Started playing piano late 2020 early 2021 in which I was 17 at that time. Before I discovered piano and classical music, I was playing video games most of the time. However that changed quickly as the only thing I do nowadays is practicing the piano. I even got accepted to a music school for 2024. I will be posting my progress and performances on this channel.

My attempt at the hardest part in Chopin etude op.10 no.4 (Torrent) + (Read Description)

Any advice or critique? For me this is the hardest part of the piece, I have already spent a few months on the piece (like 4-5 months.) It can probably sound better with a bit more slow practice. Anyway, what do you think? Piano Journey: I have only been playing piano for 2 years and 11 months

Only Romantic music?
I was waiting for Scriabin in the list. What a good surprise <3
Is there any chance to get in contact with you? I'm asking because most people of my age (teenagers/young adults/people in their twenties) aren't that interested in (playing) classical music. Not to mention they can't play that well as you here ;)
Hello Kat! Sure. You can contact me on Instagram! My Instagram is liam_r2. And the profile picture is the same one as my youtube channel. You should see it pop up first. I will happily talk to you on there!
As James said, you ARE an uncovered talent lol
Boy how the h... xD
Every piece which doesnt have a musical context will end up in the basket of forgetfullness only Chopin and then Liszt are recognisable the rest as i said are dead pieces
Great selections. I know it's impossible to please everyone, so you did well. Glad that Liszt got a spot on here :)
Liszt is my absolute favorite! Along with Medtner and Scriabin.
Some recognition for the 2nd ballade finally xD, and I loved the Chopin coda for his 3rd sonata as well! The fact that you put Scriabin as the first shows you have some similar taste to mine ^_^
6:12 scared the shi outta me
Ha Ha. Sorry it was a bit too loud😆
I would add pletnevs arrangement of tchaikovsky's pas de deux as well as ravels toccata la tombeau de couperin
Should listen to Pompa baldi play this piece Scriabin
Thank the heavens Liszt sonata in b made it on here. I've started to wonder what otherworldly things inspired Liszt as he wrote it. Eveything about that piece is just amazing. Great vid!
I have almost the same situation like you. Also started playing piano 3 years for fun and since 2022 november I started studying piano seriously. Same guy who commented about bach.
Thats Great to hear! I wish you all the best on your Piano Journey.
Wheres Bach dude?
There will definitely be more Bach in the next video. I started listening to more Bach and I am really starting to like him.
Is a list of the featured pieces available, please?
There is a list in the description.
Liszt Sonata D Major Passage
OMFG, dat last Scriabin's is truly banger and so brutal.
It truly is a banger but it is not even remotely brutal. According to a poem that Scriabin wrote on the piece, it probably represents the fulfillment of one's innermost desires and ecstasy.
Wow, you really uncovered a talent!
"this list is purely subjective" NO you are OBJECTIVELY correct with lugansky. he eats every single time, he's my favourite pianist ever lol
Nice! I also love Lugansky.
Zimmerman appears twice lol.
The greatest single moment in piano music is the reentrance of Theme 2 before the Coda in Chopin’s Fm ballade. There are two measures in that section which comprise the greatest five seconds of music ever written.
If you’re talking about the measures where the the right and left hands play 3 on 2 with the tune coming every 4th note, I agree. Super hard to play too.
@@ryanmanning2319 That’s exactly the part I meant, thanks. Unbelievably beautiful.
Not bad, but this is a little romantic biased... nah don't worry about it; it was an awesome vid! Glad to see some of my favorite pieces
Very goode list 👍🏻
Thank you!!
ballade in F, the most special piece to me, nice to see it on here
Same!! I also have a very special connection to the piece.
s-c-h-u-m-a-n-n
id also recommend liszt's benediction de dieu dans la solitude, some amazing moments in there
Nice to see some Medtner love <3
Thanks for commenting :) LukeFaulkner It is so nice to see you here! I am a huge fan of you!😃
Great playing. How much time have you dedicated to playing this etude?
Thank you so much :) I have no idea how many hours in total I have on this piece, but it took me like 7 months to get it to this level. 👍🏻
Great progress. Keep going!@@liam2741
All the Chopin ballade codas are great but the 2nd has to be my least favorite. It's still great, but the other three are even better.
Recording have chaged a lot they are completely different from original ones
Chopin! ✨️🎹🤎😭🤘🏼
The climax in Rachmaninov Etude Op 39 No 5 is thrilling. All of Lizst Piano Sonata is thrilling. Scriabin Piano Sonata 4 ending is jubilant, erotic and great fun to play. Not included here but I'd say the ending of Scriabin Piano Sonata 5 is also magnificent.
una maravilla
Tozer is the best medtner interpreter, change my mind.
Liszt’s sonetto 104 del Petrarca is so beautiful.
sadly the interpertation here is bad
The section at 9:08 in the Beethoven sonata has to be the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard. It’s like the very essence of music unraveling and being put back together again, hard to believe a human being even composed this.
a me oiace Richard Goode
Superlative
I think this needs parts 2 and 3.. and 4, 5....10 lol too missed goodies
I am definitely going to make a part 2 some day! 👍🏻
I feel like we have similar tastes
For chopin's sonata no 3, I suggest you include the coda too. It makes the entire section feel complete
Rachmaninoff ❤❤
No Boulez?
What Boulez moment
@@dzordzszs Many from the 2nd piano sonata.
OHH bro i really love scriabin sonata! thanks!!!
The scriabin sonatas are transcendental easily some of the best works of art put on this planet
Thanks for commenting ;) I love your content btw!
np and thanks!@@liam2741
GOATED INDEED
This selection from the Beethoven sonata is among my favorite selections of music ever composed.
I don't think I could ever get inside the mind of someone who likes Ballade 2 more than Ballade 4.
Ballade no.2 is just very special to me.
@@liam2741 Can't argue with that. I hardly have a better reason for liking Ballade 4.
true, I expected coda of 1st or 4th
Imo, 2nd coda is significantly and emotionally better than the 1st or 4th coda
Pogorelich plays the Scriabin Sonata 4 coda like a 10,000 horsepower locomotive. Zhukov plays it with just as much energy, but it is more of a lively energy. Matches the spirit of the work better.
Joseph Villa is amazing in this coda
Pogos 2005 playing is the best :D
*Schumann
Yeah okay, starting the list with *that* part from Rach Op. 39 No. 5... good taste, agree completely
Was one of my fav rach for a while
