Great day of diving out at Santa Cruz Island aboard the Spectre Dive Boat. We had a great encounter with a sea lion on one of our dives as well. Congrats to our new divers, Taylor, Beau, and Andy, and thanks to Matt Volk for the video footage!

Well done, knew most of it but new info made it worthwhile. Are you going to do one on some of the more obscure fishes?
WTF...just take some plastic water bottles filled with water and rinse off your equipment and take a shower!
The SMB and spool should be pre-connected...then there is no chance of loosing one and one less thing to do underwater when deploying the marker buoy.
Activities you can’t perform if your spool and SMB are pre-connected: - Use the spool as a cross wreck line - Use the spool as a penetration line - Use the spool to run a search pattern - Use an alternate SMB to signal for surface support But that’s the beauty of having different approaches and sharing knowledge. We have the opportunity to help others think of different approaches to solve a problem.
