Thanks for the tip Doozy.
Haa , are you kidding me ?
Yes. I am kidding you.
The sleigh and horse look great together. Loved seeing the fall foliage with your tree line backdrop !! Is there anyway to do just a video on the foliage views on your property, showing different colored trees, possibly naming what type of tree they are.?
Thanks for the idea and comment. I’ve slowed down on doing videos….motivation kind of stopped. We’ll see
Wondering if you still have the bee hives? Just curious. Heard so many great things about the bees and how the cure aches, pains and joint injuries.
no bees this year. the hive died off after the 1st year. too much work for now.
It’s a fact if you own a generator you should have a new carb , tank valve and hose just in case plus oil and fresh gasoline 😊 and a new ngk spark plug plus starting fluid It’s money well spent if you have a problem and you will sooner or later
That's a great idea. Especially for other pieces of equipment that you need in a hurry.
It looks great! 🌟
Thanks. It’s neat to think that was what people used 100 years ago
Great tunes🎼
Thanks. For some reason that song enters my head when I think about crystal clear water
@@goodalefarm4950it reminds me of picnic days as a kid.
Lots of nice, flat rocks
yes. the area I live sits on top of ledge. there are rock out croppings all around. when I dig there’s a 90% chance I’ll hit a rock. ugh
@@goodalefarm4950 lol, same here, but I don't get many flat ones when I dig.
I wish that stuff was on my compost pile! +10 for physical removal vs chemical treatment.
David - thanks for that comment. I didn't know hydrilla is good for compost. I will move some up to my pile.
Live up at alligator rock, always look forward to new videos
Thanks. I appreciate the support.
A horse is a horse of course
Hey Andy. Thanks for the comment. Yes the horse is
Thanks for the tour - deer included. Good lesson of using your eyes. Find those missing cover bolts!
you’re welcome. I’ll probably find the cover bolt’s after the mower blows up. and there probably in an obvious spot
Napa has great belts and are gates brand, the best 😊😊😊
Great tip on the filters 👌
Thanks Rick. Cutting to size saves frustrating when needed. Good luck
I used an old telescoping paint roller extension pole, probably 14' or so, to fashion a super-long selfie stick, which holds an old cell phone. I set the phone to record video, hold the pole up over the gutter and just walk it around the house. I get a nice detailed view of my gutters, which I can review when I'm on solid ground. Also lets me know how well I did cleaning them out, or if an area needs more work.
That’s genius. Great idea. Thanks for sharing it
Just wanted to drop a huge thank you for this incredibly helpful video! My Pentair VSF pool pump had stopped working, and I was at a loss. I initially replaced the keypad, thinking that was the issue since the power to the drive assembly seemed fine. But even with the new keypad, it still didn't work. After watching your video, I pried my drive assembly apart and found the exact same issue you described - a burnt-out power terminal on the motherboard, burned all the way through. Your detailed troubleshooting saved me a lot of time and likely a thousand dollars by avoiding a professional service call. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and expertise. You made a huge difference!
You're welcome. I would never buy a Pentair. The cost is crazy especially if a simple electrical defect makes the whole system useless. Pentair should be aware.....a chain is only as strong as the weakest link.
I'm on the same journey ......... None of my local pool store or big box stores carry anything that matches up my my 2" Pentair / Sand Dollar sand filter. The only carry part for the systems they sell. Short sighted from my way of thinking as I see people in all the time not find the brand specific unions and valves. PVC Unions, skimmer baskets, skimmer vacuum plates for vacuuming, o-rings, multi-valve top sassy. The ONLY common part everyone carries is schedule 40 2" PVC pipe. Ever notice how the installer always butt the joints flush with connecting joint so you can't cut them apart and re glue the replacement pipe?
I agree. it’s very annoying to find parts plus when the installation is too tight to fix. I was close to getting a whole new unit
Great video!
I'm looking at a flat tire at my son's place. May just give this a shot. Thanks!
I hope it helps. Good luck Steve. Thanks for the comment
That engine is notorious for valve cover gasket problems. Kohler engine on a MTD/Cub Cadet. Cubs aren’t the mowers they once were. I have one just like it but mine has been taken care of. It’s a 2013 but it looks and operates like new. I’m a freak when it comes to preventative maintenance. If you saw it you’d think it was just bought brand new. The comment above is absolutely correct about overheating that engine and most engines. The shroud is designed to keep the engine cool. The flywheel has fins on it that catch air and distribute it to different parts of the engine to cool it. I’m also a bonafide small engine mechanic with 2 years of schooling, continued education classes and 36 years experience.
yes
Ayyyeeee 👍🇺🇸
Yes Mr SD
Protip....lube that drill bit while drilling! Keep it cool and sharp...
Yes, good tip Mark. I was dipping the bit in a quart of transmission fluid I had laying around. Probably not the best, but.
@@goodalefarm4950 Nothing wrong with that. It seems counterintuitive, but it cuts better with oil than dry. Great idea with the hose sleeve.
@@MarkZacchio thanks
Many of the new england stone walls come from the "sheep fevor" which was only a couple decades in the early 1800s
Hahaha
Whatcha gonna name her Pete?
Hmmm. I hadn’t even thought of that Deb. But good idea to think about.
Hi, I'm in the same spot with the Pentair controller. What is the model/part number of the pool pump replacement that you used?
I have had mine for 10 years, with the front mount. First 3 years used it like this, then I added a 2500 lb wireless winch and it's amazing how much better it works.
Are there any puncture places on the balls, bite marks , bird beak? Possibly a wind spout could of pick them up and moved them over? Either way look out for wild life.
ehhh any bite or puncture marks are probably from George biting the toy. Wind...? doubtful - since we don't get those here, plus there would be other things strewn about. Mystery continues.
I put it on the front of my GMC 3500
I thought about front, but didn't want to buy and install a front receiver.
I have one I love it
agree I use it as the main clearing tool but not the only.
yer gona smoke that engine , you can't run air cooled engines with no covers on , they overheat very quick . also those courage engines are duds , many issues , don;t fall in love with that mower you willl be disappointed
I never heard of such a thing. It seems counter-intuitive.....How would an air-cooled engine be more at risk of over heating - if there was more cooler air around it. Not being a smart ass, I'm really curious.
The covers are designed to direct the air from fan on flywheel to flow past the cooling fins , mowers are slow machines they don’t move fast enough to get enough air flow to cool without those covers on directing the air
That makes perfect sense. I appreciate the information
I have an ltx1040 with that same engine with just over 300 hours on it. It runs good and is fairly easy on fuel. Thise valve covers are always problematic, but a new gasket should fix it for a while. Another problem thats very specific to that engine is a design flaw of sorts. Its called a bucket engine because theres no oil pan. The engine case is split at the top just under the flywheel. The problem is that over many hours the pan bolts can vibrate loose and work there way out of the threads and they hit the spinning flywheel. This usually cracks the aluminium engine case somewhere around the bolt hole and itll leak oil bad. It may pay you to check them and if any are loose hit em with some loc tite before retightening them. Good luck with it,theyre usually a decent mower
Thanks for the input. I'll tackle it in the Spring.
It'll cost you another $5 in gas to clean the paint off your fingers. lol
Good observation Mark. No worries, I have a vat of 50year old degreaser that I use. It works wonders. Takes chrome off bumpers too.
Nice mower!!! You might have a blown head gasket also. The head is very oily. Fingers crossed 🤞 it's not.
Fingers crossed!
Do have a link of part you bought from from Doheny's? I cannot find it.
I don’t have the link. But I believe it is a 1.5 or 2hp unit. Pump and basket. The picture of it is in either this video or others
Liking your Sasquatch , his hat almost looks like your barn , I think he needs the logo of Goodale Farm on his hat L O L
Thanks. The snowman sign is in need of rehap. Eva painted it many years ago and it's getting tired.
Usman - Thanks for your comment and subscription. I may have deleted your comment my mistake. yes - i will do a follow up video in the Spring/Sumer after the tree leafs out
What a deal on the tree! 👏
Agree. At $20 I can’t go wrong. I’m looking forward to the spring to see it leaf out
Nice to see your cute dog, George.
Thanks. I appreciate the comment. He is funny. He drops the toys in the pool….barks at them. But when I take it out, he puts it back in. ?
Stay safe on the farm Peter
Thank you for your comment and support Lois. You're the best.
Stay sharp! 😎
Thanks my friend
Great job with very informative video. Jimmy is awesome with the snakes!
Yes Jimmy da man! thankful for his help
ahh bud.. metal expands when heated... should get those bolts to release... maybe a small propane torch? you'd be wanting to heat up the nut mostly, it'll expand away from the bolt and release much easier.
Yes Roddy ! Great suggestion. I will definitely do that next go. Thanks for sharing that.
@@goodalefarm4950 Hope you have a great day Sir 🙂
You have no idea how thankful I am for this video! I found the same exact problem as you had. I took the drive apart, cleaned the probe, squeezed it little together and just like that, MY PUMP IS RUNNING AGAIN!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
You’re welcome. You made my day knowing it helped. Glad to have saved you the headache.
Looks like spring has sprung early in CT. 🤗

hi Rome the bottles are from Bascoms Maple Farms in New Hampshire
Nice job 👍 😊

Awesome video scott and peter!
Thanks Rick. It was a lot of fun.
How did you fix the motherboard burnt?
Hi. On the initial fix I cleaned the contacts with alcohol and a swab. And ensured contacts were firm. After 1 year the whole contact fried. So I sold the unit as is and bought a new system from Dohenys for a fraction of the price. New unit works great
I didn’t fix the motherboard. Too extensive for me. A man has got to know his limitations. :). I bought a new unit from Dohenys at a fraction
