Hi, good morning, very informative video.I'm from India. I'm a law graduate student. how can I join custom department, or narcotics department as government officer there? Please let me know. And please make video on scope for law students......
If I book on one Resort, will I be allowed to visit and use other Resort ?
Depends on the one you book. If you book at Unico, you can go to Hard Rock, but not the other way around. HR to HR, no problem. If you want to go to Unico, you would need to buy a day pass
@@MarioStingerPerpetualTraveller , Thanks for your responses. I booked Hard Rock Riviera Maya for this Christmas, but I plan to visit Hard Rock Cancun, do you know it is OK ? and how much cost for this visit ?

Can a person of FS be promoted to p2 or p3 ?
In the UN, you don't get promoted, you apply to a new post and get it or not. It is a small distinction, but it is important to think that way, because most staff at the UN, always actively look for new posts. Yes, FS are professional, not local, so yes, you can go from FS to P2-3 no problem.
Hi Mario. Can i please get a 2 adults + 2 kids quote from you for punta cana hard rock for 12/25-12/30/24? Thank you.
Sorry, I don't book for less than 7 nights anymore.
@ How about 12/23-12/30? Thanks.
Hello Mario, Can a person with p2 (Field staff) be promoted to p3?
Hello, yes, P2 is a perfect start to get to P5. Of course, P2 to P3 is the easier promotion, but you might have to move if you want to do it faster.
@@MarioStingerPerpetualTraveller one more queastion, Can a person with FS be promoted to p2?
Hi, thanks for the video. I am an American considering a job in Jordan or Kuwait. The company will provide me with a car and a furnished apartment with electric/internet etc and provide my phone. It would be at least 1 year, and multiple years if I like it. All I have to do is pay for food, the rest of the money I earn will go into the bank, and it will be a pretty decent pay. I want to go over some of my main concerns, hopefully you can give me your opinion. 1) I have a big pet lizard. He is a Tegu, and Tegus are pretty tough animals. I really do not want to give him up, I have had him for years and he is a loved pet. I read online I can bring pets to Kuwait or Jordan, but there are no specifics about lizards. He can't be sitting in a small cage in quarantine for weeks. Any thoughts on this process? 2) I know your briefly went over food, but can you give any more detail? I don't care about pork, but I do eat a lot of chicken, beef, potato's and rice. Good old American burger and fries is a staple of my diet. Can we get that there? If I cook for myself I'll make chicken and vegetables with rice. I have heard mixed reviews from Westerners on the food. Some say you will get very sick if you don't eat in the right places. 3) How is the internet? I am an avid computer gamer. Will I be able to play online games in Jordan or will the internet be too laggy? Do you have any insight on Kuwait vs Jordan, or do you only know Jordan? I do not drink, and I am a pretty quiet person. I really will only go to work, come home and relax. I might take a week off at some point to see the sights but I won't be out doing "night life" or anything. I do not know which country to pick and I am trying to get all the advice I can. I would say my #1 concern is which countries customs will treat my pet Tegu lizard the best.
Hello, I don't Kuwait that much, but Jordan is a LOT more liberal. Wine, beers and pork are available, but expensive. For food, no problem, you have Safeway and Carrefour that will have all you give in the US at good prices. The internet is really fast and cheap. Use Damamax they are the best. Zain is okay, but not as good. I cooked and made my own breads, so I didn't look for burger places, you can join the expat forums, they will know. Jordan have a nightlife for the younger crowd, so you will be okay there. As for your lizard, you can call or email Kristina at Jordanian Coast, they are the best and the owner is from New York. They will know.
@@MarioStingerPerpetualTraveller Awesome, thank you very much for the reply.
?? CLASS A? Your other video said you always use Class C.
If you only have a car, I would use Class A, because any accident is likely to cost a lot. If you have your household goods only, Class C and both, normally, I will go with Class C because the different is still huge because I have to pay extra to have my stuff packed.
Thank you
@@dollydots17 you are welcome
I am trying to move with my pets, they are all older so airways are kind of out of the question since we are on a budget and I'm worried about the stress of the cargo area making them pass. Do you know of any companies that let you travel with your cargo, that ship belongings and pets together?
Are you expecting some kind of schengen area between Jordan, Syria and Iraq. Some of these countries went through civil wars, so it’s kind of obvious you can’t just hop into the car and drive over there. Also, many countries don’t allow drones. I live in Switzerland and there are few places you can fly plus you need a license. Sounds like Jordan should make a video about the pros and cons of having you in their country.
No, I don't. It is sad that when I lived in Lebanon you could drive to Istanbul and now, you can't.
Omg this is so negative ahahah. Just visited this summer and had an amazing time. A lot of people actually speak English. As a European I speak 4 languages, so not impressed with Americans complaining that not everyone speaks their language.
This video is specifically for Americans and Canadians (or people from the UK) who are considering a job or a long time stay in Jordan. A lot of people in the comments don't seem to understand that. Nobody is saying someone in a non-English speaking country HAVE TO speak English, but if we have a choice of country A and country B, and country B has a lot more English speakers, it heavily influences the choice of where to go. I personally have a job offer overseas and Jordan is one of the choices. The amount of people I can communicate with will weigh heavily on my choice. Like it or not, English is the international language of business, and travel, followed by maybe Chinese. You don't HAVE TO learn English, but your life will likely be better if you do.

Is this just the cost to buy or rent a Shipping Container say 20' container is $2600 and then there is cost of shipping this container to destination, Is this correct??
Sadly not anymore. First, you don't buy the container,, they will land you one for the traverse. And these prices are from 3 years ago. Now, the price is about 8,000$ to 14,400$ for 20 to 40' container. The price incease a lot. But, you are better to check with a shipper as price vary a lot from country to country and time of the year.
@@MarioStingerPerpetualTraveller Is it possibly more economical to buy your own container if you need more time flexibility in packing and unpacking? And if so, do you think it would be easy to resell the container once you arrive?
Can you help me with an online written test for the program assistant position for tomorrow at undp
First I thought it's a mock video. I'm in shock. Wow, so arrogant and colonial. Excuse me, many informations are just plainly wrong. I guess your perspective living in Jordan was pretty limited, which is fair but don't make those generalized statements then please.
Hello, Mario! Would you please help me? I have 3 years of experience and I have clearly stated this in the essays. However, when I go to submit the application, I get a message like this one: "A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project/programme management, administration or related area is required. As a consequence, your application is likely to be screened out automatically by the system." But in the description, it says: "A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project/programme management, administration or related area is required." Could you give me a hand in discovering what I had wrong, please?
The fact that you said bloody country in the first line shows the level of your respect and education as a person.
Just a little interesting side note to this. In 1992 I was working as a forklift driver in a paper manufacturing warehouse and for some reason I had the idea that I would like to try to become a news photographer (video). Don't ask me where the idea came from I've since forgotten! I went on the internet and found a site where you could download a "Media Press Pass," and I did that. Filled it all out including a fingerprint and photo! I completely made up the name of "International News Network." Then at night I would go on police calls and take photos and video wearing my "Press Pass," until one night (after I got off work from the warehouse job) I met someone who actually worked for a TV news station and he gave me his number and asked me to call about anything I felt I had that was newsworthy as they didn't have anyone on duty overnight. Much longer story much shorter, I spent the next 20 years as a freelance news and sports video cameraman and a newspaper still photographer ALL OVER THE WORLD. I made enough money over the years to take an early retirement and began investing and did quite well. So, there you go, you don't necessarily have to have experience in the beginning, you just need the desire, the passion, get good at it, and REFUSE to take NO for an answer.
Posted 2 years ago and still better than everybody around thank you
Thanks Giorgio!
Can you ship from Trinidad to France or America?
Unless you have a left hand drive, you will not be allowed unless you have an exception and I know in the US that is onlyf for antique. In France, more likely, because you can have cars from the UK. But, you would have check the type of car and what is allowed.

Hi Mario thanks for all your informative videos. I have a question regarding PSA 4 contract, can you please tell me the related rules to this type of contract? thanks for your great advice!
Hello thebeingzineb, A PSA contract is usually for a fixed period, often for specialized work that requires specific expertise. These contracts are issued for temporary assignments or projects and at level 4, they expect significant experience and expertise. Yet, they don't include the same benefits as full-time staff contracts (like pensions or medical insurance), but the pay is often higher due to the temporary nature of the work. PSA contracts fall under the UN’s procurement and financial rules, and each contract is guided by the terms agreed upon between the contractor and the UN. So, they vary by location. If you need more info, lets me know.
@@MarioStingerPerpetualTraveller Excellent insights/ I have proven UN experience (+5 years in different roles) and i speak 3 official languages of the UN + field experience in emergency context, how can I use that to my advantage to negotiate the pay? and how much will i then get paid for a PSA 4? thanks!
Hi Mario, it's a great video. My situation is similar to yours (I have Australian and Vietnamese Passports). I understand what you're saying. The only question I have is when leaving Vn (to come back to Au) with Australian passort (without VN entry stamp), VN immigration will ask questions and I only need to show them 2 passports (VN passport with entry stamp)? Have you ever in that situation and what Vn immigration responded to that? Your reply is greatly appreciated!
Hello, I see why you were to ask that question. I guess I didn't explain correctly. You have two leaves here. The airline and the customs. You can tell that airline going to Vietnamese to go to Vietnam and that's good. When you get to airport in Vietnam, you tell the airline that you are flying out with your Australian passport. When you clean security, you will get to the customs officer, you can still show them your Vietnamese passport, because they don't care or know where you are going. They are only there to stamp you out. Then, you get to the gate and if you are checked again by the airline, you show your Australian passport. But, you can show both in Vietnam that's not illegal. I hope that helps

Hi Mario, thanks so much for this video. I'm currently trying to figure out moving from the US to Europe, but all I get is full service (they do/quote packing+loading) quotes from moving companies. Some even insist that they will have to unpack all of my already packed boxes, for customs reasons. Should I contact freight forwarders instead? Thanks!
I see that you might have 2 problems; US spec for the car is a problem in some countries depending on your status (diplomat, citizenship returning, expat, retiring etc). I can see that if you have stuff in the container that is taxable that customs might asked to open and inspect the container that you might have to pay a company to be there, because you might not be allowed in the customs area. But, forcing you to have them unpack at your home, no way. You don't have to accept that. Where are you moving to?
@@MarioStingerPerpetualTraveller moving to Germany, no car, nothing that would be taxed, as far as I know. The only "moving" company I've found so far who doesn't do packing or loading is upakweship. Still waiting on their quote.

When you fly to Vietnam you leave the us with Vietnamese passport so you leave the US as Vietnamese to go to Vietnam but the Canadain is still in the US so when you leave Vietnam to go to the US with Canadain passport aren’t they gonna say you still in the US when did you leave? Because you left to Vietnam as Vietnamese not Canadain

There is no immigration when you leave the US just the airline counter and he said to check in that counter as Vietnamese

We are Canadian diplomats looking at Amman as a posting. Do you think that all of the troubles with authorities would happen to diplomats too?
Hello, I had diplomatic status in Amman, the problem is that you have two types of diplomatic status there. First, plates; 7 and 8. 7, you will have the CD that indicate that you are a diplomat with the embassy. And 8, that you have a diplomatic status or that you are with an NGO. Police don't care much for plates starting with 8 and the card you get doesn't say "high" diplomat. So, it depends what you will get. Next, is the embassy or organisation you are with. Like the US embassy often fall like a ton of bricks on the government for messing with their citizens and diplomats. In Amman, the Canadian embassy, unless the head of mission changed since 2022, too bad, since he was rather weak. Same with UNRWA for the UN staff which will not help staff like i have seen other UN organizations do. Let me know if you need more details or help.
