    Hello Merlin, We appreciate the inquiry as to the subject matter in our Hydraulic Hose video. You are correct when you say all hoses can fail, however; most of the hoses fail due to human error of some type or the hose was not meant for the application. To start this video does pertain to the Waste Industry. If you are in another industry our data may or may not pertain to your specific situation. Most of the hoses we see in the Waste Industry are 2 braid or 4 braid. More often than not, sites are using 2 braid when they should actually be using 4 braid. Manufacturers on newer trucks have usually specked out 4 braid 4000 psi hose. We have taken a different approach. We work with 4 spiral, 5100 PSI, and the hose has a 1,000,000 impulse cycle rating. There is a major difference of the performance hose between the 4 spiral vs. 4 braid. With our 4 spiral hose lineup and training program, we have reduced customers that had 50 hoses failures in a year down to 2 hose failures in a year (Yes all hoses can fail). The goal is to reduce hose failures and save the customer: 1- Up front cost - Less Hoses and Fittings Used = cost savings 2- They notice a significant drop in the usage of Hydraulic Oil. We have had customers go from buying 500 gallons per month, down to 200 per month. 3- Man Hours - most Maintenance have to send multiple team members out to handle a hydraulic spill Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank You again for your response.

    • @HUBIndustrialSupply
      @HUBIndustrialSupply 2 роки тому

      That depends on what your priorities are. Best filtering? Best breathability? Most comfortable? When this period of supply shortages end, we can presume that the U.S. will return to requiring the N95 performance standard exclusively in environments that present a high enough quantity of particulates in the air. An excellent N95 choice would be the Moldex Air Wave series, such as can be found here: www.hubindustrial.com/safety-products/respiratory-protection/disposable-respirators/068-003-082.html

    Masks of any kind offer marginal, if any, protection. Research the studies out there.... they may help to a very small degree, but don't rely on a mask to keep you from contracting Covid 19..... or any virus. The government is simply trying to keep people calm and from going crazy by offering some form of 'hope'..... Masks are most effective in putting billions of dollars into the pockets of the people who unleashed the virus on the world; the CHINESE. If you do buy a mask - MAKE SURE IT DOES NOT COME FROM CHINA.... their masks are often inferior and they are known to make sub-quality knockoff masks that do not perform to standard. And - why give money to the people that killed millions? Also - if you see Anthony Fauci; give him the finger.... he is a lying SOB....his Gain of Function promotion and funding helped create this version of the Covid virus which did not exist in nature before they started manipulating viruses

    KN95 is not as good as N95. "A team at the not-for-profit patient safety group noted that 60 to 70 percent of imported KN95 masks do not filter 95 percent of aerosol particulates. ECRI tested about 200 masks from 15 different manufacturers." What's more, kN95 masks lack double straps and is not securely fitting as N95 masks.

    • @Wowzersdude-k5c
      @Wowzersdude-k5c 3 роки тому

      That's because they are fake KN95's. You have to buy real certified masks. (There's lots of fake N95's too, even fake 3M's).

    • @HUBIndustrialSupply
      @HUBIndustrialSupply 3 роки тому

      This is a valid point, as we have mentioned in our responses to other comments. If you can't get your hands on N-95 respirators, the KN-95 offers a reasonably close alternative. Since we have trust issues with Chinese imports, it becomes necessary to verify the shipment's comformity to the KN-95 performance standard by doing additional testing on this side of the ocean. If you buy from a reputable supplier such as HUB Industrial Supply, you can have confidence that the KN-95 mask you are purchasing has passed inspection through independent evaluation.

      @@HUBIndustrialSupply Its not just the conformity I suspect. Remember a few years ago when they were adding lead to dog food to get the weight up so the pricing on the actual food part was actually higher. What about the poisons in make up. What about the millions of items they are shipping on a daily basis that are literally fake products. You know all that junk on Facebook and Wish. I would not put it past them to be trace poisoning the masks sent out of China with any number of things. Remember their goal is world domination. They are not going to do it by playing nice and fair.

    • @Wowzersdude-k5c
      @Wowzersdude-k5c 3 роки тому

      The Chinese STANDARD itself is fine (it's basically the same as N95). The problem is finding legit KN95's that aren't fakes. The Chinese government seems to have no problem letting fake masks be exported to the world. But you can find REAL KN95's made in China. The CDC has done the work for us - they list all the real and fake KN95's they have tested on their website.

  • @maskup3942
    @maskup3942 3 роки тому

    Good video, but there are 2 pieces of incorrect info. N95s do filter below 0.3 microns but are tested with 0.3 microns because that particle size is considered the MPPS (most penetrating particle size) -- i.e. it is the most difficult size to filter. So if a mask/respirator can filter 95% of 0.3 micron particles, it can do the same with particles above and below 0.3 microns. Also, NIOSH and GB2626 do not specify what strap type the mask needs to be but to-date NIOSH has not approved any ear-loop respirators. Whereas for KN95 (GB2626), so far in the market there are head-straps, ear-loops and neck-strap styles that have been approved by PRC. Hope this clears things up.

    Whats does OSHA say about fit testing of disposable respirators?

    • @HUBIndustrialSupply
      @HUBIndustrialSupply 3 роки тому

      The requirement to fit test depends on the environment rather than the form of respirator chosen. In environments determined to require respiratory protection according to FSR 1910.134, fit testing of disposable respirators would be required. In many industrial situations, respirators are worn by workers even though not required by environmental conditions, and no fit testing is necessary.

    KF-94 (Korea Filter) : Made in Korea KN95 : (??) Made in China Can you trust the performance of Chinese-made products? If KN95 is a Chinese product, it should be CN95... What is the reason for adding "K"?

    • @HUBIndustrialSupply
      @HUBIndustrialSupply 3 роки тому

      You raise some very interesting questions. Products coming out of China have a long-standing trustworthiness problem. There are many instances of masks imported to the U.S. labeled as KN95 that turned out not to come anywhere near the specs required. This is why it is imperative for the consumer to only purchase life-saving equipment from trustworthy supply chains. The KN95 masks sold by HUB Industrial Supply have been thoroughly tested by accredited labs in the U.S. and we stand behind the authenticity of the rating. We relied on www.osha.gov/memos/2020-04-03/enforcement-guidance-use-respiratory-protection-equipment-certified-under for much of our information about the technical aspects of the KN95. The chart on Appendix A of this document indicates that KN95 is what China calls the masks that conform to the GB 2626-2006 performance standard recognized in that country.

    • @springer-qb4dv
      @springer-qb4dv 3 роки тому

      Many KN95 masks do not perform up to N95 rating. "A team at the not-for-profit patient safety group noted that 60 to 70 percent of imported KN95 masks do not filter 95 percent of aerosol particulates. ECRI tested about 200 masks from 15 different manufacturers." - this is according to healthline.com

    • @Wowzersdude-k5c
      @Wowzersdude-k5c 3 роки тому

      The Chinese standard is good. The problem is there's Chinese manufacturers that make fake masks that don't perform to the standard (and the Chinese government doesn't seem to care if those masks flood the international market). You CAN find real Chinese made KN95's that perform well, but you have to ensure they are independently tested. The CDC has performed tests of many KN95's and you can find a list of which passed on their website. If you want my recommendation, buy the Powecom masks. They passed CDC testing and got FDA EUA approval. You can buy them with either ear loop or headbands (I recommend headbands). And they come in at about $1 a mask right now. Cheaper than 3M and about as good.

    strange, covid-19 is 0.2μm, n95 is about 95% effective for 0.3μm, not 0.2μm.

    • @Wowzersdude-k5c
      @Wowzersdude-k5c 3 роки тому

      This is a misunderstanding. They TEST at 0.3 micron but these masks are all very efficient at filtering out smaller particles as well. Indeed, it's EASIER to filter out particles smaller than 0.3 micron than it is at 0.3 micron. Why is that? Basically it has to do with the physics of aerosols that I don't feel like explaining. But trust me, if you get a real N95 or KN95, they will filter particles smaller than 0.3 micron just fine. This means they are very efficient at filtering viruses like COVID.

      John, without knowing what sources you are citing, we can only assume you are referring to the UL White Book, which does not approve of daisy-chaining extension cords or indoor use power taps (UL1363 [51.12]). However, this power tap is rated for outdoor use and is covered in UL498, which does not specifically prohibit its connection to an extension cord. A 2-ft. tritap is viewed more as an adapter, not as an extension cord. Hope this helps--Ken Lacey, content manager, HUB Industrial Supply.
