About journal hopping, maybe you could rip the pages out of the journal that you’ve officially dropped and stick them in a “catch all” journal? I do that with pocket notebooks, I keep buying pocket notebooks because they’re cute and then NOT using them because they’re too tedious to keep as a regular journal (they make my hand cramp up too. But anyways) So I’ve started taking a pocket notebook with me when I’m out and carrying the whole big journal would be too much of a pain. And then I only write on one side of the page, and when I get home, I rip them out and glue them in my regular journal Though I guess that depends a lot on whether (basically) wasting half of a notebook is worth it for you, if you’d ever go back to old journals once pages have been ripped out, if you even like the bulk that gluing so many papers down would bring? Oh, or I guess a ring binder thingy could work too if you’re punching holes in the pages

I’ve always worked in bigger journals but I’m most likely going to pick up field notes whenever I finish my current journal. I’m trying not to be a journal hopper

I use fps in my field notes but only the fine nibs or extra fine.

Your pocket journal set up with a stack of completed field notes is sooo satisfying!! I'm going back to a small-ish size travelers notebook style with inserts for next year myself... I need the satisfaction of finishing/starting a new insert every little bit to keep me going and not jumping around formats/sizes/planners/etc.😂
