      Which is why u practice both so u can master them both they’re still similar that almost like saying practicing with a recorder screws up flute playing which it doesn’t it’s all muscle memory

    I don’t know why people trash the jsax. It doesn’t claim to be a real sax and is designed for beginners. I have an alto sax, but I wanted something to take outside or for practicing while traveling. I have both the jsax and a nuvo flute, and I love them.

      From the seller: The jSax uses the standard Nuvo resin reeds with a 1½ and 2 provided with the kit. It can also use an Eb clarinet cane reed and some soprano sax mouthpieces will also fit. You may also want to try the synthetic reed by Légère which fits all Nuvo instruments.

    This is great thanks. My son and I are new to jsax and I have a full sax that I want to play, however I think the jsax will give me the chance to practice more since it is smaller and easier to transport. Can I ask if you can compare 2 more songs how about "Baker street" and "Belong to the City by Glenn Frey"

    I used to play Tenor in band and would love to again but I live in an apartment and I know people would be really pissed about the noise. I was thinking of getting one of these as its not as intense so I can at least play around untill I can buy a home and get a real sax again. I live in a very expensive city so it's a downfall in that regard. Thank you for the review

    H Ethan. Correct me if I am wrong but aren't you playing a Nuvo Dood rather than a J sax in this video?

    • @ethanf.6344
      @ethanf.6344 2 роки тому

      Hi Jamie, no this is a jsax. A dood is a bit smaller and the keys are a little less intricate. The dood is an easier version but it is easy to mix up the two. If you look at a picture comparison, you can see it very clearly.

    Thank you for talking about this instrument and providing such a nice comparison. I've been thinking of picking up the sax. I would like to learn a new musical instrument because I developed a physical disability that prevents me from playing my violin. The Jsax looks like a nice, lightweight, "preview" of a real sax. Again, you did a great and honest comparison. I appreicate it. I think I might be buying one of these some day!

    Got a question for you. I often get a squeal before my notes come in. Any suggestion how to fix this or would you know what could be causing the issue? its only on the first breath on the first note or when doing a note in multiples. Sorry i dont know the proper terminology got this stuff.

    • @ethanf.6344
      @ethanf.6344 4 роки тому

      @Enter User Name Here. That's a great question. When you play a certain lick or part of a piece, it can be difficult to get that first note out. Wether it's not being prepared to play that note, or forgetting how to change your embouchure to the strength that you need to play that note, there are ways to fix it. There are so many different things you could do. What I suggest, is to take the horn and look at these common issues and assess yourself. 1. You may be biting too hard on the reed, so relax your mouth a bit. 2. Your embouchure may be too loose and you need to tighten up a bit. 3. You may be tonguing too hard on the first note. 4. You are not tonguing hard enough. These two, are tactics you should use every time to play the first note. 1. Make sure when you articulate, it is clear, not shaky. 2. This is probably one of the most important ones. Use steady, even possibly slow, warm air. So I would toy around with all of those things and see what works best for you. If nothing works, you can ask me and I'll give you some more suggestions.
