David Brandt was surprised with the Inaugural No-till on the Plains Legacy Award. It seems only fitting to have the award named No-till on the Plains The David Brandt Soil Legacy Award. The Annual Award recognizes innovation, disrupting the norm, promotion of building soils and soil biology for our future. “Long live the soil.”

Sea is full of water and water vapor is 95% is because of it.. not because of rain water not infiltrating.. I am surprised her lack of wisdom on this.. Fossil fuel is the reason why soil has become bad.. capitalism doesn't work alone.. everything is connected..she may be a good scientist but I guess she is just that..

I really enjoyed his talk about soil health principles first. Things come from the people and go up. Trickle down economics has never worked. Unionization, co-ops, local barter systems, honor-system curbside sales, and treating employees as good or better than you treat your livestock (so they can afford a place to live, food, and be happy, but if they don't fit the farm, or its their time, then only 1 bad day - fired). Most corporations treat their employees worse than caged chickens that never see sunlight or feedlot cows that can't eat the food without tons of antibiotics, or homeless dairy bull calves that just get slaughtered as waste. Unions are the community of the workplace. Employers that embrace their employee union often get the best of the best employees.

Climate change is a natural process - not man made. The Pinatubo Volcanic eruption caused a slight cooling of the earth....and a slight drop in CO2 due to the lower temp of the ocean surface caused by the cloud cover from the volcano. The volcano contribution determined the level of CO2 over any man made CO2 contribution.

She mentions that there are some ranches with as much diversity as 500-700 species. I wonder if she has a list somewhere of all of the farms or ranches she recommends as an ideal to a particular area. I know she's been to Gabe Browns place, but he doesn't work with that much, does he? There are areas around here (Texas) that are very susceptible to drought, and I would like to know why. If I look out on their pastures, they seem pretty diverse. Is it mostly that they are not diverse ENOUGH? Is it that overgrazing has caused the succession to move backwards a bit to those dryer species and to keep many of the forbs which would encourage more fungal relationships to grow, which also keeps the plants from being able to get more water underground through mycelial relationships? Is it that the grasses are cut too short much of the season? During drought, I think some people assume it's better to have short cut grass as opposed to long since it is basically like tinder.

11:53 Yet man made desertification of the Seria Forst of North America by man. Had nothing whatsoever to do with Fossil fuel or natural phenomenon cmimat change MAN DID THIS..! FIRST THE BODY ODER STINKING ROMANS CUT DOWN ALL THE TREES TO HEAT THEIR PUBLIC BATHES. THEN CORINTHIANS RASED WEAT ON WHAT WAS LEFT OF THAT SOIL TELL THERE WAS NO NITROGEN IN THE AND NORTH AMERICA BECAME THE BLOWING ASS SAND DOOM DESERT IT IS TODAY. ITS MAN CLIMATARD CHANGE PEOPLE. AND IT HAS NOTHING WHAT SOEVER TO DO WITH FOSILL FUEL..!

Nothing what soever to do with fossil fuel, In 1903, before GASOLENE was used in the industrial revolution, weather patterns were warm enough for the Chinese DeLand family to expand their Citrus fruit industry from Florida up the coast to the Carolinas east, and west all the was from south Georgia to Mexico on the southern gulf of Mexico.! However since 1903 and the advent of GASOLENE with the industrial revolution of the USA Middle class. ALL THOSE CHINESE DELAND CITRUS FRUIT INDUSTRIES DIED OUT BECAUSE IT IS NOW TO COULD FOR GOD'S CITRUS FRUIT TREE TO CONTINUE. CITRUS FRUIT TREES CREATED BY GOD CANNOT LIE.! WHAT GLOBAL WARMING..? WHAT CLIMATE CHANGE..? HISTORY OF HISTORY RECORDS NO EVIDENCE OF THESE FOOLHARDY EXPRESSIONS OF A COMMUNIST OCCULT RASHEEM THATS ONLY INTENT WAS TO TAX THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION WOULD INTO THE STONE AGE..!

That was the most informative talk on soil health, microbes, human health, plant health, ways to build carbon in soil and the effects on climate change. I never new that water vapor was effecting climate change. It reminds me of the Dust Bowl years ago in America history where farmers just grew wheat. Droughts came and the soil blew away. Biodiversity crops and stimulating soil microbes is the key to fixing climate change.

I wonder whether the addition of compost or livestock poop would have similar beneficial soil microbiome effects to sowing a cocktail of diverse plants alone? Giant Agrichem has vested financial interests which are opposed to regenerative farming. Water vapor as a greenhouse gas is over-emphasized by the speaker because it is a fluctuating factor, unlike the accumulation of atmospheric CO2 which remains at least constant & historically has been increasing year on year.

Most coral reefs are also on continental shelves. Correlation is not causation. Christine Jones talks a lot and makes many claims without pointing to research to back these. No doubt there's a lot of sound observations and indeed evidence, but it's a shame she has to wade into areas outside her expertise and quite frankly talk rubbish. Her commentary on water vapour, co2, and greenhouse was misleading and unnecessary. Leave that to the climatologists.

That's what they taught him to do; the fact it didn't work is why he's a crusader now! He said he'd take that mistake hard in heart until the very day he dies. "To murder" means "to kill a human being unlawfully". An elephant is not a human being. Get a grip, you loony. Great Men are born of great suffering; you sound like a child.

Allan Savory's insights into how to grow more crops sustainably while returning life (and carbon) to the soils is truly wonderful. It will undoubtedly increase productivity and improve the life of the people practicing it. In fact it has already done so where it is practiced.... but. There is always a 'but'. In the words of Richard Dawkins. "If there is ever an increase in agriculture productivity, population will increase until the original state of misery has been re-established". If you doubt the accuracy of this statement, look at the latest series by David Attenborough. This is the one which starts with a picture taken from a satellite circling the moon and the earth rises over the horizon. In his opening statement Attenborough says that "since we landed on the moon, 50 years ago, the population of the earth has more than doubled". Fortunately there is a 'Get-out-of-jail" card. That is to say, a way to stop this insane, destructive explosion of our population. mtkass.blogspot.com/2009/02/malthus-pyramid-schemes-starvation-and.html

Well I have another ‘but’ Population growth stops and even often reverses somewhat in developed countries. Pick any developed country and you’ll see this is true. Many countries are in the same process that current developed countries have been through. We could let them just get on with it. Technology allows us to do more with less. And feed more people with less land. I see no problem with population numbers. Human ingenuity has not reached its limit.
