WinterPlatinum 8 місяців тому

      The most important thing is that the boots fit well. That is more important than the performance advantages of these two models. That said the Mountain Slope is a very well balanced (symetrical) boot with a lot of tuning possibilities (back spring system). That is the reason why it dominates the World Cup.
