I'm Jess, and I like to make things! Most days you can find me knitting, or crocheting, (but mostly knitting) while listening to an audio book. Lots of things are of interest, so come along with me on a making adventure. #seejessmake

Knitting Harry Potter: Weasley sweater in 24 hours
thanks for this video, you made me laugh a few times :)
I vote for the porcelain sweater. It looks so comfy!
I've made that blanket. I love that pattern.
Ohhh i have been seeing Christmas blankets on here. I got white red and green in lion brand one pound to make a Christmas blanket.. i think i am going to do the plaid pattern. I love yours.
I vote for the porcelain sweater! It's gorgeous and at least in this video it seems like the one you are the most excited about knitting :)
To frog or not to...No, forget it. If I don't frog it, it's going to be on the forefront of my mind even when I sleep.
I like all three. Alaska sweater might help you cross off something 'Alaska' on your check list :) Porcelain sweater would be my next choice. If you can kindly share what audio book you are planning to start along with your next cast on would be great.
I'm currently listening to the Andy Serkis narration of LOTR. I'm in the middle of Fellowship. I'm waiting on a couple Ruth Ware books from the library.
Nah at that point, I leave it😅
OMG THIS IS SO CUTEEE what are you making? I also crochet i taught myself to crochet like 2 years back 😊
@@Sweetpeareads thanks! Christmas blanket from Yarnspirations: crochet Christmas at Granny's
Been there done that too!!!
yes the music is very distracting 🤪🤪
Literally my spirit during Christmas time regularly after Halloween starts celebrating Christmas
I am also team "do the sleeves/collar early". Breaks up the body and gives motivation to actually get the body done when i have what looks like an actual sweater, just very cropped, already!
@@abbey7220 I'm doing it this way from now on with every sweater! Felt like I made it faster doing it this way.
Your Salty Days is beautiful! I made one in dark blue. 💙
Dark blue sounds gorgeous!!
How about moving the desk forward and out a bit to have the shelves with easy access to the desk and the gap between the desk and wall could be for the swift, or the lamp stand?
Never thought of that!
I really want to watch this, and keep trying. I turn it off every time because of the music. Sorry!
Thanks for the input!
Your blanket is stunning! I absolutely love the color palette you chose!
Thank you!
I live in New Zealand so we are coming into Spring at the moment. Currently knitting the Professor Meow tops for my two girls in Uni. Only modification is they want long sleeves. Awesome to see your ambitions for fall knits. I will enjoy watching your progress.
Gee I didn't realize you have made so many sweaters! You have become a real professional knitter Jess!
Me everyday! The struggle is REAL 😂
You have a new subscriber here! I love your style! I'm working on my Salty Days Sweater as we speak. It's a fun knit and goes really fast.
You aren't going to let us vote for what project you should finish before working on Salty.
I have a few that have deadlines, so it will be those ones.
This is going to be my second year going to Rhinebeck. I didn’t think about making a sweater for it. 2 and 3 I really like.
4 I like the open work in it.
Que interesante, observar lo que yo hago. ❤
Everytime I see the Seaglass I want to scream "Don't DO IT!" I loved the look but OMG I hated every single second of knitting it and then frogged it after I was 3/4 of the way through the body. And I don't regret frogging it.
Oh really? What did you hate about it?
@@seejessmake the constant changing colors, the "magic knot" or weaving in 50,000 ends, no other choice. The thought of doing that on 2 sleeves after getting 3/4 of the way though the body brought me no joy. So I Marie Kondo'd it.
@@seejessmake I am a very experienced knitter too. I love intricate beaded lace and colorwork and can knit a sweater in a month usually. But this broke me. LOL
@@sykocreations How interesting! I also love doing lace.
This feedback is good to hear. I think I will stick with the Sea glass hat. 😊
#1 &/or #3 (love cables myself!)
Addendum… I’d use the blue tweed as the mc on #1 with the orange tweed for the polka dots
You are funny & cute. Maybe leave your pictures up longer to get a better look at designs. Thanks God bless.
I'll do that next time. :)
I like #2
❤😊
I really liked the Wind River and the number 4
Number 1 or 4!
I live in South Florida. We don't do Fall or Winter. But I am just learning how to knit and I found this shirt pattern with some cute open work on the yoke. It was labeled easy so we will see. But I also crochet and I am finishing up a half circle shawl using Hobbii Twister Yarn in the color Tango. I am learning to sew clothes and I am working on a 1932 dress from a reproduction pattern from Lady Marlowe. I quilt too. I have these 50 States fabric pieces so I am going to applique them onto larger squares and make a 50 States quilt. So those are my plans for the rest of the year. 😅
lol me too
Hi, for the sea glass cardigan you do not need the MC to be 1 colour. Lots of knitters have switched out both MC and CC on every round. When you buy the pattern they show an example for both combinations. It really is a stash buster
I’m still pretty new to knitting. Well, I started back last winter after about 30 years and I didn’t know how to read patterns. I’m planning on knitting my first Ranuculus and from Expression Fiber Arts the Kaleidoscope sweater.
That sweater is also on my list.....my list is getting too long.
The ranunculus is a fantastic knit, tutorials on line are great, I made four last year, and will no doubt make more. Enjoy x
I just finished my Sweetgum cardigan a couple of hours ago. Okay, I still have to weave in the ends and block it. I absolutely love it.
I'm excited to get started on mine.
ILoved your video! I am hoping to get through more of my wips and have a good number of sweaters and cardigans to have on hand. I want to make a Coloring Book Raglan so much and will probably cast it on so soon!
It would be nice if you left both the pattern pics and the yarn up longer so we could have time to get a good look.
I'll do that next time!
Such ambitious knitting plans!! but also... same. I have, i think, 4 sweaters that I want to knit for the fall and I am plus size so they take forever.
We can do it!! I believe in us.
Are you doing on the beat?
@@christinajohnston2104 yes I am

Can we see all the things youve made with knitting
@@Zedd3R-LS I have a video on everything I made in 2023
👍
Lol You need to get it do very soon😂😊
What’s even worse is when someone offers you $20 to make an afghan for them. They don’t seem to realize that $20 doesn’t even cover the cost of the yarn. I made two tablecloths with #10 crochet thread. Each flower motif takes 30 minutes. There are hundreds of motifs in each tablecloth. I would have to charge over $1,000 to pay for my time. Nobody, I mean nobody, in my area is going to pay me that. So I keep certain things for myself, and I will hand them down to my children and grandchildren.
Yarn also has increased in price so much. Makes it so hard to afford to enjoy my favorite hobby.
This is so real 😭 I’ve been making a blanket for the past 8 months, each square takes 30 minutes at the LEAST, I have 160, and I’m not even done 💀
So true
Beautiful!!
Spindle And distaff
Sure! Cause you'll be able to make clothes without electricity or fabric! As long as you can still get yarn...😁
@@yvettescheiman4991 Well...I do have a spinning wheel....😏
Most knitters have a pretty good sized yarn stash to work from. 😆 Most of us could knit for quite a while on that alone. 🧶
