I’ve been a fan of Gentleman Jim since first hearing him in 1962 when I was 12 years old, he’s still my all time favourite singer and I listen to him all the time, especially when I feel like relaxing. I am from sierra leone resident in the Gambia,.west Africa.I was born in 79 and I started listening to Jim reeves and The everlys (Phil and don, buddy Holly ,Brian Hyland,the carpenters,ray Charles,Tom t hall, Merle,Hank snow,Hank Williams , Armstrong and d list goes on ,when I was 9yrs ..I grew up on country , rock-'n'-roll,blues jazz , and polka ..

He was great ,the guy with d velevet voice..sadly he didn't live long enough but his songs still resonate around the world 🌎...

I do like the sentiment within the song John. If you sit and ponder upon such things you can find yourself easily re living those times in your life that will stay with you till the day you die. The passing of a loved one or the wondering whatever became of your first love and of how life has treated them yet knowing full well that you will never know despite the passing of time they will sometimes pop into your head when you least expect it. No doubt about it, it is quite a thought provoking and reflective song. If I remember correctly, the late Jim Reeves said that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, and the shortest distance between two hearts is a song.......he was right. Stay safe you guys .
