I know that this ad is old and that G-Shock might be discontinued, but I do like to see a regular/positive LCD of that instead of negative display.

Fun fact: That G-Shock is the DW-5200, and that US commercial actually saved the entire G-Shock lineup before Casio pull the plug on the G-Shock after the first two failures after the DW-5000C.

This ad is not from 1983, it’s simply impossible. The model used here is the DW-5600c which came out in 1987, so it must be from the late 80’s. The first Casio hockey ad featured the DW-5200c “Hero”, both of which came out in 1984. There was no hockey ad in 1983 when the first DW-5000c and WW-5100c models came out.

From what I've heard, this commercial is responsible for bringing the G-Shock watches to mainstream popularity. Back in 1983, the early G-Shock watches were not selling well in Japan. That is surprising to me. How awesome looking and ahead of the time these G-Shock watches were.
