HI there. I was able to purchase my Miida back in 1983 from a store in Clevleand called "Tokyo-Shapiro." Price? $93.00. Mine is the one made in Japan and I was informed that this table was what the radio stations in japan used for their playback! It came with an Audio Technica AT 11E stylus. I took it to a high end shop called Audio Craft where a salesman friend of mine put it on their test bench with a record that showed how well it and a good cartridge would track a record. It had 6 tracks on it and each one was more difficult to track. I was told most high end tablesmade it through the first 4 tracks but then started showing on the oscilliscope some serious mistracking and distortion in tracks 5 and 6. Well....the Miida deck easily made it through the first 4 tracks and the perfecty straight green line on the scope showed NO distortion. Even the 5th track show only the very tiniest of tracking errors and only at the very tip of the green line. Only when we got to the 6th and most challending track did it show a very small amount of flutter and only at the very end of the scope tracking line. It performed better than just about any high end table the store sold. I still have it in my stereo system and while it did not really require it, I took it to a very good repair shop and had all the capacitors replaced just for giggles and to assure it lasts another few decades. I believe the Miida is a rebranded Denon product from what I later learned. The best $93 ever spent on my system!

A few mods that improve the already good Koss CM 1030s: Replace the low grade electrolytic caps in the crossover with polypropylene (or polyester as a cheaper alternative). Replace resistors with good wire wound types. Remove or bypass the 100 mf caps in series with both tweeters. They were added as extra filtering for record warps and to marginally increase tweeter power handling. But once gone the tweeters sound cleaner and more dynamic. Cut the back (or a large opening) off the mid enclosures and fill them half way with layers of felt or acoustic insulation. This reduces the resonant freq of the mids and sounds richer and more natural. Tighten the mounting bolts on all drivers. Listen with the grills removed as they have an audible veiling effect.

i have this exact same table. I bought mine in the 70s as well. It is essentially a Denon turntable with different badges. I took it to my high end stereo shop (Audio Craft) in Cleveland, OH and had them do a check and calibration using their test record It played FLAWLESSLY through all 5 of the 6 bands on the record and spec'd out better then just about any other MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE Tt they sold there. Turns our the MIIDA tables were used at the Japanese radio stations for years. I still use mine every day with a new AT- Micro Linear stylus and headshell. Great sound and tracks perfectly.
