Meet Junie - Alter Q&A - Dissociative Identity Disorder
Meet Junie, the current host of our system. They answer the Q&A, get distracted by the moon, and then talk about the ongoing fusion between them and Aerie. They also mention a minor upcoming surgical procedure that "should be fine" - spoiler alert: it wasn't fine. We'll make a video about it, but it might be awhile before we have another video. As always, you can leave any questions in the comments.

If your experiences are different than ours, they are still valid and we are not making any claims that other experiences are wrong or bad. Meet Aerie - Alter Q&A - Dissociative Identity Disorder
Переглядів 272Рік тому
Meet Aerie, a previous host who is currently fusing with our current host, so this will probably be the only video of her on her own, but we thought it would be important to document her as she is now. She does the regular Q&A, and then talks about the impending fusion and why she wants to do it and how she hopes it will help the rest of the system. Disclaimer: We are not medical professionals ...
Meet Grey - Alter Q&A - Dissociative Identity Disorder

Some Q&A with Grey to get to know him better. He wouldn't edit his own video so I (Junie) took the liberty of leaving in some funny cuts he probably would have cut, and I added my own commentary with captions *insert evil laughter here*. Our DID Story and Channel Introduction
Переглядів 1,1 тис.Рік тому
Hi! We're Orion. This is our channel introduction and a not-so-brief introduction to our system. We talk about how long we've known we are plural, how we got an official dissociative identity disorder diagnosis, and a little bit about how our system works. It's a long and rambly video because we aren't used to being on camera anymore, but we plan to make a bunch of videos and I promise they'll ...

    Why do you talk about this disorder?? Doesn't it bother you that everyone now knows that your father sexually abused you for years??

    My dad was diagnosed with DID when he was about 56. It made so much sense to my sisters and I when he told us; it explained so many things about his behavior. Dad always loved us, but his behavior did sometimes change quickly and significantly. As children, we accepted this as completely normal, but as I got older, I noticed that from time to time he behaved like a young child. He was a good dad.

      Came across just now and thought I'd add my experience in hopes to answer. Of course, depending on the situations experienced, every DID system will experience things differently. For our system and specifically this Host, I am at times allowed to be co-conscious (which is much like being in the passenger seat of a car [can see what is going on and possibly offer ideas] ), and yet there are other times that I am NOT co-conscious and at that time, for me, it is like standing in a small closet the door closes and the darkness gives way to the absence of being and in effect, time stops. It is almost like everything (short of myself) ceases to exist. 🤔

    Hi Grey! You did great. It gets easier. I've been on UA-cam for two years now (with my first channel, this one is only a few months old.) I have the opposite wish of your superpower of invisiblity. Which by the way, congrats on putting yourself out there when you'd rather just stay hidden. Doing hard things isn't always fun, but sometimes it's the best way to grow. But I've always felt invisible and I just want to be SEEN and acknowledged, which is one reason I started UA-cam. I now know that is because of being undiagnosed autistic until 42 but I didn't know that at the beginning of my YT venture. Anyway, great job, look forward to hearing more from you. Oh and Two Dots is fun as is Mario Cart... I'm not much of a gamer but I have played those two! 😁

    I relate so much to that "ah! My life makes sense!" moment after my Austism/adhd diagnosis at 42. I'm super open about it too. Thanks for this video, you are a great advocate for DID.

  • @i.am.mindblind
    @i.am.mindblind Рік тому

    Hi, I found you on TikTok and came on by to your UA-cam. I understand the processing that happens around a late diagnosis. I was just recently diagnosed with Autism and ADHD and it's like oh that makes SO much sense now.... I also have a memory disorder called SDAM (Severely Deficient Autobiographical Memory) that is self diagnosed (it's actually newly discovered and still being researched so everyone with it is self dxd.) But so far it is the best explanation I've found for my memory loss. I have mostly normal semantic memory, but my episodic memory doesn't work. It is interesting that the amnesia isn't noticed in DID. But the thing I've learned the most over the past couple months is that brains are amazing. I'm so sad that DID is born from trauma.

    But matcha online and stir 1-2t of it with sugar then add 1 T water and stir it more then another 1T then add boiled water or cold, then heat in microwave. It’s pretty close to a match latte, for a tiny fraction of buying it by the cup out.

    It’s interesting to me as that as a non host you are sort of considered the most “adult” of the system by the partner / system (If I’ve got that right, of course). I guess what I’m saying is being the most “adult” and not being the host is kinda opposite of my experience or what I’ve heard.

    • @oriiionses
      @oriiionses Рік тому

      I think it's pretty common for protectors/caretakers to be the "elders" of the system, actually. We have to be older or more mature to take care of everything. Honestly I've been an adult since we were like 3. Our host has only even existed for a few years. Age is weird with DID.

    Sometimes not every alter knows of each alter it depends on the amnesia walls the brain sets up. The key to being a system is communicating with your parts. It takes time . We have 30 alters that we know of at this point. Also finding a good therapist helps a lot.
