Sywell Airshow 2024 Highlights

No dogs allowed at this show sadly, so I grabbed my phone and off we went for a walk instead, not realising we were to witness one of the greatest series of performances for many a long year, of a kind that I thought were gone forever. Red Bull Flying Bulls, B-17 Sally B, P-51 Miss Helen, Bf 109 Buchon, P-47 Nellie B, Spitfire 9 ship, Hurricane Pair, Fury, Corsair Trio, Wildcat, Bearcat, P-38, ...

A Day Out with Kofi: A Galgo Espanol
Переглядів 1873 роки тому
Kofi was adopted from Spanish charity galgosdelsol.org (who named him "Madrono") via UK charity greyhoundsinneed.co.uk in August 2020 and has now settled into family life seamlessly as our first dog. In July 2021 we visited the Breckland area of Suffolk and the North Norfolk Coast, both wonderful places to take a hound. To mark a year since his Gotcha Day, I made this video. I hope it might ins...

Unnecessary technical information from Gow
Appreciated that my tone was unhelpful, apologies. The point is that aircraft are no longer allowed to display over people so that if it goes wrong they destroy trees and grass rather than humans with dogs. If we had known you were there we would have had to stop the show till you were gone which doesn’t work for anyone. The decision on dogs was not ours, this was the CAA who were watching us very closely it being our first year. Regarding the signage I take your point yes but there probably isn’t a sign on your front garden that I can’t have a picnic in it, I’m not saying I’m coming there to picnic but with what you’re saying I could. It isn’t possible to sign everywhere but fundamentally I only don’t want people standing here so that if it goes wrong they don’t die, I hope you don’t find that unreasonable. Anyway, please support the show in the future, I will work on the dog thing as you were not alone with wanting to bring your dog, and apologies for the tone of my initial frustrated comment.
Apology accepted, and I apologise for any inconvenience or stress it caused you at the time.
Stupid place to stand, specifically where you shouldn’t be. Anyone standing here in the future will be moved on by the police, have you seen what happened at Shoreham? Do you want that to happen to you? Also by trespassing your way there because you’re too cheap to buy a ticket you haven’t supported the event and therefore it is less likely to continue, congratulations.
You're wrong on a few counts there Richard Grace. Yes I know who you are. 1. It is a public footpath leading from the lay by. Walk it yourself and you will see that is true. There were no signs saying otherwise. If you want to designate it as out of bounds in future, fine. I don't see how it in any way differs from the approach to Waddington when they used to hold airshows. Ultimately I am happy to take responsibility for my own safety, at my own risk. What's wrong with that exactly? I'm not creating a nuisance or a distraction. If you felt that strongly about this then maybe you should have had a bit of foresight. 2. Your comment re Shoreham is bizarre and irrelevant. That accident did not occur on approach to landing and was probably the result of pilot negligence. Its victims were ultimately random and nothing to do with where they were situated at the time. Besides, they were not where they shouldn't have been, so the analogy is completely flawed. 3. I support many airshows and would happily have paid to go to this one, but for the organisers' seemingly arbitrary decision not to allow dogs. Happy to discuss further and I'll take exactly the same strident tone that you do in your rude comment. Finally, congratulations on the show, it was the best display I've ever seen and the weekend was obviously an absolute triumph.
A very cool location that is. Great video thanks
