The most under appreciated game ever! MAX PAYNE 3
In this video we take a look at Rockstar's take on Max Payne, a gem of a game that just didn't get the traction that it deserved.I also confess that I am a Sinner.. guilty of passing judgment without even giving a fair chance to the accused(Max Payne). When the game first launched, I fell for the looks of the game or shall I say the way Max looked. Fat, bald and old.. This didn't go down well with me... Leading to the sheer neglect that followed for the next year for this game... So when (I guess i had nothing else to try afterwards) I finally gave the game a chance... I was pleasantly surprised and found out the hard way that appearances can be deceiving... Game is a brilliant swan song to the gaming's unluckiest anti hero.. From story writing to graphics game has been crafted with love and care and its a must play if you're a fan of the series...

    I never looked into Max Payne 3's story too much, Dan Houser is great at writing charismatic characters but his writing tends to fall apart in other areas, such as the nuances of the writing, if this theory is true it'd add some much needed nuance to Max Payne 3

    • @Lokeygamer101
      @Lokeygamer101 13 днів тому

      hese are just my theories stemmed from maxs monologue ofcourse.... Think about it in the first game Max's wife and daughter gets killed... Then max kills Nikole for playing a part in his family's death... Then in the next game... Opening of sorts... Max watches a girl die in front of him (unable to save her) ... winterson Max's corrupt partner... Max ends up killing her while trying to save Mona... Then at the end of the 2 nd game Mona ends up dying in Max's arms.. In mp-3 .. max fails to save Fabiana.. the girl he was protecting... Then there's a secretary that greets max during his visit to Rodrigo's office.. someone shoots her later in that mission... It was only when max manages to save Giovanna ( fabiana's sister) that Max's luck turns around (or the so called curse of women dying around him ends).. otherwise in the previous games we always got dark/ sad endings...while this time around there was a closure and a happy ending...😁

    • @Lokeygamer101
      @Lokeygamer101 13 днів тому

      As for the alternate selves of Max..yeah these are (unofficial claims obviously)... First one brewer .. max is sympathetic towards him as he himself somewhat understands his pain... And further hints that if he had an option he'd take the same route too.So that's why i feel like brewer is continuation of Max's journey from the second game.. Had nothing changed, Max would have eneded up like him..Them with the anders ( happy cop) max is jealous... Cause he has everything that max wanted.. a happy life.. a wife, daughter and a son (who plays football)... Moreover he's retired and travelling the world ... So , I guess dan Houser in a tribute to our beloved hero added these alternate versions of max ...as a fan service of sorts.

    the horriblest Aspect is that all the old games are lost for playing online with the whole wide World. Games that should be in a museum, as an art retrospektive contemplation the Games should be hold on to play for the posterity but instead of that, the industrie is killing the history of Multiplayer Games. Its like burning Oldtimer Cars, wooden Bicycle or the warping wings from Brother Wright.

    No modern game can recapture the impact that Call of Duty had in its early days, and that’s largely due to changes in internet and media landscapes. Back then, narratives in games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which loosely echoed the Iraq War, could be presented with minimal public scrutiny. The story aligned with a simplified perspective: the U.S. intervened because of alleged weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Today, that storyline wouldn’t hold up as easily. Access to diverse media sources and global perspectives means fewer people accept such narratives without question. Even the CIA later disclosed that no such weapons were found, confirming it was largely a constructed narrative to justify military action. This transparency has altered the way these stories can be told, limiting the impact of a single-sided portrayal.

    • @TCODESERTSTORM
      @TCODESERTSTORM Місяць тому

      The narrative presented in *Modern Warfare* resonated so strongly partly because it tapped into a powerful wave of Western propaganda that framed the "war on terror" as a straightforward battle of “good versus evil.” This portrayal was bolstered by a media landscape that, for years, leaned into a manichean perspective largely embraced across Western societies. This simplification of complex geopolitical realities made the game’s storyline not only believable but also widely accepted, as it echoed the rhetoric many media outlets were promoting at the time. The impact of this messaging on public perception helped normalize these narratives, which were less likely to be questioned. In today’s more informed and interconnected world, such portrayals would face immediate scrutiny, with audiences more aware of the intricacies and alternative perspectives surrounding such conflicts.

      Well I am glad it was made in those times... Moreover strictly IMO, Video Games are a source of entertainment and there is no need for these to be politically correct.. • @TCODESERTSTORM
      @TCODESERTSTORM Місяць тому

      @@Moneymatter247-jq9ni There’s no such thing as an ideologically 'neutral' or 'apolitical' narrative in games. Every game, whether it aims to be historically accurate, purely for fun, or something else, inherently reflects a particular perspective. Even if developers don’t intend to push an agenda, their work is shaped by the ideological environment they’re in. Take Call of Duty, for example. These games often align with pro-military narratives not by coincidence but because the developers, like Infinity Ward, have historically had significant backing from U.S. military propaganda efforts. This means Call of Duty has always been political, representing and reinforcing specific ideologies from the start. This isn’t just opinion-it’s a fact supported by history. On top of that, games today are often a continuation of that money-driven approach, but with new layers thanks to the internet. With microtransactions and digital-only releases, developers have more ways than ever to generate profit, and it’s easier for people to buy into it. Ironically, even though games today are technologically more advanced and costlier to make, they’re also much pricier than physical media games were years ago. Yet, back then, even with production costs for physical copies, games were often cheaper. This shift raises questions about the motivations behind game design and distribution now versus then

      @@TCODESERTSTORM almost everybody is influenced or has some sort of ideology fed into them( socialization, the way humans pass on information, values,mores to their next generation) and moreover who cares if infinity ward was pushing a particular agenda.. point is this is the game that will go down in history as one of the best games around ( narratively for cods) and yes the impact game had due to internet slowly becoming accessible to all , would be hard to replicate... But at least for now gamers have been rejecting woke propaganda that has sadly crept into some games..

      It's a very good game (imo). my problem with the game is ubisoft.. and their in general treatment of the port on pc. Older version could have been fixed with a few patches but then ubisoft would not have gotten the opportunity to spy on us via their always online drm ( for a single player game) and on top of that they purposefully chose to ignore pc gamers again.. as if they are handing the game on pc for free..... So that's why I wanted people to wait for sale. 😅

    The reason why Silent Hill 2 it became a classic is because eventually people began to see how unique, eerie, melancholic and authentic the game's atmosphere it really is, and took the time to enjoy its deeply thoughtful narrative and symbolism. To this day it’s by far one of, if not the most mature examination of grief, sexual trauma, suicide, and morality all combined. It’s an intelligent game that does not hold anyone’s hand and comes at the player with utmost confidence in itself. It’s fantastic stuff. The rest of the original 4 are great in their own right and have their own well written stories, but they don’t hold the same emotional weight to them. I think SH2’s maturity by comparison is something that a lot of people are drawn to. ☯️

    With this Remake the overall tone concerns me the most. The dialog & voice acting seems off. The attitudes & vibes of each character & their personalities aren't right. It sounds like they don't understand the characters or how to achieve the correct tone through out the game. I hope it will be good. I'm just worried this game will treat us like children tho. With hand holdy gameplay. Button prompts, Toned down storytelling, you name it. Hopefully they don't go that direction where they don't want to make people uncomfortable because this game is meant to make people uncomfortable. If they aren't okay with creating a uncomfortable inappropriate game then they really picked the wrong team to make a game such as this. The movement seems really stiff, it's like the character isn't interacting with their environment. The weight and movements with certain objects seems off. I'm okay with them making some changes. There are ways many things can be changed and still hold the same core of this game. I hope they find ways to achieve that. (it is annoying how divided and out of control a lot of people are getting. I wish things weren't so weirdly divided. Then some counter the critical people with a sorta Toxic Positivity. I wish valid criticism could be heard and addressed. It will be nice if things can chill out and we can get back to being able to critique things in a healthy way again lol)

      @@Lokeygamer101 Well if I were you, I wouldn't get my hopes up. If they wanted to, they could have just remastered the earlier version of the game. From what I can see (from the video) the game still looks good even after all this time. So think about it: If fan mods can keep this game alive on PC, Konami could also do it. yet they selectively ignored it as there was no money to be had there. As far as the new remaster is going, It seems to be a completely different game but since Konami has the IP and SH-2 already has a cult fan following, they chose to go for the easy money. So, if we are to take a page out of Konami's history, I'd say we stand to get a wolf in sheep's clothing.

    It is very important to put yourself in the mindset of a gamer in 2001, someone who likely played SH1. SH2 is first and foremost a sequel to SH1 as a concept, gamers went into SH2 thinking it was going to be a standard sequel. And imagine how you would feel when something you thought was going to be standard turned out to be something wholly unique and exceptional. Something that took the concepts from SH1 and turned them on their head, taking the ideas found in SH1 to shocking new and interesting places.

      Yeah! you are right.. back then(in 2001) ... this was a complete overhaul of sorts, graphics, sound design .. The game makers kept the original core gameplay and the rest of the game had completely been changed. The story of the first game (at least to me) seems like a hollywood movie(low budget) but for SH-2 they amped it up. We know from the start that Mary is dead, yet we are drawn into this beautifully crafted game world!! It speaks volumes of the creative mindset of the developing team. Back then games were not treated as yearly products and developers genuinely went in to create something fresh and authentic.. Cancel Reply

      A small percentage of people played SH1 first. It was on a different console, the PS2 was sold in part as a DVD player and had a giant market, the games looked totally different (FFIII vs FFX) and SH1 was never that well known until after it became a franchise and people went back to play it.
