Don't Buy the Cheapest Guitar Amp on Amazon! (2023)
Peavey turned out a lot of junk , check out the festival series pa
I remember some of the PAs being cost effective but maybe not exactly high end systems
Portnoy / Erlandson
My main amp is the 25 Watt Bravo 112 combo. I think it's one of the best Peavey designs.
Never played the Bravo, but it looks like a good amp.
David Blane street magic yall
The magic is real! Rock on!🤘
Excellent overview and thank you for pronouncing "Mesa" correctly. That name gets butchered quite a bit out there, most common being "May-zuh".
I'll probably demo a mini rectifier at some point.
current Bandits suck a@@ compared to the older red and silver stripe versions their tone and response is nothing like whatsoever
Most likely this is the effect of overseas production vs.being made in the 🇺🇸.
Horseshit....I have a red stripe Peavey Bandit that is over 20 years old...and a current model Bandit made in China...if you didn't know which was which....you could never tell the difference in tone between the two.
@@deltawhiskey1398 The Bandit faceoff of the red stripe vs current might be a fun video.
why doesn't Peavey recreate their old heads?
They probably should. An updated version of The Butcher might be fun to play.
It'll be great for business, especially the musician
Can i get some black light posters!
🎸 Black light, this is the way!
Piece of mind is my favorite
It's very good and at 45 minutes not too long to listen to the whole thing.
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son is my favorite....
I really like it too. Beast is such a classic hard to not have it at #1 or #2.
Bruh this kind of heresy towards piece of mind cant be tolerated
Ha! I'm certain you aren't the only one to think this. Putting 7th son that high might be controversial.
Ancient mariner is a good one
Rock on!
Good list but i think final frontier is better than no prayer. I think no prayer is definitely Bruce's worst and might even be worse than x factor
No Prayer wasn't great I can see moving it down.
I love this.
Cool! It was one of my favorite videos to make. It's a topic outside of my normal content, but if anyone is a parent they can relate to it.
@@desertrockunited Just had a third baby three weeks ago. A baby who fights against napping so I related to many points made. Lots of patience required.
Just found your channel, it seems right up my alley. Rock on, my dad was a Peavey rep the first 20 years of my life. He presented the 5150 with James Brown and Hartley to Eddie at his house. You could say i was raised on Peavey.
That must have been fun being around amps all the time as a kid. Cool story!
The only solid state amps ive ever jived with are peavey
I have a solid state Fender, but for features, tones and cost hard to beat Peavey.
@@desertrockunitedThe rivera-era solid state fenders are pretty nice, but the build quality started to take a nosedive with the red knob series...peavey stayed consistently solid for decades
I love Peavey amps hell I got a fender twin reverb but I prefer my peavey vtx classic 212
Cool! What makes the VTX sound better?
I want that exact amp but with the vt squareback speakers...
@@desertrockunited it mainly the speaker but johan segeborn did a comparison on yt
Peavey is a very underrated brand but that does mean you can get for less $$ than the "big boys".
I think almost every beginning guitar player had a Peavey at some point!
Good Day. After i got out of the Air Force, I hooked up with a band in Miami Florida in 1974. I'm a drummer. Our Lead & Rhythm Guitar Players had Peavey amps. Each amp had 4x12" speakers & a Horn. Loud and Incredible Amps. I've never seen them anywhere else and never mentioned on any Peavey History Videos. Thanks & Best Regards
In 1973 they made a 4x12 with CTS speakers, maybe it was that?
@@desertrockunited Somewhere I have a couple of old photos showing the amps at our studio. I'm lookin for them to see if I can verify. Great Amps.
More $$$ than Marshall? I'll check. USA would be nice.
Depends which amp you get, but in general Soldano is at a high price point.
I couldn’t finish the video due to all the upspeak. You know? Where everything is a question? I couldn’t tolerate it? So I stopped watching?
Some viewers don't like this video and others like it. I've never made a video on anything that everyone liked. It's not possible to please everyone.
@@desertrockunited It’s not the video. It’s the audio.
Ok fine. You don't like the audio/voice over. Watch the Orange video or another video maybe you would like one of those and if not that is fine too.
@@desertrockunited I like Soldano amps. Just use my feedback as a way to improve your presentation. We can all improve on everything, including me. I could have said it in a kind way.
@@desertrockunited Damon, my comment got deleted. Why?????
No free amps, you gotta pay to play
Nailed it!
Rock on!🤘
this thing sounds like absolute donkey dookie on any setting. 100% waste of money
The 1 watt amps are very limited from a sonic perspective. 3 watt micro amps at least have a decent sound for the price and size.
In an interesting turn of events, I am running the ultra metal on my current recording session. Never thought this pedal would make its way onto an album and only purchased it for fun but it’s a powerhouse. Makes me want a metal zone for collections sake
It's very unexpected how good it is based on the price. Post a link to the new album!
You know Mike no longer owns Soldano Amplification. You would think that would be important. smh
Right. Sold in 2019 but he still works on new designs. That should be in the video
The Soldano SLO 100 is one of my dream list amps, but I'll never make enough money to own one. Nice to dream though!😊
I'm planning on getting a used SLO at some point. The rock n roll dream can never die!
Make a clone. Worked for me.
Not with that attitude you won't now get it in gear and figure out how you CAN get it. I am saving for the SLO 30 as I am typing this message.
Sure you can. Sell one of your kidneys. I'm sure there's a patient waiting to have his life saved and you get a Soldano!
Oh Yeah!!!! Turn it ☝️☝️☝️
I'm contributing to the system, the breakdown scheme!
Try doing a half-palm mute, you’ll get more distortion and sustain 🤓
I'll try it!
While Floor may be the most versatile, Tarja’s influence cannot be understated and Amy Lee deserves more credit for writing all of her own music and popularizing the genre the most on this list (Bring Me to Life has over 1.2 billion views alone). Also Simone deserves higher as Epica’s discography and her consistency are amazing.
It is more controversial to put Floor ahead of Tarja and I have heard Simone should be in the Top 5. Thanks for your comment 👍

Chuck Berry has left the chat.
Should he be in the Top 5 or 10?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks for watching the video!
Orange fans - please give me your opinion on the BEST VALUE for an all tube Orange head (not combo) in today's market. 5 to 20 watts would be plenty. There are so many models, i get confused. this would be for me son that plays metal.
Orange Rocker 15, Dark Terror, OR 15. If he plays Metal the dark terror might be the way to go. The Rocker 15 is a good two channel amp if clean tones are important. Rock on!
It’s low and then goes even lower
The drop tunings Thayil and Cornell used were the best!
You all never heard Wishbone Ash live
I have not. I'll check them out.
Subbed from your Melvins Queen short. Looking forward to more great content! Thank you.
Thanks! King Buzzo is The Man!
@@desertrockunited Queen is easily my favorite Melvins song, from my favorite album. Just strumming around I found chords that were two songs on Houdini, Lizzy & Set Me Straight. I probably should take the time to learn how to play Queen :)
Stoner Witch is one of their best. Deutrom had a great bass tone and the songs are really good. Houdini is good too.
Great job on the topic! Love Orange amps especially the early 70s models but alas have never owned one. One nit to pick, the Brits say "valve" we say "tube" because after all they are vacuum tubes. Wonder what the Canadians say?
I used the British term for the Brit amp!
Thermionic Valves. You say Tomato, I say Potato.
@@odgeUK Yeah, I get it. I don't say anything when Brits say "valve" but I do chide Americans who do. No different than an American who says he'll take the lift to the 3rd floor or pronounce "algae" with a hard 'g'. It's particularly disturbing if an American wants to drive on the right side of the road here in the US.
Woww
The genius that was Cornell and Thayil!
The orange is junk get the boss mini katana
Maybe I'll do a video on the Boss
All that matters is number one was correct.
Also blake richardson, jose pasillas the 2, shannon lucas and matt griner.
Sounds great! I just got a Brent Hinds Terror and it’s perfect.
What cabinet do you play it through?
@@desertrockunited a Crate 4x12 with Greenbacks
Nice!
This sounds amazing. How do you have your strings tuned?
DADGBe. The Soundgarden riffs are really fun to play!
Also notable is Slim Sowers
