    A very under-rated bike...amazing fuel economy - that 17L tank is good for nearly 300 miles. Whether it needs traction control is debatable and the TFT dash wouldn't tempt me to upgrade from my '22 plate CB500F. Tyres and brakes are excellent - only weak point is a poor quality OEM chain. It's surprisingly punchy and good fun to ride.

    I have the adv350 and have covered 15k miles a lot of motorway and London traffic. I am looking to swap for the Forza 350 now. Although the adv has “better” suspension it is way too hard and really rattles you as you feel every bump. I had the new forza for 5 days and it was much more plush and bearable. I preferred the wind / weather protection on the forza too. Another thing to mention is you have more range for leg positioning on the forza as the 45° footboard is longer and you can get a size 10 boot fully on it flat and stretch the legs further. Both the adv and forza have pluses and negatives but the softer suspension is an overall winner, although the adv handles better the hard ride wears you down.

    • @Geordiebiketester
      @Geordiebiketester Місяць тому

      @@flesz_ as a beginner the 400 is spot on but as your skills grow you will need more grunt. I have sold bikes for over 35 years so I think I have a good insight. The little bikes are great for all the stuff like getting the hang of bikes putting them in the garage squeezing them in the shed. Parking nose down towards the kerb hauling it back up from there. All the bits I call living with a bike but once you master that you move up a bit. The down side to a SV is it’s V twin lump,if your in the wrong guy it will tell you but once it clicks and you keep it in the sweet spot it makes you a better ride. I know this as Rachael had one as her first bike and it taught her lots about correct gears out of corners. Hope this helps.

    Thanks, very interesting reviews. I bought my 350 Forza from Newcastle H this summer, my first scooter in 50 years of riding, and it has been a revelation. Storage room, weather protection, economy, comfort and remarkably good "go" when required - brilliant. If I had to choose again I would buy a Forza/ADV hybrid, as in, Forza screen with ADV running gear, dash and style. Now if you can fix that with big H I will be back to Newcastle for my second scooter!

    These 3 bikes reach a top speed of almost 160 Kmh with a single 256 mm disc with two piston calipers in the front which is nowhere near enough to stop the bike within a safe and reasonable distance. I'd already decided to buy the ADV 350 until I took it for a test ride and at 130 Kmh a car at a distance of about 120 to 150 meters cut into my lane I hit both brakes and the bike took so long to stop that I swore never again. These 3 bikes are dangerous, seriously, I've been riding for over 30 years and I had a horrific accident in 1994 that almost killed me if not for the grace of God. Motorcycles are wonderful but they require an enormous sense of responsibility if you want to avoid very serious consequences.

    I have a Forza 350 (had the 300 before that). It is a brilliant; commuter, tourer, all-rounder. Comfortable, economical, reliable. At one point I was thinking about getting a Honda Forza 750, but after reading the reviews I thought why bother? The 750 is heavy, expensive, chain drive, less storage space. And my 350 will cruise comfortably at 70mph all day. The electric screen is superb in really hot weather. No brainer, I'll stay with my 350!

      I actually got the Forza 750, amazing bike (if you have a topbox), no wind, plenty of power and super stable. And doesn't use much fule. But I have to admit, I've been using my old vision way more, it's much more Nimble and easy to maneuver. Biggest issue with the Forza 750 is that I can't leave it parked anywhere, I always get unwanted visitors. Thinking about getting rid of it and buying a sh 350, but I haven't found the courage to sell the 750 since I love it so much.

    I'm 180cm and for me the screen on the ADV is completely unusable. Highest setting directs the airflow to the top of my helmet (Shoei Neotek 3) and makes that setting completely unusable. The buffeting is horrendous, even with a pair of Alpine Roadracing plugs in the ears... The other settings, except for the lowest, will have the airflow hit me straight in the helmet visor, or just on the lower part of my chin bar, all resulting in discomfort in all speeds exceeding 50km/h. Other than needing a bigger replacement windscreen, it's a great piece of scooter.

    First of all, thank you for this review on the Speed 400. I've been debating between the Speed 400 and rhe Speed Twin 900. I like them both, but I think the 400 wins on looks and for five grand how could I go wrong? My main concern is I usually ride two up with my wife, right now she can't ride due to serious health issues, but if she is ever able to ride again I wonder if the Speed 400 is large enough? I know it has 40 bhp and that's enough for the kind of riding we do. But I wonder if it is physically large enough to carry me at 180 lbs. and her at 130 lbs. We are not large people but I want enough room so both of us will be comfortable. What do you think? Should I buy the 400 because I like the looks better and the price is about half of the 900? Or should I dig a little deeper in my pocker and go for the 900?
