No offense taken, we appreciate the comment and you sharing a bit of your experience. A few thoughts from my (dad) perspective: 1. "Religion" is man made, Jesus hates it, just read about his interactions with the Pharisees. 2. We are NOT trying to teach our children religion, we're trying to teach them Christianity which is the ONLY "religion" in the world where the Founder died so His followers could live and nothing we can do can earn that, in fact the ONLY thing a Christian contributes to his salvation is his sin. Incidentally when one examines the cumulative evidence it's also the MOST reasonable explanation for this world and why it is the way it is. 3. When we started this channel and playlist at the beginning of the year my boys and I made a commitment to finish it (meaning reading through the entire Bible in a year on our YT channel). They are under my God-given authority for a short time and over time my authority turns into influence until that’s all it is so yes I do have to exercise that authority while I have it to do what we're commanded is best for them such as in Deut 11:19 plus we want them to take their commitments seriously. 4. Finally, we know from scripture that our sinful hearts sometimes would rather do activities other than spend time in God's word AND as Paul states in Eph 6:12 "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places." So you see it's not just their sinful heart but the siren call of idols put in front of them (and me) by the enemy that causes some of the resistance. I’m far from perfect, no human ever has or ever will be other than Jesus Christ and believe me, my children know that. I constantly ask them for forgiveness for sinning against them, such as losing my temper and pray in front of them to ask God for forgiveness and thank God we can repent and fall before the cross of grace and be forgiven for sinning against a holy, perfect God. But let me be clear, once a person repents and puts his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, they are forgiven once and forever. Acts 16:30-33 when the Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas the question every person must ask at some point: “Then he (jailer) brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” And they spoke the word (gospel) of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family.” Thank you again for your comment.

@@GUJIscrip If you're not already, take your family to a solid Bible teaching Church. I recommend Calvary Chapel if there's one near you. Read through the Gospels with them. Start with John. Do that a bunch of times. Lean on your pastor.
