The Time When Rome Turned Its Gallic Enemies Into Citizens
Cisalpine Gaul is one of the first barbarian regions to be granted Roman citizenship. Contrary to its Greek neighbours, the Romans were keen to grant citizenship to its former enemies (though on a differ degree of privilege up until the time of Edict of Caracalla), this video is about the story of Cisalpine Gaul getting the citizenship and we explore the roles open citizenship played in making Roman constitution one of the strongest and most enduring.
