I could hear the integral speakers of my iPhone, but not the R3s. So, using a premium outboard R to R DAC, I listened again via my 2 channel hifi. I could still mot hear those R3s, just my Concept 5000s. As a last resort listened again using my ‘high res’ headphones. Alas, in vane, all I could hear was my headphones. Am I doing something wrong? Is there something I’m missing?
It's comical, isn't it? These clowns spend thousands of dollars on setups and then use them to watch IRON MAN 17. Utter joke. Just shows what snake oil and a farce the whole audio industry is.
This album is real music and has plenty of dynamics. This album has been used at countless dealers, shows to show off systems. It's fine if this music does suit your tate. I would be curious what your tastes are? Perhaps suggest something else? This will be copyright striked by you tube soon and surprised it's still up.
Good sound for recorded speakers. It's mono but that doesn't matter. There's pretty much left from the character of the original recording. Awsome speakers!
iTunes music file is not lossless files. Should have tested with FLAC files or DSD. Did you? R3 is a much more capable speaker than playing through iTunes files.....
Listening to this over my LS 50 Metas plus dual SVS SB 2000s calibrated with DLBC, so a fairly good idea what they sound like. First thing I notice is the complete lack of sibilance. There's none of that "ssshhhh" coloration which is truly refreshing. The Motu M4 is a good choice as well.

What microphone and DAC are you using?
4 ohm線圈能夠做到低頻有限，聲薄速度快，長衝程都冇乜用，加多隻低音單元已經唔敢叫佢同軸喇叭，相信一樣係4 ohm線圈設計，加分音器來重播長衝程單元，低頻都係快速冇力為主，大音壓下會覺得非常之吵耳，片段「砰砰」聲播緊唔係好低嘅低頻，中音至中低根本冇厚度，係你冇低頻融洽出較厚聲音，唔係同軸應該要用粗線圈設計，以自身播放低頻，再加上低音反射式，一定要雙線分音，能夠分開推動及調整各單元電平，調教出個人風格。

Kef R3 vs Genelec 8030c I’m thinking of nearfield use. What do you recommend?
The R3 are about 4x the size of the 8030c lol. The R3 are not meant for nearfield even if they're fantastic speakers on their own

my wharfedale 12.2 is way way better than this. deep bass sweet mids and controlled highs for only 420usd a pair

Nice speakers too close together and too close to the wall. Put them in a bigger space and drive with a better amp. Live a little.

I have 2 of these on left and right in my dolbyatmos set at my home complete set is 11 andv1 sub thats svs 11 others are all kef.
Do you ever find it being sharp in the midrange with snare hits and hi hats and sometimes vocals?
You need more punch. Get something around 80 watts with good power supply.
