I love that you figured out your mental health dude. I personally just play league a couple of times a week to socialize with my buddies but I DID have a similar experience to you with R6 Siege. I used to play that game competitively almost 12hrs a day and I think I was actually getting pretty good at it. But eventually I had to ask myself the question of if I could actually be proud to tell my future children about how their father used to do nothing but play video games all day. Even if I would've made it to world champ I still don't think the price would've been worth it. Ever since then I've been able to keep a pretty healthy mindset with video games and I'm glad you found your path to a better mindset too! That being said, I'm very thankful for all of the Ekko content you did release, it really helped me to understand the champ!

I quitted lol 5 months ago, i played 10 years, where the last 3 was only aram and flex with friends, not many ranked (was emerald on soloq anyways) but this video resonates alot with me, i also noticed that it has no purpose other than keeping us distracted from what we really can be, i focused on studying, went back to uni to finish what i didnt end cuz i had no money to, had to struggle bro, life taught me alot and im grateful for it, but oh man lol was like my poison, made me mentally unstable and really didnt sum for nothing in my life. Im happy whete im now and where im gooing to, now i have a job as a software dev in a pretty good company and im making enough to help my family, which in the end was the purpose i wanted, now i have new ones which drive me with happiness for the future, salute from chile, sorry if i misspelled something

I am glad I played the game, I am not glad I spent so much time playing it, I must have spent like 8k hours playing it, I loved the game, I had a lot of fun but wished I had capped it at 3k or 4k max, nowadays I am so burned out of playing it that I can barely stand looking at it. The last three years I played it I was just playing it out of habit, I quit in november last year 11 months ago and haven't played a single match since and I don't plan on ever playing it regularly ever again. I might play some matches here and there in the future just to reminisce the game but other than that I'm done with it.

To quit league, you just have to be clear about what you want to achieve on the game then dip

32 years old here, diamond 3 . I've been playing League since s7. I have a job, a career degree, my own car, and my own house (not shared with anyone). I train regularly, eat mostly healthy, and have a social life. I can't lie to myself and say that league hasn't affected my productivity. But at the same time, for me, the rift is an escape from ordinary life, from routine. I guess its not the same for everyone.

This video seems like a weird projection. I'm glad quitting league of legends helped your life; but painting others who enjoy playing the game as addicts unable to grow as people -- stuck in a metaphysical limbo is so ridiculous man. A bit pretentious to say the least.

I’m a 21 year old dude about to finish uni and I love playing counter-strike. Ive been playing on and off since high school and it was always there for my highs and lows (especially lows). Im not particularly amazing (nowhere near pro), but I love the journey and grind. I play with my friends and it makes me happy. None of my hobbies really help me “improve” in life. I love to be outdoors hiking, camping, skiing, and climbing and there are benefits to that, but obviously I could just find a new job and make more money to “move further in life,” but I don’t want that. Im happy where I’m at and I enjoy the ride. To me it’s all about the journey and to enjoy what you love in moderation.

I actually have a lot on my plate and I know WHAT to do. I've got a UA-cam channel and I'm trying to get fit and lose weight AND I need to find a better paying job (or one that is in my field of study) but League is making me procrastinate on those things :(

Strange i havent played it for 6 months and im still stuck.Ive played the game on and off for since the end of S1 and its pretty strange to see people actually being addicted to it,that they say it bugs their real life and it holds them down from improving. If you watch a couple of the League-improvement channels like Sentrial and you apply some of the stuff + they work for you ingame it can only help you improve in real life aswell if you tackle other tasks,hobbies or work the same way. People that have problems with this game i feel like self made them more or less ive only peaked plat in flex with friends few seasons ago and this amounts to nothing when we talk about League accolates,ive strived for more before but ive never endulged myself fully to improve or try to reach a greater height and maybe thats my "Saving" grace that i can quit the game anytime cause i dont find it fun or theres something else to do,play,watch or doing a new hobby. League was never an addiction for me so not playing it for 6-9months or so for me basically does nothing cause i do something else instead of it but if you have no interest in anything else online/gaming i suppose you can view it and use it to improve your personal life. EDIT:I think this also bunches the "Self improvement meta" that has been popular for this year and this is nothing short of fantastic for many people to be able to improve in all kind of ways(diet,love life,new hobbies,active lifestyle,finding a better or more fun job) but you can also game while doing all this there is time for everything albeit small when you make changes to your life.After all we should all strive to improve be better version of ourselves. So you can still enjoy it if you desire that in general.
