    If the capacitor is blown, the fan would not be operating. Also, before dealing with a capacitor, turn the systems' power off first.

    • @daddydaveshowshow7945
      @daddydaveshowshow7945 5 місяців тому

      @darrick1426 yea well if you have a dual capacitor, the fan can definitely still be working just like you saw mine working in the video lol . And of course you turn the power off, you pull the fuse outside , but capacitors still can hold a charge after being shut off.

      @@GameHEADtime An AC capacitor provides the initial jolt of electricity your air conditioner's motor needs to start spinning. If the fan is not spinning or spinning slow, then it’s most likely the cap.

    Best way to check the capacitor is to make sure all prongs are leveled on your hand .. if they feel straight it’s still good .

      $15 dollar part is about as cheap and easy as it gets for people that can't afford a professional. After changing the inside filter , and cleaning off the coils outside , the next cheapest option when I didn't hear the buzzing of a compressor turn on or the click, was the capacitor. Very simple and cheap next step.

      Was a bad capacitor. It's a dual capacitor, starts the fan and the compressor . Fan was fine and working properly, compressor was not turning on . Do I know every bit of the mechanical process behind ac no, I'm not a heating and cooling person lol. But changing my capacitor out for a new one fixed this problem. Working perfectly now.

    Freon systems do not push cold inside in fact your system moves hot liquid inside and the evaporation of this liquid pulls the heat out of the air inside and moves it as a cold gas back outside.

      I agree that someone who probably doesn't use hand tools such as drills on a daily basis would get intimidated by when it said to drill a 3/8th hole 1/2 inch away. I do projects like this at home all the time and the directions, even for me, were fairly confusing. Thank God UA-cam has the answer to most life problems including mounting car seats ❤
