Make sure it's the version 2. They have a difference frame and the servo is axel mounted. V2 is a very nice upgrade to V1

I like them too. But the sidewall flex is an issue. I am thinking about designing an insert for them.

I got mine with the MN91K (kit). I looked on AliExpress, the only ones I could find came with a replacement body. That could be an option, or you could use Temiya clear paint amzn.to/4j1esV0. Remove the lenses then paint them.

Those are 40mm big bore shocks. I got the incorrect ones. Don't worry,I have the correct ones coming.

The ROG14 is a very different class than the SCX24. They are both fun in different ways. I like the basecamp, but in reality unless you want the body style of the Base Camp the $125.00 versions are a better value. Unless you plan on upgrading everything, then the Base Camp is the way.

What version do you have? There is a big difference in the one released this year and the previous versions.

@@_.hondziarz._2203 There are a few things you can do, the easiest one is getting a LiPo battery. The battery swap requires new connectors and soldering. Next you could replace the Raido and ESC, that requires soldering as well. If it's indeed the version 2 (the servo is located on the axel) the motor and transmissions upgrades you see online will not work. The new version shares the same drivetrain as the MN82. So far with the older version (servo on the frame) this has been the best combination of things: ua-cam.com/video/RDIKifo9MlI/v-deo.html. but the upgrades ended up costing more than the MN99s.

I am sorry to hear that. I just checked mine to see if you can use it without the board, and you can't. Some chargers work without them, but this one does not do much. I am sure you are already working to get that returned and replaced. It is a nice charger with all the right parts.

Yes, you can use the 53mm shocks with the leaf springs.

@BillsWorkbench I got my base camp before Christmas, and ya, I noticed some things that the stock tires struggle with climbing on things in my backyard, like loose dirt and some 45°degree slopes.

What don't you like about them. If it's hard to remove part, you can file down the locking part on the charger end just a bit and it much easier to remove.

@BillsWorkbench I am looking for a decent charger for them, and it seems rare. But I'm new in the RC world, so maybe I am not searching the right things. 😁 The provided Spectrum USB charger gets really hot and seems to be subpar.

It's a JST with a 1mm spacing. My receiver came with the plugs, and nice silicone wire. I did not find any on Amazon: amzn.to/49Qkp37.

Yes I what would have been easier.

MN Model makes two different axels, where the input shaft is a different diameter. Looks like the vendor that sold you the bundle did not include the correct drive shaft. This kit includes the adapters to make it work with either axel type. amzn.to/3DrAhgl

What shocks did you get. The ones I invested in are too long and too stiff for the base camp.

@BillsWorkbench I got the Injora 39mm shocks (in red) left on the springs they came with. I used 50 weight oil, I'm pleased with the way they work.

Agreed, once you start upgrading things you need to see where the weak link is a get that upgraded too.

Out of the box, the only upgrade I did was the wheels and tires. Just that upgrade turn this thing in to a great little truck.

Correct, but on the other hand if you are getting full turn on each side after moving it down you get more "control" at the transmitter end.

@@ColeBriden-pl3fr Yes! The stock receiver/ESC combo will work just fine with this motor. You may need a pinion puller to get the pinion off the new motor and put the stock one on the new one. Putting the new one on is an easy press on.

I removed the switch and shorted the two wires together. It turns on now when I connect the battery.
