Awesome idea but that SDS Max doesn't have reverse, does it? Looks beautiful out there.
Will to welding last? No so sure. Also, the rotary hammer's torque kicks really hard and you need to take the auger bit out of the hole in order not to spin it out of control. Unless the rotary has a torque control function that's a nice way to injure the wrist...
Very very very very important video for those who want to make fancing thank you very very much
Nice work mate 👌🇦🇺
Sounds good!
Thanks , do you sale a device that can serve as a lid.....? Or do you have recommendations for the repair for the metal door connected to the hinge. I really appreciate this post
Terrible video
I'm concerned about the concrete touching the cut edge of the panels. Galvalume should not touch concrete plus water and dirt will corrode the bottom unless a gap was created. Is there the potential of volcanic airborne ash in your area? That can also be very corrosive to metal.
Whirlpool pool design is poor with preload condition. I bought the washer because I had the old whirlpool metal door washers which worked awesome for more the 10 years. Shame on whirlpool engineers for cutting corners and producing garbage to the consumer 👎🏻
How would you rate this hammer?
Excellent video
This can be fixed better than the original bad design for a lot less money as follows: Remove the lid. Please upside down on a soft towel to protect the paint. Carefully use a razor knife to separate the glass from the cheezie 3m double sided tape they use (this will take some time to prevent more damage or stabbing yourself with the knife). Once the glass is removed, remove all the old glue and sticky strips and you will have access to removing the cap at the top side of the glass. The cap is only held on by plastic snap clips and could break so take you time, it will come apart. On the left and right side are 2 - 2" bars which are the hinge support and the cause of the problem of the design. Go to your local hardware store and get some flat bar approximately the same dimensions except you need them 12" long. The 2 holes in the original bar are not threaded so this makes things easier on your new one. You will have to notch a few plastic ribs to make your new bar will fit. Re-drill the holes in the new bar using the old one as a template. Wipe all surfaces with acetone where the glass sits to ensure the new glue will hold. Be careful not to get the acetone on painted surfaces as it will damage the paint. Repair all cracks or broken pieces with JB weld for plastic and lightly clamp till fully cured (follow JB instructions). Place the new rods in the slots you made and install the hinge arms to ensure everything will fit and is aligned. You can use the JB weld to secure the new rods in place as well. Once dry, remove the clamps and hinges. For the glass installation you can use Urethane in a tube. (same stuff used for car windshields and extremely strong). When applying the Urethane, do not over do it as it can be messy and does not come off clothes. Put on enough Urethane that the glass will get a good seal but not seep out. Clean up any excess. Lightly clamp and wait to dry (Follow Urethane instructions). Reassemble the lid on the washer in reverse of how you took it off (4 screws so don't loose them). Your all done and have a lid done the way it should have been designed in the first place!!!! :) What did we accomplish? Well as the video says, this is a bad design and they did not take mechanical advantage into consideration as if they cared any way. We have now moved the focal point from the first 3 inches from the edge of the lid with heavy stress to the center of the lid thus spreading the spring load over more of an area and eliminating the stress area. You also get to keep the proper use of the springs and not wack yourself in the melon when doing laundry. I am not an engineer but I am a 40 year veteran mechanic of old school mind set. Always remember if man made it, man can fix it and some of the best ideas come after a few beer, and yes I did mine exactly as I explained PS: These lids are no longer available and if you you do find one, it is still defective till you do a proper fix. Hope this help someone 😎
Yes a video helps more😊
How sick can people be to do this? All people will get it in their bodies and so will the animals.
See? STOP FEELING GUILTY! Almost 100% of ocean and planet pollution comes from poor countries. There 100s of thousands of rivers. But only 1,000 cause 90% of ocean pollution... and guess where those 1,000 rivers are? Yes, poor countries. If we really want to end pollution, go to poor countries and start a waste management system that works.
So in Southamerica they don't have water in bottles? Instead bottles in water?
Tku
How do you fill it?
Yeah I put some motor oil in there just old burnt motor oil and get my tire doctor about 3/4 cups in there and they say they keep it from rusting
Smart shelving connections 👍🏻
I'm looking to do something similar.
Nice job.
The latest estimates from scientists are 100-1000x lower than the old number quoted here.
The first and the last clip are the werry same. Literarly. the last one is just blurrier.
They are
Very helpful. Thank you.
Good video thank you. I made one of these years ago. This is a little bit more fancy.
Awesome design. I am going to make one of those.
Fence corner posts should follow certain geometries and this one is not correct.
THE OTHER SPOUT IS EZ TO FIX
Hands down the best video on how to do this on UA-cam. Well done and thank you!
Hi Steve, We would fill the tires up to a certain level by rotating the tire until the valve was about the 10 o'clock or 2 o'clock position to get @ 2/3 water to air ratio. This seemed to work best for our clients. Your video is great, quick and easy explanation. I'll be doing a waterfill on a Kubota tractor rear tire tomorrow on the Hamakua Coast and wanted a video for my client to watch, and yours is it! Aloha
What kind of adhesive did you use to glue the lid back together before you put it back on? And what kind of grinder tool did you use, dremel tools or something else?
I love the bar instead of the hinge
No we can't see, looking at woods doesn't exactly scream Hawaii buddy lol 🤦🏻♂️
Antifreeze also prevents the rims from rusting.
What glue did you use? My glass has completely separated from the plastic. For right now my plastic isn't broken but the hinge is definitely the problem.
I took the hinges and the strip that goes between them right off. It sux but for a year now I’ve been just taking the glass right off and loading the machine then placing the glass back on top. Then when it starts I move the lis around ever so slightly so the door lock mechanism recognizes it as closed it’s a bit of a pain but it works. If anyone knows where to find a new glass top that would be awesome
Thanks Steve I watched your video and it worked great. I put the hinge pins in a small vice and used a dremel with a die grinder/ cut off wheel to make nice round pins. Measured the thin part of the pin and reduced the thick part to that dimension. Whirlpools response was that they have occasional failures. Just like cars these days, to much plastic where it doesn't belong.
I've heard good feedback about the Woodglut plans.
Same issue with maytag 6 years later. Annoying as hell. Going to weld up my own metal lid. Why have a plastic lid anyway....They're probably making a killing on replacement lids and so not fixing them.
what a piece of shit
Thanks, I'll never buy another whirlpool anything after living with my flawed Cabrio
Thanks. The XL binder clip band aid fix looks like it will help this piece of junk limp on a while longer. Too bad you have to buy, like a 30 pack, of clips when you need 2
Yes, same issue here. Already had the control panel replaced for $250. And this is only after 3 years. It really is a piece of garbage. Will never by Whirlpool again. Pass along to others not to buy Whirlpool.
Very Nice. Good job with flushing the nuts and washers. Excellent.
Any lawsuits out there on this? My lid is getting to the unusable stage and now has to be replaced.
Heat the the clear plastic tube in boiling water st soften tube makes it easier to install
Any link for the drill guide and the small wire tool? Thanks for the vid. Helpful, Cheers!
I harvest nuts on about 12% grade. Does water help with picking downhill
What kind of glue did you use ?
Rounding the hinge does work, just did it, the lid opens and closes freely! Thanks!
did you have to do both hinges or just the right one
