October 17th 2024 Twitter changes tos, everyone is pissed, we all jump to Bluesky, and here i am watching the userbase skyrocket whilst listening to this
Here’s a fun fact I will now throw in your faces: at 4:54 it’s actually (presumed to be) Richard Tandy, the keyboardist, saying “please turn me over” because you had to turn the vinyl version of this album over to hear the ending side.
I love this song. The first time I properly listened to this song was at the end of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and I love it. Aged incredibly well for a song made in 1977.
Liked it as soon as i heard it in early 1978. Should have got to number one and stayed there for ten weeks, but unfortunately, such as Abba, Kate Bush and Brian & Michael kept it out.
The really fun bit I like which about a year ago I found out a new thing I like is the “please turn me over” at the end of the song sung through the vocoder which is also the last track at the end of side three on the album for the vinyl record version.
Ever since I used a snippet of this song in a UA-cam video this song gives me a hankering to head over to Santorini, Greece and look out over the Mediterranean.
I blame this song for every time I've been unable to sleep in the afternoon (thanks to light violating my brain's melatonin release mechanism through the window). Curtains don't do shit. GET OUT OF MY LIFE, MR. BLUE SKY.
Some people think that children won't listen to old songs like this from the 70's or 80's but I listen to songs from 70's and the 80's even though I'm a child.
I listen to songs as early as the 1930's as well as modern songs. I like old music, the calmer beat is a nice break from the upbeat, bouncy songs of modern hit songs. Nonetheless, modern music is still good.

I don't really understand the implication that a song from the 70s shouldn't be expected to "age well."
Tom Misch - Insecure
I´´m still in love with this song....
what makes this song perfect is the metal pipe sound and was put in a marvel movie and the music is a classic and the singer is perfect in everyway
Concerto for a rainy day, genius!
I like this song has no symbolism besides joking about British Weather.
R.I.P Richard Tandy😢
Thank you Richard Tandy. Goodnight。x
.............please turn me ooooooverrrrrr❤
Остановись, мгновение, ты прекрасно! Спасибо, Том!❤

I also love how soft and calm that last vocal vocoded bit sounds. Heavenly and peaceful.

@@pt_cruiser5131 You'd like Vintage Radio (channel) here on UA-cam. 🎶🎷
@@pt_cruiser5131 plus you get the occasional banger like this one.
