Javelina in the Catalina Foothills
Taken while I was on the phone. Heard something out back and got my iPad 2 in one hand and a flashlight in the other.
NOTE: Some have asked if I was charged. The answer is NO. I just pulled my ipad2 back and it hit the fence, though may have seemed like it.
However, with that said, these are wild animals. They have big teeth and can bite. Rabies were reported last year not far from here. I have heard stories from people that have had their dogs attacked, and these can do serious damage. And, can even kill a dog.
I have had them walk by me, not far away many times. Usually, they want nothing to do with you, and are not aggressive (unless they feel threatened). Don't feed them. And be careful, especially when they have babies with them. They are notorious for knocking over garbage cans, which you can see in our flickr pics. Best advice there is...don't bring your trash can out until morning of pickup.
In conclusion, it is exciting to see wild animals, and while these look innocent, they can be very dangerous. So enjoy seeing them, but be careful, and never forget that this is a wild animal that will protect its young and others in its herd.

What started as a normal Saturday morning trip to the bank at Ina and Oracle in Tucson (same shopping center as the Safeway where the shooting took place) resulted in something we never could have imagined. These are photos that we took of what we saw on that morning and during the days that followed. The man on the bike at the end of the video stated that he was the Frozen Foods Manager from t...

These are some of our photos from a visit to Arivaca, Arizona. Arivaca is a small town approximately 55 miles from Tucson, and only 11 miles from the US-Mexico border. Mining and ranching are a part of Arivaca's history. Today, in Arivaca, you will find diverse vocations in a population of nearly 1000. While there are still ranchers, you will also find artists, pottery makers, craftsmen, builde...

Such perfect colors ❤
Nice!!!❤
Lived there in 1965 for a year or two. Loved it there.
Nice photos 🦋
Names would be nice for the novice
With the weather being much milder than the rest of hellishly hot Arid -zona, I don't understand how commenters here can make Douglas sound so bad!?
We are proud to call Payson our home and feel truly blessed to be here.
From Willcox. And I can say I enjoy living here. ✌🏼😎🏜🚴🏼♂️💨💨
Would like to hunt near there but have been warned it's overwhelmed with illegals. Hunters tell stories of trucks broken into and everything that can be carried gone. Any hunters with info out there?
It is southern Arizona ranchland close to Mexico. The Buenos Aires wildlife refugee is close there and it is a very nice and safe place to visit. It feels like home.
Every time I go to Douglas I see so much potential. I really want to move there. Bisbee is to expensive.
Nice and Creative Videos, This is really my favorite channle.:). I really glad to see your post and your world was so brilliant. 🌴🌴🌴 excellent and Much appreciated!!🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 🌴🌴🌴 from: Willcox City Cochise

This makes it look like a town. The camera man never left his park bench.
FYI not all Mexican are bad. Oh one more thing someone Trusting one too many times white people one US military did not come out well in all August 2015Tucson Arizona after many years 14294W Kerstel road Tucson Arizona of Sierra mountain road Tucson Arizona. Ones army wife and marine corps mom did come out worse this trusted white people what on the other hand called them self native American. Casinos owners and who else All if them ex US military some ways or the other. Kind people always end up surt stick around Arizona. Some that truthfully trying too do the right thing and respect human beings. So too end up not so well. When others who is white but not white otherwise. Do what the want getting away with it all.
Apparently surviving includes graphitti on the walls, At least take care of your hotel room
Las ciudades mucho estrés ruido prefiero pueblos chicos hermoso Arizona😍😘😁😀
What a lovely collection of bird photographs, and the music was wonderful! I've saved this to my large Arizona playlist, to the Tucson/Catalina Mountains section, and also to a much smaller playlist, Gentility in Scene and Sound (Nature). Thank you for posting it!
Thank you for sharing. :D
Childhood home
Very nice. Saved to my Arizona playlist, to the Tucson/Catalina Mtn. section. Thank you.
Dont trust anyone in this town .. they dont know how to keep their mouth shut.. privacy is almost non existent
People here have a hard time minding their own business

So good to see this. My dad grew up in Douglas before WWll and went to Douglas High School. If anyone remembers the Stephenson family (Bill, Elizabeth, Jane, Joanna, Martha, Walter, Roger. Clytie and Bruce Stephenson were their parents) I'd love to hear from you. We were related to the Leakes out on King's Highway, too. My dad (Walter Stephenson) loved Douglas very much though times were hard during the depression. He was very sentimental about Douglas.
An historic western town, slow-paced and quiet, peaceful, well-behaved and courteous, has vineyards, orchards and farming, is close to the old village named for Cochise, Cochise Stronghold, the Graham Mountains, the Chiricahua Mountains and the beautiful Dragoon Mountains, the famed Dos Cabezas Peaks (featured in Rex Allen Jr.'s well-known song " I Love You, Arizona"). Rex Allen grew up in Cochise County, not far from Willcox, likely graduating from high school there. Wikipedia describes Rex Allen > Quote > " Rex Elvie Allen was an American film and television actor, singer and songwriter, known as "the Arizona Cowboy" and as the narrator of many Disney nature and Western productions." ~ This is a nice video, one I'm including in my Arizona playlist.
There's another important facts about Douglas the gas smuggling situation is horrible you go to any gas station especially the gas station on 80 everyday every time of the day morning, noon and night the smugglers are out hold up the pumps at the gas stations .🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 I really Hate Douglas Arizona.
Watch "Douglas, AZ from the Sky in 2019" on UA-cam ua-cam.com/video/GOO4gPNaB00/v-deo.html
Douglas looks nothing like that video they did really good editing to that video Douglas there are no jobs the roads are horrible schools are even worse that's some okay people but for the most part if you're not Mexican they don't like you I would advise any and everyone not from Douglas do not visit Douglas don't waste of time and Douglas there's nothing to do in Douglas they don't even have a movie theater in Douglas everything closed down around 5 p.m. stay away from Douglas..... I'm all in Douglas because I was transferred here and I can't wait to be transfer it out and if I don't get transferred out soon I will quit my job that's so much I hate Douglas
There's no glamorizing that boring, stagnant, cultureless, ash tray of a town.
They forgot to pass by my house 😢
Good hunting there
Seen you on Bow Deciples. Tell me about hunting there.
A paradise for bird lover. Could anyone (Audubon) please show me where and when I would have the good chances to see & photograph the birds in Catalina. Hung Hoang of California - a retired visual artist & educator
Sabino Canyon in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains, at Tucson, is a great place to start bird-watching. Sabino Canyon Recreational Area has a wonderful abundance of birds. I'd suggest bird-watching there from late October through early May, when the weather is more tolerable for human and bird alike.
look. Florence is a great old county town to raise your kids. I grew up here, my grandfather was the local pharmacist for 68 years and sold it in 1991. It's not a ghetto. Come spend the day here before you judge it.
Arizona has a summer thunderstorm season but NOT a monsoon.
