Thank you for the video!
great video
Thank you for the video it was very informative but I only have one question, how come you didn't change the transmission filter?
Weird how there’s no videos around how to repair this simple but vital part
I just changed my coolant too on my honda. Used napa brand asian blue coolant. Every 5 years they say. Petcock btw
I have a 2018 Outlander Sport. My local stealer actually said that Mitsubishi doesn't recommend changing the two filters, just the fluid. SW Houston Mitsubishi.
Awesome video, including the exact same comments I was making trying to work with the "push-on" terminal connectors. Well done. If you ever get the chance, the power cord sleeve is supposed to loop around the peg in the center. I took over a dozen pictures as I dismantled the switch assembly.
What MPG gas mileage do you happen to get with mixed driving? Thank you @Anthony
Dude, showing the detail of how to put the buttons all back together saved me. Thank you for taking the time to make the video!
Hey Anthony, sorry if this is irrelevant to this video, but how is the Castrol oil that you used for the transmission holding up? Thanks
Hi there. I now have 159,000 miles on it. I’ve changed the oil a few times and still driving perfect! Thanks
Somebody said you need a reset for the transmission for the modular or something
Hi, ya I get about the same. Always high 20’s low 30’s on the fwy.
Thanks for doing this. What do you get for mpg? I get about 23-25mpg with the same fwd 2.4L. If i drive 65mph all freeway, i get about 31mpg. Thanks.
Bro how to close polo vivo oil cap

I have a 2021 Sport 2.0 ltr. The trans cooler filter housing is right up against the lower motor mount bracket. Any ideas on how to remove the housing to change the filter cartridge? It's driving me crazy that they did this. The filter housing on the regular Outlander is super easy to access, but on this one it's totally blocked.
Any issues after 2 years?
@@turbojobo 159,000 miles - zero issues
Nice Pleasre do a video in say nine months showing what it looks like
Ok will do
How often do you have to change the trans fluid on Outlanders?
I was told every 50-60k. I’ve changed it 3 times now and it has 156,000 miles…zero issues.
@@Anthony-ox4pt nice. I've been changing it every 15K. I know its been a bit much, but was concerned with CVT wear. Great job on the video and thanks for doing this again.
@@TheTimeCat I agree. Now that I have so many miles on it, I’m going to change it more often.
@@TheTimeCat 159,000 miles and still going strong
Keep up the great work. Im hoping to make it 200k on the cvt@@Anthony-ox4pt
Thank you for this video!
Used the same fluid on my 2013 suzuki sx4, did four drain and fill in total. vehicle is running fine afterward.
Mine won’t close I need help bad, been doing this for 30 mins now it won’t close
The newer ones are all plastic and are a pain to open
ANTHONY, can you do a response on here? How did the Castrol fluid hold up? The dealer is telling me that the oil is bad but some forums said it was good...I want to know how it held up in your beast. THANKS.
Hi there. Sorry for the late response. I’m still driving my Outlander. I now have 154,000 miles on it and I’ve changed the fluid a few times since this post. Runs perfect for me…
159,000 - zero issues
Flawless video thank you got it done in 10 seconds
Youre the first person on YT to use that fluid.... how is it? Just curious🙂
I now have over 150,000 miles on the Outlander and it’s still going strong. Zero issues. I’ve changed the oil since this vid. But still, I’ve never had any issues with this vehicle besides normal maintenance. Crazy…
@@Anthony-ox4pt thanks for replying
Cheers, thanks for the video
So ive been a castrol fan for years. Im using their cvt fluid in my honda. Did several drain and fills to make sure all the original oem fluid was out per what castrol suggested. Here is what they sent to me. It is our belief that Castrol makes the finest lubricants available today, therefore, we are very pleased to hear from you. Regarding the Castrol Transmax ATF/CVT Universal, the fluid is suitable for use where any specifications listed on the bottle or the Technical Information Data Sheet are called for. The fluid is not licensed by the Original Equipment Manufacturers. Castrol cannot guarantee compatibility with competitive fluids as we do not know their proprietary formula; therefore, we recommend a complete drain of the transmission and refill with Castrol Transmax ATF/CVT Universal. This should include draining the torque converter, which holds about one-half of the ATF volume -- dropping the pan will not cause the torque converter to drain. Castrol USA
Thanks for the helpful video.
Hi Anthony. I have a little question. This process works with Outlander 2018 2000cc. In other way. Is neccesary change some filters when I change the transmition oil?
Thanks
Hey Anthony, did everything go well in the end with that oil change for the CVT? Today, talking to a mechanic friend, he told me that the original oil in that box is yellow and it shouldn't have a red one. Greetings and thanks for that piece of video. ---Used Google Translate---
@@omarlozano8037 ya, I’ve had zero issues. 159,000 miles on the tranny. I did another drain and fill and still going strong. Amazing. I keep hearing about a paper filter that needs to be changed. Supposedly it’s under the battery? I think I’ll see if I can find it.
Thanks!
Thanks for the video. I replaced the part and was surprised that my hood wouldn't close at all. The spring was stuck open (mine was from Kilen Springs). I tried to press the spring against the floor and it wouldn't move. Then I kept rotating the upper side and had a few whacks with a rubber malllet (totally not safe probably) and it started moving.
Thanks or this video! My Eclipse had the same problem!
The real question will the castrol mix with what is left of the Mitsubishi fluid.
@@kennylavay8492 great question. I’m sure it did to some degree. I did another drain and fill and still running great. 159,000 miles on it.
How many miles do you have on your i have 305,000 on a 2016 the Cvt transmissions you have to service all the time
@@adamgoof dang!! That’s awesome!! I’m at 159,000 so far. Def routine maintenance is a must!!
Don’t you have to have something to reset it
What about transmission filter?
So good . and thanks for your information . I have same problem ( Lube belt error) and my trademill is CT5.4 I did several times STOP+SPEED UP or INCLINE UP + SPEED DOWN. but the alarm remains all keys work correctly ( I heard a beep sound for each key ). I guess the problem is in the main board and it has not been reset . Is there any solution to reset the mainboard? Thanks
Clear instructions. Thanks for sharing👍
I like way you explain and took video
Michelin owns Phantom tyres. They're sold by Discount Tire.
Which site did you use?
Worked perfectly....from a cali girl🎉
Can i use that oil to my outlander sport 2011 ? Im afraid
How is the fluid holding up?
Still working great. I just changed the fluid again at 136,000. Zero issues
@@Anthony-ox4pt excellent. I'm using it in my 19 Civic 1.5 turbo.
@@vermontvermont9292 159,000 miles. Still going strong
Yeah, so its been over a month now or something with the oem fluid. Im going back to castrol. I did both filters too. The castrol just felt better. Car felt like it had better get up and go. Its odd how in a cvt fluid brand etc can cause performance issues. I always follow the honda recommended procedure for draining and filling the fluid. Plus ive done it like a million times now 😂. So i know my level is correct every time. It just felt better on castrol. @@Anthony-ox4pt
I did a full change over today on my 19 Civic coupe turbo. The transmission holds a bit over 8 qrts. Today I drained 4 qrts, added a gallon on Castrol transmax universal. Took it for a good 20-30 min drive. Drained again, added another gallon. I may do it one more time just to be sure. Never know how much of the old stuff is still in there. Anyway, on the way home I immediately noticed how smooth it is, car drives and feels so much better. I was hesitant to use non factory fluid, but I'm sure Castrol knows what they're doing. I even emailed them, and they recommend removing as much as the old fluid as possible before using their stuff.
Any updates on how these phantom tires are performing? Any complaints? I might be buying those tomorrow.
