A bit of everything including travel, cruising, fishing, caravan, road trains, how to and much more.
Old Onslow
Old Onslow (Western Australia) was established in 1885 on the mouth of the Ashburton River. Due to flooding and silting issues Onslow was relocated to its current position in 1925. Free camping is allowed along the Ashburton River with access to limited facilities.

How to Remove a Cocos Palm Stump (2)
We've used that Robe rest area. We've found that it's wise to get as far away from the highway as possible. The trucks seem to run all night. The free camping along the Ashburton out at the old town-site is great for a couple of days if there's a spot available. Is the "crocodile sighted in this area" sign still there near the causeway? We've also enjoyed a couple of nights at the Ocean View CP. Seems like a lot of people from the south west park up at Onslow for WA's colder months. Recommend booking ahead if you can. I'm enjoying following you around Doug. Thanks.
Hi Ranger yes there is a bit of traffic noise at Robe Rest Area. No croc sign sighted at the causeway but I still didnt get too close to the water. Onslow is a nice place even if I couldnt catch a fish.
Just serperb
Thanks Glenn, good hearing from you.
Nice aerial footage.
Thanks Rex
Nice work Doug. My favourite part of WA. Thanks for taking us along. I appreciate the work that goes into making these episodes.
Thanks Ranger
My poppy stack supposed to driv e them
Many people go over the top on fancy solar power set ups when water capacity is the limiting factor if you’re free camping. Your jerry for drinking water is a great tip. 👍🏽
Thanks Ranger
I do mostly the same, but the few extra tips will help guys.😊
Thanks Stephen

The small bowl in the sink is one of the best hacks I’ve ever seen. The other hack I got from you that you didn’t even know you had, was the elastic tie down above your sliding door in the bathroom. (I could see it in the last shot) Our new Jayco only has a pop stud, it’s terrible. Thanks
Thanks Otto, Im pleased you got something of use out of the video.
nice one doug
Thanks Gillie
Thank you for making this video. We are in this cabin over Christmas 2024. I was a bit concerned as it is considered an obstructed balcony - I am very pleased with this cabin.
Thanks Klevine, great cabin and great location
Good job on getting it out the whole 🙌🙌
Thanks Westozalien

Great video. Looking ant booking here. Looks great. We have booked at Lagoon next May and I wonder what the road was like going out there? Did you head there from Warroora Station? I have seen some videos that suggest a couple of ways to get there and one road was very corrugated.
Yes we went to The Lagoon campground from Warroora Station Homestead and we accessed the homesteads via the south road from the Minilya Exmouth road. (just north of Lyndon River)
@ Thanks. Was it ok going? We will be towing a caravan.
@@ourtripsaroundoz The road was ok if you drive to the conditions.
@ perfect. I thought as much. I appreciate your reply 😊
Had a few long lunches at Whim Creek when we were fishing Balla Balla , anyone camped at Balla Balla creek - on the right before causeway ?
No one was camped on the right before the causeway. That is the location of Balla Balla townsite
@@doug_hardman Yes , we used to camp right on the old well alongside the creek , best time was 14 weeks there in 2011 - mud crabs and mangrove jack
I learnt what alcohol was at whim creek 1966
Love it. Whim Creek, the only place I've seen a helicopter parked in a pub car park. More trees back in the day too.
Im sure there are a lot of interesting Whim Creek stories
Thank you very much. Happy travels!
Enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing. BTW, just watched your caravan tour & storage from 2 months ago. Do u have a link for the Temu lounge covers? Many thanks.
Thanks Hope. I put the link in the Caravan Tour video again. Not sure why it didn't work the first time.
Great video Doug and Nat. No vandalism at homestead even though I know it’s way out in the sticks. Terrific. We can imagine what the lagoon must have looked like in its glory and hopefully it will flourish again.
Thanks Ros and Pete Im sure it will be looking great again in a year or two.
I went to the "Last Hᾱngἶ" at Millstream in 1985-86, a really big night out.
Sounds like fun
Hi there, thanks for all your tips. Do u have a link for the Temu couch covers? Our set up is same as yours. Thanks
Thanks Hope Yes - I have a link for the covers - will pop in below. These covers come in a set of two, but they are exactly the same so you only need one set. I purchased two thinking the seat and the back covers would be different. I'm keeping the second set so I always have one on hand. Enjoy :). www.temu.com/goods.html?_bg_fs=1&goods_id=601099553765544&sku_id=17592371388279&_x_sessn_id=wqvezv6vm9&refer_page_name=bgt_order_detail&refer_page_id=10045_1731379847559_uginvdj4pw&refer_page_sn=10045
Many thanks for the link. Happy travels.
Hello Doug and Natalie. Another interesting video. The camera work is very good indeed. Cheers😊
Thanks Tyrone
Can you please let me know what you run your car (front and rear) and van tyre pressures at? I'm still playing around with my set up and haven't quite landed on the right pressure for those corrugations (yet). Great episode thanks. I haven't been back to Millstream since the early '80's.
Hi Ranger I keep the tyre pressure simple , car 35 all round and caravan 45
@@doug_hardman thanks Your rig is a bit heavier than mine by about 20%. So 80% of the pressures you're running is pretty much what I do for corrugations (car 28; van 35) which is about as comfortable as I've found - so I'll stick with it. Cheers and safe travels
@@Ranger670 The tyre pressures I gave were for bitumen, I drop 10-15 pound all round for corrugations and drive to the conditions.
@@doug_hardman interesting - I'd thought you'd go a bit harder on bitumen. Anyway, thanks for the information. I'm getting there!
I've had a few beers at Millstream back in the mid 70's. And, yes, what happened to the tropical paradise? There was one pool there that was crystal clear. You could see the bottom. We measured out a fallen palm frond at about 8m as a gauge but couldn't touch bottom. I also remember being able to drive up and park right by Python Pool without any problems.
Hi Colin There was a track near the homestead that probably went to a pool but the track was closed due to the flooding and fires earlier that year.
Hello Doug and Natalie. Always interested in watching your videos. Regards
Hi Tyrone thanks for watching
I trust the cemetery is being preserved. Would be criminal to let a sacred site be let go.
The cemetery is fenced
Thanks for sharing some more history with us mate 👌 Cheers Brad & Fi
Hi Brad and Fi, thanks for watching
Very interesting 😊
FYI, I saw a post on FB group back in early oct "The popular Greenhills Inn has changed owners and will not be operating as a pub anymore 🙁 - The new owners are very friendly and will transform it into an art retreat in the near future" Thx for your vids
Thanks Phat
I'm considering taking a trip with this cruise line in April 2025 on the Ruby Princess. I absolutely can not stand filth. This will be my very first cruise if I do decide to go, and I would 'nt want to experience any type of uncleanliness.😮 😮😮😅❤
Hi Catherine I have been on many Princess cruises and everything has always been very clean. If that is not the case it is generally due to untidy passengers and usually sorted out very quickly.
Nice video
They got to clean the boat. I was on it in September and it’s dirty offered to help but no response
Doug add interesting features to google maps. I checked and the wells are on google maps but they don't have pictures and descriptions. Add pictures and short description with a link to your UA-cam video.

Thanks Ranger

@@doug_hardman It’s definitely been added mate 👌
Very interesting, thanks for sharing. Are there sections where we could travel on that are suitable for a well set up serious offroad caravan and 4WD? We are competent and capable and well equipped, but a few creature comforts as we are getting older is also nice.
Hi Graeme For the first section as shown in the video, you could base yourself at Mullewa Caravan Park and do a day trip to visit the wells up to Hughies Rock. The stock route partially follows the Carnarvon to Mullewa Road between Mullewa and Gascoyne Junction. ie about half the wells are not too far from the road and the others I havent been to. If you take a caravan you would probably need to drop it off and do day trips. A couple of the wells have been restored and are alongside the road. I will be posting my next stock route video soon. You may like to have a look at my UA-cam channel if you are interested in Hunts Wells and goldfields ghost towns.
Any fish in it?
Hi Irek I dont know but I wouldnt think so
I s that legal?
Yes it is, there are lots of them operating on the roads up north in Western Australia
😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks. Well done 😀
Looks like fun, but quite scary
What's the gross weight of the whole rig?
Hi Simon I dont know what the gross weight is but it is the biggest road train I have seen on the road.
The method used at the end is genius !
Thanks Flatperth
Great shots Doug. Beautiful rock structures. ……. and cold water!!! Hope you enjoyed the burgers.
Great scenery. Thanks for sharing.

Have you guys heard of the Prophet Rael? He says in 1973 in France he was visited by an alien named Yahweh who explained that all life on Earth was created scientifically by scientists from his civilization (known to us as ‘Elohim’) and that their interactions with humanity throughout history created the religions. They educated select prophets to guide humanity and spread a message of peace and love. These prophets include Moses, Elijah, Buddha, Jesus, Mohammed and many others. Now that we’re advanced enough to understand this they want us to build an embassy to welcome them, the prophecised ‘Third Temple’. Rael wrote down the information in a book called “Intelligent Design - Message from the Designers”.
